  1. Has it really been 3 years since @Failinhearts' mighty RP was born? Me oh my, how the times have flown by.

As a veteran of that operation which I've been with since January 2017, it's been quite an adventure.

Renovating time with my long-time friend @Ryannumber1Scarer. Let me tell you, he's been grand to me. A real friend, that one.

    Making new friends such as @Playmaker0122, @Bloxxerboy, @Polkadi~☆, @Cylvanisand of course @tailsBOOM!.

Cultivating time and investment with some of the artistic greats of SSMB like @Emperor Robrainiac, @Spin Attaxx, @MightyRay and @NegaMetallix.

Getting to know better my old guest commentator from the SCWRM show, @Crow the BOOLET.

Having the pleasure of matching with with my ever pleasant friend, @DanJ86

And it's been great fun with the likes of @Dee Dude and @DiamondX.

All and all as we March onward through time, thanks to all these people I can call friend,  it's an experience that I like to consider "an absolute win", thanks to you all.

    1. PublicEnemy1

I wish I was involved with this. Not a big fan of RP, but I would love to hang out with these people more.

      Hmmm. You looking to join?

    3. PublicEnemy1

I'd like to. I don't know how to properly RP, but I'll give it a shot.

Well now, I'll make sure to let @Failinhearts and company know that then.

  3. https://scans-daily.dreamwidth.org/8513295.html

Ah yes. Marvel made the ever so wise decision to title  new Spider-Man elseworlds series as....."Spider-Man ".

    I wish I were kidding.

    2. Marcello

I don't see the problem? The normal main series is "The Amazing Spider-Man". The in In-Universe spin-off is  "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man". Miles' is "Mile Morales: Spider-Man". It's still differentiated from the other series.

  4. Sigh. I just don't understand why they skipped the opportunity to add Pauline to MK8 MK8 Deluxe.

    1. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

Because they stopped supporting MK8D with proper content updates a long time ago? Labo support was a good showcase, but there's no reason to go in and add new content to the game.

    2. Strickerx5

Gotta save one actual character for the next game.

Gooigi and Silver Rosalina can only get em so far man

  5. So yes, in the mother lode of irony, Final Fantasy VII is coming physically on cartridges.

    1. Adamabba

Hmm I do want to buy FFVII at some point on Switch and it'd be really cool to have it physical but since FFVIII is gonna be on there too im probably won't like the price

    2. SenEDDtor Missile

      SenEDDtor Missile

      Why’s that ironic?

    3. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

      @SenEDDtor Missile

FF7 was one of the main reasons Square broke up with Nintendo and moved to Sony. The specs of the PSX disc were more suitable to Square's needs than if they were to try making the game for the crummy N64 cartridges.

TBH, Nintendo still gets the short end of the stick here when the big Remake of this game is getting released only on the disk based consoles (for now). So this irony means nothing.

  6. 584.jpgSo, Smash Bros Ultimate was essentially the last ever mission given to Sakurai by Iwata. That really puts things into perspective with the work put into this installment.

  7. First we got Wii Fit Trainer into Smash.

We're so going to get Fitness Soldier Girl in too aren't we? XD

    1. DanJ86

They could add it as an alternate colour for Wii Fit Trainer.

  8. October can't come soon enough.

  9. Well, going off of the reception to Star Wars Episode 9's trailer,  it's quite amazing to see the damage that three lackluster films in a row can do to good will.

    1. The Tenth Doctor

      The Tenth Doctor

Last Jedi and Solo are lackluster but are you calling Rogue One that too? It did well didn't it?

    2. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

I take it reception isn't good?

    3. Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

@The Tenth Doctor Rogue One has gone on to be recalled as decent at best by some and drab by others for having underdeveloped characters, a half-baked story, etc.

@Balding Spider Let's see. A lot are hoping that it'll all just turn out to be Luke Skywalker waking up from a bad dream. Absolutely no one is buying Dark Rey actually being a thing. A lot of talk is how downhill the franchise has been feeling compared to even the prequels. And so on so forth.

    4. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

@Jovahexeon Ogilvie Maurice First off, I'm glad no one is falling for the Darth Rey stuff. Second I would laugh all the way to the grave if this all turned out to be dream.

    5. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

People have likely been so burned by the prior films that they are ultimately content if the ends where the creators torch the whole franchise forever and run if it meant it "can have peace" at long last. I for one hold on that a ROTS situation falls through with it.

    6. Ryannumber1gamer

I am so out of the loop, Palpatine is alive again now or something?

    7. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

@Ryannumber1gamer He's probably a Sith ghost or something from the old expanded universe that isn't cannon anymore except when Disney says it is.

    8. Solister

Well, I'm not sure but I'm loving the memes:

Talking serious now, as seen in my review topic, I think Rogue One is a pretty consistent movie (Not just voted as my favorite from the Sequels (Disney Era) as well my all time favorite). Solo was pretty meh and personally, despite expanding a few ideas, is the most useless in the saga. But going straight to the point (VII-IX), I liked VII but think it was too much The Force A New Hope, for example, it was useless for the development of the trilogy blow up Starkiller Base in the very first movie of the trilogy. The Last Jedi speeches much but tells just a few, even if Luke didn't wanted to train Rey, it would be better she already start training by herself (As it seems to be shown in Episode IX).

But idk, seems that only now they will do the proper episode VII as if Sidous (And maybe Vader) didn't have died, exploring older planets like Death Star II remnants and maybe Endor and likely almost forgetting Lando Carissian was a thing. tbh, I'm wishing all the best for the movie as a Star Wars fans I want to this beat Rogue One and be my favorite movie of the saga, I'm also avoiding any types of journals about the movie neither going too deep in theories because I think this was what ruined Episode VIII for me (Despite I mainly just took my Episodes VIII bets and renamed it Episode IX bets).

Still being optimist, I compare to the Prequels, were I was mediocre to good, II was terrible and III was near-perfect, it seems it fits perfectly here.

Edit: Sorry for the long reply, though.

    9. dbzfan7

Well as much as I don't like Last Jedi, Rogue one still takes the cake for most boring film ever. When your robot character is more human than your human characters, something is wrong. So much so when I asked my family I went to see it with me who said they liked it, I asked. Tell me the characters names. They couldn't do it. They had no idea. They could name people from all the other 3 trilogies, but no one in this movie outside of Vader, Tarkin, and Leia.

One of the rare movies where I want to leave so badly while it's playing.

    10. Solister

Don't talk bad about Rogue One!

But wow, really? Am I that alone liking Rogue One? I think the movie is, in fact, the pretty oppose. Meanwhile Luke, Leia and Solo needed a trilogy to build their identity, Rogue One made me affect with their characters as much as I had with the "main" ones. Alright, I assume I'm talking this mainly for Jyn and the other ones could be a bit despicable but if the story actually weren't that "intended", I definitely would love to see Jyn and Cassian in another adventure. Yeah, K-2SO could be better but here it does what C-3PO and R2-D2 did in the franchise but in a single droid and with a new face, if so, I think L3-37 from Solo is waaay worse than K-2SO as it's just a copy from this one as it's also a copy from C-3PO and R2-D2.

    11. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

I liked most of Rogue One. Keyword being most, the CG Tarkin and whatever the hell accent Forest Whitaker was doing was staright up bad.

    12. The Tenth Doctor

      The Tenth Doctor

Rogue One was darn good in my opinion. Yeah, I don't remember the original characters names apart from Jyn, Cassian, K2SO and Krennic but heck, I actually really liked the last two. I felt for them enough as they all met their fate and really bought the story. It did what it needed.

Solo had L3-37 (leet speak, really?) so loses a lot of points.

  10. I'm really stupefied that we didn't get a Gruntilda Final Battle remix for Smash, let alone even the song itself in Smash.

  11. We may have lost Spider-Man in the MCU, but we may get Phoenix Wright into Smash.

  12. So folks. If Breath of the Wild 2 can be a thing, maybe we'll be getting a complimentary Super Mario Odyssey 2 announcement?

    1. Bloxxerboy

I think they’re going to name it Super Mega Mario Odyssey.

    2. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

Kate Higgins doing an English cover of "Go Go Mario," please

  13. Maybe we'll finally get to see those final forms of the Gen 8 starters at the direct tomorrow.

    1. Soniman

BRUH we haven't even seen the first evolutions LOL

  14. Arkham City > Arkham Origins > Arkham Asylum > Arkham Knight >> Arkham City Lockdown >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Arkham Origins Blackgate

    1. Strickerx5

      City = Knight > Origins > Asylum

blackgate didn't even make the list

  15. Arkham Knight is fun, but in many ways, between its lackluster story, poor handling of the Rogues Gallery,  forced Batmobile and whatnot, it feels like the weakest of the Arkham games.

    1. Strickerx5

Honestly, I’d personally say the gameplay alone keeps it from that spot (which to me sort of belongs to Asylum). Even the batmobile gameplay, while overly abundant,  is fun af to me.

    2. Wraith

      It's a really bad game

    3. Strickerx5

      @Wraith ur a bad gaem

  16. http://www.ladbible.com/news/film-and-tv-spider-man-wont-be-returning-to-mcu-20190825

Welp. Don't be expecting Spider-Man's return to the MCU anytime soon.

    2. Your Vest Friend

      Your Vest Friend

Pretty sure Sony is too big to fold just like that.

    3. Milo

so it's settled then. kinda funny how this all fell apart after just only three years, lol.

so does this mean watts/holland are going to continue making spider-man films, or sony's going to reboot it once again after this

    4. Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

@Milo Reportedly, Watts is not signed on for any more Spider-mna flicks at the moment.

  17. Black Panther 2 release date ahoy for May 6th.....2022.

  18. I remember when peeps thought that Gamescom was actually gonna be THE event to replace E3 when it came to games announcements. Well, certainly not this year. Kek.

    1. Tornado

I think a lot of that push was because Sony was using it as their preeminent media event for a few years.

Then they abandoned that too, more or less.

    2. Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

Eh, honestly, the announcements at Gamescom's conference, Death Stranding aside, while good at some points weren't exactly on par with the best of E3. Don't know if even a full showing from Sony would've done the trick either.

  19. Oh boy Disney. Pissing off Stan Lee's daughter, making more of a mess out of Star Wars,  screwing up their Spidey deal with greed, and now potentially being responsible of cooking the books to make some of their films like Captain Marvel or Aladdin appear to make more money than they actually did.

It could the makings of big trouble for them. Especially if that last bit turns out to be true and on the inside they're hurting financially.

    1. Marcello

How are they making "more" of a mess of Star Wars?

    2. AdventChild

@Marcello Well, basically the flop that is Galaxy's Edge and how it's basically a ghost town at their California park. Not to mention how their is only ONE Star Wars themed ride open and the other closed til end of this year. Also, it's pretty stupid expensive, I mean, $200 for a plastic light saber? C'mon! Speaking of which, recently their SW themed hotel will cost $1000 per night:

    3. Emperor Robrainiac

      Emperor Robrainiac

I really hate to be devils advocate and I'm probably not going be able to defend my opinion very well, but speaking as someone who visited on a cast preview of Galaxy's edge, I didn't think it was that bad... I loved it actually.

Hell, I don't know where people are getting "Plastic Lightsabers" from. I bought one and I love it. Overpriced? Sure, but it definitely isn't plastic like the cheap toy ones you can get anywhere else in the park. Judge me all you want, but I got it.

I'm sorry if I'm coming across as annoyed over something so petty, but most of the videos I've seen on Galaxys Edge's almost seems as if they're celebrating it's failiure. I get and understand how Last Jedi burnt people out of Star Wars, but I never understood how people can root for something to fail.

Though if its any consolation and to show I'm not a complete apologist, I can't defend Disney delaying the opening of "Rise of the Resistance" nor the Hotel being 1000 dollars per night though. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if Disney is paying off their own movies. That would explain the success of the Lion King and other live action remakes despite almost everybody being against them.

    4. Operationgamer17
    5. Speederino

Disney of all companies is not and probably never will be hurting for money. They could buy up fifteen small countries and still have more money than any of us could fathom.

    6. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

First the decedent of Disney himself lashed out at them, now Stan Lee's (direct) descendant too. Theses protesters are growing every day as Disney itself grows.

  20. Spider-Man 94 series. Was supposed to go on, but got killed thanks to Avi Arad.

Spider-Man Raimi series. 4th movie killed thanks to Avi Arad and Sony's meddling.

Spectacular Spider-Man series. Killed before a proper conclusion to the cliffhanger that is Season 2.

Amazing Spider-Man duology. Bleh series that got meddles with and Sony have even had a falling out with its main lead.

    Even MCU Spidey has fallen.

So....how are they gonna ruin Spider-Verse?

    1. Ryannumber1gamer

Either micromanage it to hell, killing what made it so unique in the first place, as they did with Spidey 3, or milk it dry via spin offs.

    2. Emperor Robrainiac

      Emperor Robrainiac

Yeah, knowing Sony's track record I'm pretty nervous to see how Spider-Verse will turn out.

The news about spin-offs ad sequels was exciting at first, but the more I think back on Sony's history, the more cautious I get about them.

    3. Speederino

Tbf, Spectacular wasn’t Sony’s fault. That was more on Disney for swooping in and buying Marvel out of the blue.

  21. https://nypost.com/2019/04/08/hedgie-to-pitch-sony-on-selling-off-entertainment-division/

Well, if this ever comes to fruition, I wonder who'll be at the fore front to buy them.

    1. Speederino

It looks like Amazon wants them but come on we all know exactly how this would end.

    2. The Tenth Doctor

      The Tenth Doctor

Sony: Who wants our movie stuff?

      Disney: Me! Me!

Sony: Sure, you can have The Emoji Movie.

  22. Maybe Far From Home was just all one big illusion.....is what the retcons will probably be.

  23. 30+ updates. I see the news of Spider-Man got out.

    1. Thigolf

Yes, because the MCU did so badly without Spiderman

    2. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

@Jovahexeon Ogilvie Maurice I mean there was already a roadmap without Spider-man in it. *sigh* Well at least the games are safe.

    3. Ferno

they HAD to have that cliffhanger at the end of far from home

    4. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

How is this story going to work if Peter can't hero worship the MCU's greatest villain?

    5. Jango

Fuck, I was reading about this right now. Sigh... This is exactly what I didn't wanted. They gonna put him in Venom 2, aren't they? Ugh.

    6. Zaysho

I don't really follow or care about MCU, but it's just really funny to me that Disney can't even control their own IP.

    7. Balding Spider

      Balding Spider

You know this sort of helps destroy the illusion of them having all this planned out, especially given where FFH left off. I mean why have it end like that if the deal could fall-though so easily?

    8. Ferno

kinda sad that we wont get an MCU spidey on the interesting take exploring a world where everyone knows who Spider-Man is.

Instead its probably gonna be a thing where its implied/ mentioned once or twice by other MCU Avengers that Spider-Man was more or less "defeated" when his identity was revealed and that he retired from hero work altogether or something like that

    9. Milo

"Led by Tom Rothman and Tony Vinciquerra, Sony just simply didn’t want to share its biggest franchise. Sony proposed keeping the arrangement going under the current terms where Marvel receives in the range of 5% of first dollar gross, sources said. Disney refused."

lmao OF COURSE Tom Rothman was instrumental in derailing the MCU/Spider-Man deal that was being negotiated. His track record with Marvel properties when he was at Fox (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Fant4stic 2015, and having zero faith in Deadpool) speaks for itself.

    10. Wraith

That's what Disney gets for getting greedy. They can get fucked

  24. I've officially begun a playthrough of Batman the Telltale Series. Want to see what all the buzz is about.
