  1. IDW put out a press release for their revised direct market schedule for the rest of the Summer. Sonic-relevant dates: May 27: Tangle & Whisper Trade June 24th: StH #28 and StH V6: The Last Minute July 8th: 2020 Annual July 22nd: StH #29 August 5th: StH #30 August 12th: StH Volume 1 Spanish Edition August 19th: StH #31
  2. Usually go with something gaming-related for June to celebrate E3, but with COVID-19 putting a kibosh on that and me not wanting to jinx any game stuff still expected to release then (namely the Smash and Pokemon DLC) or any potential surprises by being presumptuous, I went for something a little different this year. I ended up picking a Fluttershy theme, as I finally finished MLP FIM on Hulu a couple weeks ago and it put me in kind of a Pony mood. This combo is specifically based on one of my favorite Equestria Girls shorts starring Flutts:
  3. Mega Man Fully Charged is back in comic form, courtesy of an upcoming Boom limited series!

Gonna have to finally watch all of the animated series before I check this out. I'm always up for some new Blue Bomber comics. (I'm also curious if this means that Boom can reprint the Archie series (minus crossovers) so it can finally be complete in trade form?)

This feels like the greatest monkey paw of all time. Goddamnit,

    2. Miragnarok

E-gad! That's one badly drawn Mega!

Now why does that  company name sound familiar, huh???

Disappointed, ngl. After Archie finally let the license go and pulled it from comiXology, I was hoping a transfer of it to Udon or another publisher was in the works. It's not even mired in the kinds of difficulties the Sonic book likely would have had so it's a shame it's still not being continued. Hopefully in the cards eventually, but this doesn't really raise my confidence of that happening.

Archie Mega’s not coming back. Is it?

    6. Ryannumber1gamer

I am utterly baffled that out of every potential MM series you could choose to get a comic book continuation, it's fucking Fully Charged

Yikes. Bad art direction there. MegaMan can't catch a break.

      What happun?

    9. KHCast

Isn’t bad art megaman like a running joke...?

  4. Heads up: OVER 100 Scooby-Doo comics are currently free to purchase on digital storefronts including ComiXology and Amazon Kindle to celebrate Scoob's release.

I'd personally recommend the eight-volume Scooby-Doo Team-Up series that sees the gang cross paths with everyone from Top Cat to Swamp Thing to Space Ghost. (Including a grand finale featuring EVERY previous version of the gang.)

    1. Ryannumber1gamer

      This includes Scooby Apocalypse too.

  5. Journeys just premiered in Canada, so it's information time! First, opening: Pretty nice, IMO, but kinda short. Secondly, VA/name confirmation! Professor Cerise's daughter will be called Chloe and Cherami Leigh will be playing her! (You might know her from various projects, including as Minako/Sailor Venus in the Viz dub of Sailor Moon, Natsumi Hinata in Sgt. Frog, Biyomon/Himekawa in the Digimon Adventure tri. films, and even Kris in Pokemon Masters!) Also, from the credits (as well as gleaned from previous information), we've learned that this particular season will utilize both the classic NY talent pool as well as LA VAs, greatly increasing the potential casting options and even bringing voices who've since moved to LA back on to the show. (For instance, Megan Hollingshead, original dub voice of Nurse Joy among other roles in earlier seasons, has been confirmed by the credits as an additional voice!) Last but not least, it seems like the little eyecatch games from the Japanese show will remain as-is in Journeys: Super excited to watch this next month.
  6. Looks like US dub premieres are moving to Netflix starting June 12, with new eps every quarter. Sakuragi will be called Professor Cerise and Go will be called Goh. (lol) Honestly really awesome news, as the anime is kinda the perfect binging show to me. Gonna have to finish Sun and Moon before then. (It'd be friggin' sweet if the June Direct hit that same week.)
  7. Switching up my profile for May with a Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers theme, chiefly because that show's elusive English dub has finally started to surface recently and I've been watching it. As an EMH fan, getting to watch another Avengers show with Colleen O'Shaughnessy as Wasp makes me VERY happy.
  8. ABT tweeted some clean versions of that cover:
  9. We finally got us a release date and gameplay trailer! Rehydrated will launch on June 23rd! It's really cool seeing finalized Robo Squidward.
  10. Somehow this happened more than once.

    1. PC the Hedgehog

      PC the Hedgehog

Ha ha, yeah, that happened to me more times than I can count over the years. I usually just gave the extras away to my friend. Archie always did have a rather hit-and-miss mailing department.

  11. Sometimes I wish all opinions were as cut and dry as "I'm (not) a fan of this" and it stopped at that without getting into the more colorful potshots and insults. It'd certainly keep my stomach from feeling like it's being repeatedly stomped on whenever the obligatory shitting on Forces happens daily.

    1. Dejimon11

I'm guilty of doing this. My apologizes.

    2. KHCast

Would you say the same when it’s a game getting repeatedly praised that you don’t like?

    3. Superstar Introvert CC14

      Superstar Introvert CC14

@Dejimon11 It's not your fault. Just making your opinion known and me taking crap way too personally.

@KHCast Not really. It's mostly the negative stuff that gets to me. Like there's no point in even having my positive opinion of something when it's a grain of sand in wave upon wave of hate and criticism. (Combined with the fact that my mind can't even form a single coherent argument in favor of my stance and even if it could, I'd be so afraid of getting slapped down by way smarter people arguing the opposite way more skillfully that there wouldn't be much of a point anyway. I can just say "I disagree" and let all of this slink into the back of my skull somewhere.)

    4. DanJ86

It can be tiring. It's always worth remembering to not take it personally. You are allowed to like what you want and hate what you want.

  12. The Japanese Sonic Twitter gave Orbot and Cubot a lady friend for April Fool's Day. Pretty cute idea for a joke.

    1. JosepHenry

      ,,, I like this idea tho :(

    2. Strickerx5

It's not a bad idea. Design is killer actually.

Have no idea how she'd fit into the dynamic the two already have in cutscenes but hey, there's potential here. Sort of seems like something the Boom show would've done for an episode.

      Too bad it's a joke.

    3. JosepHenry

for an episode?? that sounds terrible tho

"give the lackeys a girlfriend" episode? noooooo thank you lol

... man why is this a joke

    4. Diogenes

her mouth is on her torso

    5. Polkadi~☆

fit the mouth to the head and i'll say this would be a fun idea

    6. Zaysho

I don't like Orbot and Cubot, so I don't care about adding to them lol

Still it's a cute idea and kind of reminds me of Tapu Lele from Pokémon, especially with the color scheme and shapes.

    7. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

There's already enough useless and wasteful sidekick villains anyway, so no lost here.

But not to worry. I know of just the right person she can be "characters that should be real" together with-

      Now try the Dev times...

  14. April combo celebrates DuckTales Season 3 starting soon with a theme dedicated to Negaduck's surprise appearance in Season 2. Hoping Negsy shows up again in Season 3, as he's my fave Darkwing villain and I want more of Jim Cummings rocking the complete psycho.
  15. Might not have made an appearance in the Direct Mini, but that doesn't mean some new Sponge stuff didn't pop up elsewhere! Courtesy of the Steam page for the game, we've got four brand new GIFs of gameplay that give us our very first look at Sandy as well as a boss and FINALLY non-Jellyfish-Fields levels! Also a bit of analysis of them from a speedrunner who helped out on the game's development a bit: Hope we start getting more official updates soon. Could really go for a gameplay trailer after all these nuggets thrown our way.
  16. New solicits with two new connecting Tracy covers!
  17. We finally got some footage from further along than pre-Alpha! Looking gorgeous!
  18. I liked Dan's art, too, but mostly because I love his work on stuff like the Ghostbusters comics and it's always neat to see his style applied to more franchises. I wish he could've done the entire first part rather than having to split with Tracy, as I would've loved more actiony stuff from him. Edwin Huang was definitely the weakest link with the most issues in regards to the Sonic characters and backgrounds in particular, but I kinda get why they went for him. He drew for the Street Fighter comics and they wanted to make it a cute little pseudo-crossover with said comics since the franchise entered the fray with the second chapter. They just didn't consider his versatility with the bread and butter of said crossover at the time and it really showed. Street Fighter characters looked great, though. (As messy as Worlds Unite is, I still absolutely love that scene where Ryu's Hadoken flies in out of nowhere, everyone looks for the source, and then you get the big introduction page with "FROM THE WORLD OF STREET FIGHTER" with all the characters. Certain artistic issues aside, that was a well done moment.) Nothing to comment on about Tyson Hesse's contribution. He was fantastic as always and a great choice to at least end WU on a great artistic note after Ben Bates did the same with WC. (I'm STILL cheesed that his part was the one that never got a trade out before the comic was canned.)
  19. New covers, including a delightful new piece by Jon Gray: I love that Big's winning the Shuffle tournament with the fishing rod controller. XD
  20. March combo comes in just a little bit early to celebrate something actually happening at the end of February: Pokemon Day, but particularly the dub premiere of Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution on Netflix. I'm a huge Mewtwo fan, so of course I had to highlight his fancy redesigned armor. Very excited to see my favorite version of the Genetic Pokemon back in action! (Even if it's a remake.)
  21. Next GP will be the last, but a new Challenge system will be implemented following it, more Time Trials will be added, and the game will still see new characters, Karts, and content added in the future. (This might be it for new Tracks, though.)
  22. Ultimate was the game that implemented a more Wario Land-accurate Shoulder Barge back in to his moveset by making it his new dash attack. I don't believe Smash 4 had any equivalent move, as it was previously his forward smash in Brawl before the following games changed it to a big fist. Also, you're probably thinking of Miiverse, not Mario Maker concerning free stages. (Mario Maker was the only standalone purchasable brand new stage in Smash 4 and it cost a little more than the added returning stages.)
  23. Hahaha, Ian Flynn is co-writing an official Transformers/MLP crossover comic. Awesome to see him on another MLP project following Feats of Friendship and fantastic to get another crossover out of him post-Worlds Collide/Unite. DIS GON B FUN. 😄

    1. Big Panda

      Big Panda

And people like to say an MLP and Sonic crossover is a stupid idea?

  24. This kinda blew my mind, if I'm gonna be honest. (I even had the Smash 4 track on my phone that was called the correct name all this time and I still thought the misspelling WAS the proper one.)
