  1. I’ve recently started revisiting Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, because I realised that I 100% the game on my father’s PSN account.

This really is the best game in the series, rivalling R&C3 at the throne. While it does continue an ongoing story, it still leaves enough that you can hop in without prior knowledge.

I don’t think the gameplay ever managed to top Crack in Time. It was the height of the series and the best weapon selection since 3.

It’s also very underappreciated how Ratchet & Clank (before the PS4 game) would always do their best to pull in a consistent 60 FPS.

If another Ratchet & Clank leaned a little more into the RPG aspect that A Crack in Time put down, just to see where that could go as an idea, I’d be very interested. And I absolutely adore the hub world idea that A Crack in Time put down too, and would love to see that expanded upon too.

Seriously, 3 and ACiT are gold standards in the series, with points to Deadlocked for it’s fun multiplayer. For a new Ratchet & Clank, I’d love to see many of these elements refined and taken to their fullest extent.

  2. For the time being, I really cannot justify buying TSR. It looks fun, but it seems like the type of game I’d buy at a lower price point.

I myself would be willing to play it as soon as it arrives if it hadn't been absolutely trampled by the competiton surronding it before and following it up.

Did you like ASRT? Think of that except instead of the transformation gimmick it has a team gimmick and all the bonus modes are replaced by crappy ones

  3. Every time I hear Speak With Your Heart, I imagine a credits scene for Sonic Colours on the Miles Electric, like the Portal 1/2 credits scenes.

And it would totally work too.

  4. Blaze: I’ll have you know driving is one of my many skills.

Well do they drive cars in your dimension?

It was mostly islands we saw, if there were still boats in the game, she might be right.

    3. Diogenes

      she can drive a boat

  5. As I plan for my animated short film project for school, I find that I can’t make something based off of what may be copyrighted. Sorry, Mega Man ;n;

Time for a new approach! I’ve got an idea, of which is pretty much throwing Mega Man, magical girl shows, children’s action cartoons and bits and pieces of my favourite video games and anime all into a blender.

    Should turn out rather fun.

In a way, this new idea kind of is :V

The main character even has the exact same powers.

  6. If you want a game where Sonic’s friends are useful, play the Sonic the Hedgehog chess set.

Sonic is the King, so he can’t do jackshit. Amy cleans house as the Queen. Tails is the Bishop, Knuckles is the Knight. The Master Emerald is a Rook.

And rings protect you as the Pawn.

    1. SupahBerry

      SupahBerry

But that's the exact same problem 06 had. Putting too much focus on every other character at the expense of the title character doing anything.

That was why we've ended up here to begin with.

    2. Polkadi~♪

      Polkadi~♪

Which is why the Sonic chess set kind of sucks :V

      It’s classic themed, too.

  7. It’s surprising that, over these past two weeks or so, many things from SnapCube’s Sonic real-time fandub videos have actually become reality. Most notably:

Tilted Towers being destroyed and on fire

“Who posted my NUDES on TWITTER.COM”

and Sonic the Hedgehog said gay rights

And Silver is revealed to be a twink in TSR

Sonic: "I'm SO gonna own you Silver."

      Silver: "Okay."

  9. It's so funny hearing a conversation in a game between a voice actor who is good at what they do, and a voice actor who just sounds flat.

Persona 3 sounds perfectly fine, until Fuuka opens her mouth.

      MAH ARMOR!

  10. I'm so happy that I can talk about Sonic GAMES again. I can only spend so long confused at the movie.

  11. yup, knuckles definitely has a new voice, and it SUUUUUUCKS

    1. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

Sometimes he sounds absolutely fine. Others he sounds incredibly try-hard and it's awful.

I wonder why there were so many (will at least 2) re-casts for TSR. Both Silver and Knuckles had great performances in Forces

    2. Dr. Detective Mike

      Dr. Detective Mike

Whenever a voice is changed, an adjustment period for the fanbase and the actor who is new to the character is over the horizon. It's typically not a good thing to keep doing this so often but whatever. Why even bother expecting any semblance of consistency...?

    3. Strickerx5

      Strickerx5

It has to be a pay rate thing. I mean, that was presumably the reason Higgins stopped voicing Tails after LW (though at least with Tails, Villard came in and didn't miss a single beat).

Anyways... if there's any good to take from this, at least the changes were done for a spin-off game instead of a main title or something. Hopefully the VAs will adjust by then.

    4. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

@Strickerx5 Remember when Kirk Thornton debuted as Shadow in Free Riders (which somehow has higher production values in its cutscenes than TSR) and proceeded to chew scenery in every game since? And yet he delivers such a good performance as Orbot.

Knuckles really does sound fine in a lot of the TSR dialogue, but it's too inconsistent. And it's a shame because Willingham DID improve massively from his Dan Green impersonations back in Free Riders. Forces Knuckles sounded great. On part with Scott Drier, even if the two takes were rather different. If his new VA can get the consistency, I'll be happy with it.

Silver I'm also unsure about. Flynn sounded like his original voice, but somehow less irritating. The new voice is completely different, but I don't think I dislike it. It's just strange getting used to something so different after approximately 13 years.

    5. Polkadi~♪

      Polkadi~♪

Other Knuckles voices have sounded natural, but this new actor sounds like he's trying too hard putting on a "tough guy" voice to play Knuckles. It's too unnatural, that it causes a severe disconnect between the voice and the character.

I have gotten a general idea of what Knuckles sounds like thanks to his previous voices, and this new one is really trying too hard that he doesn't feel like Knuckles.

    6. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

That's the thing though, I don't get that impression in all of his lines. Most the the in-race clips have the try-hard tough guy vibe that's unnatural and off. But a lot of (not all) of his story dialogue actually sounds decent.

    7. Dr. Detective Mike

      Dr. Detective Mike

The one story dialogue clip I listened to started off with him sounding fine and then ended with him giving me doofy Storm the Albatross vibes.

He's new to Knuckles so he'll need some time. Then he'll get replaced and another guy will have to try and get used to playing Knux...

    8. Polkadi~♪

      Polkadi~♪

I really don't want to give him crap for it, every new actor will have some difficulty adjusting, and Knuckles's new actor has his good lines. It's just a bit off, as Knuckles has had probably the most consistent voice direction, where this sounds so obviously different. I hope the new actor finds a way to improve.

Silver isn't too bad. It's no Flynn, but the "anime protagonist" voice fits strangely well with his character.

    9. Kuzu the Boloedge

      Kuzu the Boloedge

Bryce Papenbrook being called the "Anime protagonist" voice is hilarious

    10. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

@Kuzu the Boloedge Prepare to laugh even more because @Polkadi~♪ is spot on with that comparison. Silver literally is Anime Protagonist the Hedgehog now.

    11. Kuzu the Boloedge

      Kuzu the Boloedge

That's exactly why I laughed, it's an hilariously fitting title for him lol

    12. Dr. Detective Mike

      Dr. Detective Mike

Oh snap. I didn't know people besides me called Silver "anime protagonist" voice in reaction to Bryce.

  12. I mean, aside from Mega Man... But he actually made it in, so I guess that doesn't count.
  13. The honourifics is probably to be polite, but the tilde is to prolong a sound. Where we might do “Ah...” as “Ahhh...,” would happen as “あ…” being ”あ〜…“ It’s different with things like shouting that we might do as “AAAAA”, because that becomes “あああああ” instead. In a nutshell, it’s just standard writing.
  14. Brand new location introduced in this issue. Looks like a large metropolis by the coast.
  15. As I browse for Mega Man figures, I tend to come across toys for the Fully Charged series.

Gee, they really did Air Man dirty...
