I miss these moments in One Piece. They don't really have the time for it anymore, but some of my favorite moments with the crew have been just watching them screwing around on the ship like this, lol

The online service keeps looking worse and worse for what it's "selling", but aside from some stupidity with the controllers, the NES service that's coming with it is looking like everything I could want out of a VC replacement, honestly.
HD resolutions and filters, NES-Classic-tier emulation and instantaneous load times, suspension points, online play and parties, a constantly (and rapidly so far) expanding library of games at a low sub price -- even the controllers, as stupidly limited as they are, are pretty cool if you want to go the extra mile and deck the system out in the specific console a service is made for, even down to regional versions.
Alongside the Switch's gimmick for easy local play, the online support breaths new life into the multiplayer games that were forgotten or limited as heck...
It undercuts everything irritating about Nintendo's Virtual Console pricing in the past, while completely eclipsing it in terms of quality and options offered at the same time...
And the controller options allow it to be about as authentic as a NES classic, but constantly growing with the additions of new games as time goes on.

If it were removed from the bad rep that comes with the Online Subscription, I honestly think this could have been a megaton on it's own. (Not that I'd necessarily want the two to be seperate purchases, though :V) The only flaw I can see with the service is that it's the only option to play the games on the system. Which is kinda a big deal. Kinda isn't, but also kinda is. I dunno, media in general is gonna have to wrestle with consumerism overall as the digital age goes on, I feel. Definitely an obvious flaw with an easy solution right now, though.
Either way, it looks phenomenal so far imo. I know I said NES games are too archaic for me to care, and I would go on about how I hope better systems get the same treatment, (especially N64 and beyond, what with HD emulation and all ) but... honestly, I'm feeling a bit into the idea of giving the classics and more arcadey multiplayer games a try, with how slick and seamless it all is now. Can definitely wait a while if the rest Nintendo offers is as up-to-par as this.

Alright this looks a lot tighter than what the previous demos showed off. Probably the higher in difficulty you go, the better the gameplay will be. Helps that the player actually knows what they're doing, as well.
I still don't understand what all the systems mean in the game yet, but I really hope something in the game promotes aggression in some way or another, since the pacing is probably the game's biggest potential flaw so far imo. It really does look like everything I could want from a mecha game so far, so I really hope it turns out as clean as possible.

Oh, looks like the flipped camera is relegated to time trials for the Yoshi game now. It does look more polished, but changing your perspective in a 2.5D world to freely explore for stuff and interact with a 3D space is what got my attention in the first place. The clouds that flip the camera are there, which is something, but still...

Y'know, Shadow didn't really have that many chaos powers at first. Not until Shadow the Hedgehog, at least. He had Chaos Spear, sure, but it was pretty similar to Sonic Wind and Thunder Arrow in-game, (energy based, only mentioned in the gameplay) which both Sonic and Knuckles used, and the way Chaos Control was presented in the story made it seem more like a technique than an exclusive ability.
I wonder how his character would have turned out if both his chaos powers stayed more reserved to those two signature moves, and the powers were more ubiquitous across the rest of the cast, all learning how to chaos control and make their own moves as a result. (I mean it'd be dumb imo, but people want every character to have a super form in the first place so why not tbh) Kinda like the series' take on Nen, or Ki/Chi.

All credit for this build's major assets (programming, game and level design, modeling) goes to Steve Taylor / ShtankTank. Tho I will say I helped with game planning, (lots of) beta testing, level concept art, and that nice logo up there.
If everything is recieved well enough, I'll get to join Steve on stretching our muscles in making something a bit more ambitious. 😎 In the meantime, enjoy sage2018 boyos.
