  1. Okay, so this is a wierd occurrence, but for some reason, posting a status update all of a sudden doesn't seem possible. In the sense that the status update box is there, but clicking it does nothing and it won't let me type in there. Has this been happening to anyone else?
  2. I seriously, can't for the life of me, figure out what the music track that plays at 12:13 is.

  3. Well would ya look at that? Speak loudly enough and eventually Bethesda will listen.

Fallout was sent to die so every other Bethesda game could live.

*id software. If you read the actual post from Marty, you'd see that this anticheat was id's decision, not Bethesda's.

I am a bit skeptical of the VRAM allocation part of that post and how DAC wasn't responsible for it, but Doom Eternal, at least on PC, initially came with its own share of issues (broken HDR, big framerate issues because of Steam overlay, etc.), so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

But I am also glad Marty commented on this like he did on the whole Mick Gordon controversy (which Mick himself still hasn't actually responded to btw), you rarely see that with other companies, even within Bethesda. Especially within Bethesda.

@Supah Berry *looks at Elder Scrolls*

  4. Boy, Jack Sparrow wasn't kidding when he said he get his hands on the keyblade!

    1. KHCast

Well he actually said he would get a crew of pirates and take it from sora, sooo...guess this means he killed Sora and got what he wanted lol

Unless he plucked a keyblade from that mass graveyard of 'em.

    3. KHCast

He specifically said he’d take it from Sora. And the man lives by his vows so I doubt it

He doesn't sound very use to swinging it in around the air, seeing how he screams when he starts falling three feet back to the ground.  (:30)

    5. Failinhearts

How coincidental when I finally unlocked the Keyblade in this game last week.

  5. Fallout 76 is just, the meme train that keeps on chugging out bad news.

    1. Bloxxerboy

      This monetization system just works.

    2. KHCast

At this point they’re just taking the piss cause they know people already hate them. The people sticking with them and 76 are clearly who this is aimed at. The “live service” model after all is about not getting newcomers, but squeezing the base you already got

    3. Perkilator

Between this and the anti-cheat fiasco with Doom Eternal, shit like this (never mind that I don’t care about FPS or Bethesda games to begin with) is why I don’t want a Bethesda rep in Smash Ultimate. As far as I recall, even Konami doesn’t stoop to Bethesda’s current level.

  6. Talk about a dedicated pizza delivery.

    1. AlphaRuby

That woman at the end is such an asshole tho

Not paying for a pizza after the guy risked his life to get it to you?

      So rude.

  7. Huh. Looks neat.

      - Why do Tails' tails barely move when running?

      - If you're going to put tutorial notes in your game just to be sarcastic and poke fun at tutorials, you might as well not make tutorials.

    2. Diogenes

i honestly kinda hate it. awful readability due to the lighting and effects, movement seems too fast and too twitchy, especially compared to things like knuckles' slow as balls climbing and the limp wall jump, the fire shield dumps a ton of particle effects that obscure your character, tails' big ugly flight meter, smashing a wall causes a weirdly long slow-mo effect and the debris covers your view...a lot of little things adding up to a kinda gross experience.

    3. Kuzu

Those tutorials got obnoxious really fast; tutorials are meant to be welcome and ease the player into the game. I get what the intention was, but it's really off putting.

Looks a little unwieldy tbh. Neat concept, but the execution looks rough.

    4. Strickerx5

Tbh, this already looks better than what I'm expecting from ST in their next go.

As far as WiPs go, I like it. Certainly has a number of rough spots: Knuckle's specific area looking detached and generally un-fun to go through, Sonic's wall-jump, both Tails and Knuckles being able to hydro-plane too easily imo, those awful tutorial messages, some level sections genuinely looking too compact for Sonic's speed, ect. Basically, a lot of it needs some more fine tuning.

With that being said, I really am impressed with where this is at the moment. Again, love how this project didn't just end with the beta playground and is actually moving forward into actual levels. It's not all there yet, but the progress is undeniable imo. Excited to see more from this.

    5. Kuzu

Saying this looks better than anything ST does is a meaningless statement at this point; nobody has any faith in ST right now, so of course anything that looks remotely competent is going to look better than what they can do.

    6. Strickerx5

Still gonna say it though. A team of non-paid, freelance fans doing better than a professional team. Even if it's ST I feel it needs to be said.

Even then, I still think this demo looks more than competent.

  8. So, from what I've heard, this movie turned out to be quite flawed, to say the least.
  9. So Scoob! Essentially ended up being the Anti-Sonic Movie.

It was animated, and people went from loving the looks of it at the start, to it ending up being a trainwreck that most people hate in the end.

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

      Polar opposites essentially.

    2. Dejimon11

Is this another stroking sonic ego post?

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

No, and please don't attract the attention of those who would love to clobber me over such a misunderstanding.

      Just pointing it out, geez.

Scooby still looks like Scooby the whole time and was not redesign into a human toothed abomination.

    5. DanJ86

I had just accidentally learned that Simon Cowell makes a cameo in Scoob for some reason...

D-Don't compare the originally misguided but ultimately a fine attempt of a love letter to fans that The Sonic Movie was to this now dead to me, abomination of a cliché ridden pile of....

....I dislike Simon Cowell. He has a massive ego , yet all he does is shoot his mouth off and sponge off people who are apparently talented?

  10. Now we just need Phoenix Wright as a fighter in Smash.

That’s a funny way to spell Axel Stone (justkidding)

That’s a really odd way of saying Professor Layton

    5. Diogenes

it's not "wright", it's "lite". marina liteyears. come on at least google it before you post.

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

@Diogenes Much as I would absolutely love that, do Square Enix and Treasure even remember Mischief Makers?

    7. KHCast

Are you guys dumb or something? It’s spelled Jill Valentine

    8. Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

@KHCast Regarding RE characters, you harshly misspelled Nemesis.

    9. KHCast

Nemesis doesn’t pull cheesy badass one liners tho

  11. No, you're absolutely right about that Mayday.
  12. Already edited that part before you reply, so this remark is outdated and uncalled for. I usually just trim out the fat that doesn't really matter with bits like: Which really isn't necessary anyway. So, if that's your argument, then it amounts to semantics that don't really prove your point. Factoid of life is, he doesn't have that power you think he does to approve or veto a game made by the mainline branch. He is the head of Sonic Team yes, but he's only the runner of SEGA of America. As has been stated before, Sonic Forces' approval was all decided by SEGA of Japan. At most, Iizuka has a contributional role for Forces. Whereas Mania actually was a game that he played more of an active role in the approval department.
  13. You literally did that last page. That's again, where you're mistaken. It's like how years ago, you blamed him for Sonic Forces despite him really not being that involved in that project and overlooked the fact that he was more involved with Sonic Mania. As has been told, much is literally out if his control, and actually decided by the higher ups at SEGA who have kind of been running the show with mainline Sonic titles. You can't blame him for "being absent" when he's where he was stationed. He doesn't have the kind of pull you'd like to assume he does.
  14. The problem apparent, aside from you constantly going off of faulty intel, is that you seem to run on the mentality that anything bad is Iizuka's fault and things would supposedly get better without. Yet anything good he accomplishes, you then shift the goal posts by claiming that just anyone could've done the good he's done. It comes off like you just look for the wrong scapegoat or just have a misguided hate boner for the guy.
  15. Actually, Lord Slug is Movie 4 while Revenge of Cooler is Movie 5, so you might want to switch those two around.
  16. The Resident Evil Remake history train has been quite an interesting ride. We went from practically everyone and their wanting the hell out of an RE2 Remake and finally getting that, to wanting Resident Evil 3 - Nemesis remade, to getting that and being quite mixed or just downright disappointed,  to now people actively asking Capcom NOT to remake RE4, and that looking like it's gonna happen too.

  17. Damn, all the other amazing themes, Sticks and Stones theme most tragically of all, really got nixxed.

    God, this sucks.

    1. Ryannumber1gamer

Dude, they’re just being remade to get fixed and brought in line with the new theme layout, it’s not a big deal.

    2. Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

Is that true @Dreadknux? Are they being brought back eventually?

    3. Ryannumber1gamer

Jova, there’s a message at the top of the board saying in direct quotes “All your favourite themes will be reintroduced with this new design very soon”

    4. Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

Have seen nothing of the sort.

    5. Ryannumber1gamer

Well, it’s been appearing for me, so I don’t know what to tell you.

Exact message is “With the arrival of the new Sonical 2020 light and dark themes, we are sunsetting older, more broken themes. Rest assured, we will reintroduce all of your favourite themes with this new design, please bear with us and in the meantime, enjoy the future!”

    6. Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

Well, for whatever reason, that never showed up for me. Seems that's the same case for other people here too.

I don't know. Still if that is the case, then you can't blame folk for rightfully worrying.

    7. Ryannumber1gamer

Well I mean, Dread also posted about it in the Theme Update topic.

Thanks for the feedback, Solister! All good suggestions - definitely will work on them (although not sure how or why posting is going slow or buggy, might be a code/server thing).

The alt themes are going to be deprecated (they already should be - I thought I moved everyone over to the Sonical 2020 theme a while ago but I guess it didn’t take) as some of them are super old and the wonks on them won’t be fixed. Instead we will introduce new versions based on this new design (we just needed to finalise and get it 100% right before we started doing that). I just need to tighten up one or two things (the subforum icons being one of them!!) and we can get to work :)

And yes, the plan is to make sure there is some kind of uniformity between site and forum so at some point I’ll bring STK Maniacs over to SSMB, when I have time.

    8. Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

Don't follow that forum or thread. You'd have to go out of your way to know that.

    9. Dreadknux

I should probably move the Updates forum up to the top of the list then, eh? ;)

Yes, we'll be converting the old skins to the new design. May take a while, but we'll get there. Better for you to be using the latest design then something that's partially broken, that doesn't give you a good experience.

    10. Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

Ah, alright then. That clears everything up, thanks.

  18. That's....not what I said. Let's be honest. Much as we love to praise it, Sonic Mania wasn't exactly meant to be the big project of its debut year. That games Forces, the game that the Japan division was working. I don't know what's your problem with the situation, but don't act like a jerk. Even if Forces turned out good, Iizuka wouldn't have had any say in that matter, unless we'd be informed otherwise. The point is that a whole tone of blame gets misplaced onto the poor guy, simply because he's the most recognizable name on board, to the point where all the good he's done, gets terribly overlooked. And yeah, what Wraith said.
  19. Noooo! My Sticks theme! Augh! I don't like this change.

  20. That's the mistake a lot of people make in thinking what Iizuka is actually responsible for. He's more so in charge of stuff going on with the American division than the main Japanese division. Circling back to how he really didn't have anything to do with Forces and its development. And considering how SEGA of Japan tends to treat its American counterpart, it's no surprise the American side hasn't gotten as many chances to shine. A lot of the less savory choices have been made by SEGA higher ups. Iizuka just tends to get blamed because more often than not, he has to play mouthpiece for a lot of Sonic project stuff.
  21. Oh you've had quite the history in the past of doing that. Almost everything having to do with Sonic Mania coming to mind, especially with you trying to downplay the fact that he allowed and helped that game to be good.
  22. It's funny to hear that Cell and his saga are one of the rare examples of editorial mandates actually working out for the better.

    1. StaticMania

They weren't "mandates" though, the only thing Toriyama's actual editor had him do was make Cell transform.

The other guy wasn't his actual editor for the Cell arc, he's just a former editor Toriyama respected.

  23. Hey guys! Guess who just graduated college today and made it into the high honor rolls?

  24. There could also be a new section made for Nintendo Switch Friend Codes as well!
