  1. The Fallout 76 train is back in the news station and- yeah, I'm pretty sure that's illegal.

  2. "Mai wasn't a cameo because smash is for good boys and girls".

    Dayum Sakurai.

Beautiful as this may be, it could just as easily be fake and just an easy guess.

Phoenix would be great. Smash is all about the most interesting and fun characters. To many actual fighting ham me characters, like Ryo and Terry, would be a drag. You've got to have regular video game characters and real curve balls like Mr Game & Watch or Piranha Plant to keep it fun. Phoenix was already in a fighting game. But he's no less suited to Smash because of it.

No opinions on the supposed leak though.

Phoenix would be my next pick for a Capcom character, but I'm not sure he'd be big enough to lead out the initial lineup from the Fighter Pass. Considering three out of five have aimed to be big shock characters, I think they'd want to leave the final slot as the biggest surprise of all, especially since Joker was such a surprise reveal to the lineup.

I could see Phoenix in as one of the additional lineup characters, alongside perhaps Professor Layton.

@Ryannumber1gamer Sakurai and Nintendo have never really been about the big endings of character reveals. it's usually the big openers. Never really a BIG closer at least by general consensus' senses.

In terms of DLC, this has been the case in the past. Their big gun for Smash 4's DLC finale was Bayonetta being a fan voted character, one that no one thought would actually happen due to Bayonetta's mature rating. There's no reason they'd set up all of the DLC characters thus far as surprise reveals only to end it out with Phoenix who all things considered - is one of the most speculated characters.

    5. Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

Bayonetta was the actual end to all DLC though. The fifth fighter clearly isn't in Smash Ultimate's case.

Besides,  speculation be damned these days, considering how much just about any character is being speculated on. I doubt they care that much about surprising people over just amazing them.

Just because a character has been heavily speculated, doesn't hurt their chances.

I wouldn't complain about Phoenix, but it still weirds me the hell out that we already have a fucking Rathalos in the game and no Monster Hunter to go with it.

"Dear! Dear? Wake up! They finally announced Half-Life 3 and Bioshock 4 dear!"

  5. Bioshock is quite an interesting series. Used to be that everyone hated 2 and loved Infinite. Nowadays it's kind of the opposite.

People have grown to appreciate Bioshock 2 and all its qualities while people have picked up more on the problems with Infinite and how it kind of makes choices pointless.....among other things.

The first game has one of the best twists I've ever seen.

I still see people trashing 2. I don't mind that they don't like that game but it's pretty weird seeing so many of them wanting a BioShock 4 and being okay with it set in Rapture again. I don't think it's possible to make an interesting story in Rapture without getting into (even more) weird retconny territory about it which is just going to annoy people more than 2 and Infinite already have.

    3. Eurisko

      Eurisko

I must admit , I didn't play the second one. At some point I'm sure I will.

  6. Bless the Harts. the show about a bumbling family struggling to make ends meet. Gee. never heard that one before.....and from FOX no less.

  7. Why am I not surprised?

Wow. Ubi Soft used to be one of my favourites. With Rayman, Rabbids, Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed and Beyond Good and Evil, they hit bottom pretty hard and fast.

      ….And I don't feel sorry for them. 😕

    2. Strickerx5

      Strickerx5

Well let's be fair here. Besides Division 2 earlier in the year and whatever the fuck that Ghost Recon mess was, they're slate for the year was bone dry to begin with. There was no way they were going to match last year. I mean really, Just Dance for Wii is there big game going into this holiday lol

Though honestly, I think that's what a lot of publishers are currently going through. Not many of them are actually releasing big titles at the moment because the next generation is just around the corner. They're moving their resources to that.

  8. How funny.  The weather waits until tonight to be one of the worst storms. Thank goodness for indoor Halloween fun!

  9. Costumes I've seen at college so far: Godot from Ace Attorney, Miles Morales, some girl dressed up as Bowsette, some guy dressed up as black dress and hat Booette, Ranma, Charmander, the list goes on.

  10. Oh, hey look! Azoo's back again!

  11. I know when not to take vows of never returning here seriously.

  12. Guess what SSMB. It's that time of year again!

  13.

This is truly a thing of beauty for society.

here we are in the future

      and its wrong

  15. It's still continuing. Why is Fallout 76's mess still ongoing????

    1. Supah Berry

EA hadn't learn how to own up and actually fix their mistakes until they made a Star Wars game that got two negative posts and directly resulted in an investigation on lootboxes by the goverment.

So the lesson here is as long as the government doesn't call out Bethesda or Blizzard for their wrongdoing directly, they can do what they want scott free. Which won't be long, I'd wager.

  16. Don't really care about the FFs, but if we can get Sticks, Tangle and Whisper into the continuity, that would be nice.

  17. Capcom claim that they'll be looking into reviving dormant IPs. I want them to succeed but don't forget that is far from the first time they've claimed such.

    Remain cautiously optimistic.

    1. Thigolf

      Thigolf

The cynic in me thinks probably the usual "Here is a new game of the IP! - as a mobile spin-off noone really wanted"

      I want to hope, though.

Just pray to God that they don't mean more crappy reboots either.

      Devil May Cry is back

    4. Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

Devil May Cry was already back in some shape or form, what with DMC4's resurgence.

Besides,  Devil May Cry was never really considered dormant like a lot of other Capcom IPs.

    5. Wraith

      Wraith

Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition does not count as a new game

    6. Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

Just like how Ace Attorney being re-released for the umpteenth time this year isn't a new game, I know.

What I'm talking about is what people actually considered to be dormant.

Devil May Cry was definitely not something seen as dormant or abandoned.

And even still, we have yet to see how Capcom will do this time. Again, their reputation of doing great stuff cancelled out by equally stupid stuff occasionally,  still proceeds them for a good reason.

    7. Sean

      Sean

I don't even want an Okami 2 or Viewtiful 3 anymore... just give me Viewtiful Joe HD on Steam, that's all I ask ...

  18. Am I the only one here who misses the name history function of this site?

    1. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

I only miss out because I can no longer click find out who the heck everyone is.

    2. Maxtiis

      Maxtiis

Not a problem for those that never actually change it right?

    3. SenEDDtor Missile

      SenEDDtor Missile

Yeah, it was nice because of what @Blue Blood said. And like the name suggests, having a sort of history of your past names was nice to see where you started from.

    4. Crow the BOOLET

      Crow the BOOLET

Yeah it was fun to see what everyone had their name as.

I had a long list too.

      Spoiler

Though part of me is glad is gone. I actually use a part of my real name as a display name once and I don't want that information out there anymore.

    5. Conando

      Conando

That’s why I try to keep most of my original display name when going festive.

  19. Just when you thought Activision-Blizzard's good will couldn't get shot up anymore.

  20. Tom Holland is in this movie too alongside RDJ. Interesting.

  21. JK Simmons as Dr. Wily.

Mega Man was a hero, I just couldn’t see it. He was a...

      A FOOL

      A BUMBLING BLUE BOMBER

HES A MENACE TO MY ENTIRE ROBOTIC ARMY

I WANT HIS ROBOTIC HIDE IMPALED BY A BED OF SPIKES

      I WANT MEGA MAN

  22. I hear Paladins and Smite will being seeing quite a bit of business soon from the blizzardous fallout.

    1. Teoskaven

      Teoskaven

The thing to laugh the most about here is that despite everything, noone is still interested in playing Battleborne. If it came out just now instead of Borderlands 3 it would have been the perfect moment.

  23. Boy oh boy. Blizzcon 2019 is gonna be something special.

    1. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

To think this could "top" last year's event, and it hasn't even started yet.

For a company named after snowstorms, they sure do get melted alot.

Can imagine that they'll be cutting the stream quite a bit... if they stream at all at this point.

  24. JK Rowling: Hogearts used to not have plumbing or bathrooms. So they had to magic away their poo.

Yes, let's completely forego the fact that one of the founders literally hid a giant snake that could secretly attack students via the plumbing and pipes.

    1. Ryannumber1gamer

      Ryannumber1gamer

As long as we know that the snake was actually a time-travelling Neville Longbottom who wanted to payback for being frozen for a few hours in movie 1, it's all good

    2. Celestia

      Celestia

It was explained someone (a Slytherin, natch) was able to conceal the entrance while the bathroom was built. To go even further it's totally possible others, either immediately or later on, who knew about the chamber was able to change it so it connected directly to the plumbing.

All that said the whole "they used to vanish their poop" thing is still EXTREMELY funny.

    3. Boomer

      Boomer

But in the first book/film the troll attacked Hermione in the girls toilets...

  25. Hmm. A Sonic Adventure remake made by Bluepoint Games.  That could be interesting.

    1. Thigolf

      Thigolf

Has Bluepoint ever done something not Sony related?

    2. Teoskaven

      Teoskaven

Yes, the Metal Gear Solid 2-3-Peace Walker HD Collection.

    3. TheOcelot

      TheOcelot

They ported MGS2, MGS3 & MGS Peace Walker to last-gen consoles.

    4. Thigolf

      Thigolf

      Oh, well then.

Still, as great as it'd be, a SA remake by Bluepoint sounds really out there. Not that I'd complain.
