  1. okay so here’s a big brain thought:

the death egg mk2 from sonic 4 is just a bigger, larger scale robot generator/roboticizer/whatever the fuck you call it from sonic cd

not destroying them would have already caused a bad future, but sonic already did that, so robotnik decided to just make a bigger one shaped like the death egg, and that’s how metal sonic’s still in the bad future after reawakening (he built it while metal laid defeated for a long while)

This is the most I've seen anyone talk about Sonic 4 since it released

      I don't know what's funnier:

Them tying the plot of CD with 4

Or tying the plot of Mania with Forces.

i don't exactly see the humor

i mean cd's level design is ass and mania kinda gets stupid hard on the last few levels but i don't think either of them are really bad

...And many don't think 4 or Forces are really... good?

hey man if you came here expecting correct opinions you're best to find someone else with that

      not here tho

this is my dump and i'm living in it

death egg mk. 2 only reminded me that they really wasted the idea of having little planet encased in a death egg

just a virtually empty gravity-changing level that has almost no challenge (just a couple of spikes, not even any badniks) and a metal sonic race that turns into an absolute joke if you use the rolling combo

the actual final boss being some sort of heart-shaped machine thing was admittedly a bit more inspired, at least

oh i guess we're doing this now

@RosaRosaRosalina I didn't mean to take the focus off your theory, my apologies. that was honestly the first thing that came to my mind.

( my attempt at offering an olive branch I suppose )

concept: since the generators are able to produce electricity and the new DE is one big generator, what's the possibility that the DE itself is what's giving metal sonic renewed power (since he had been out of power for arguably years)?

it's not as if eggman took metal back to earth somewhere to rebuild/rejuvenate him, he did that with just a floating sign on LP itself. which was able to conduct electricity out of thin air.

while we don't see metal again after DEM2 act 1 regardless, i wouldn't be surprised if when the DE lost power, metal lost power as well (despite stealing that jewel in the episode metal prologue and gaining new powers, that's still an earth-specific powerup)
