We don't know exactly what this entails though while experienced. It could be a very peaceful feeling for all we know.

I did. I was slightly curious. Now I hope I don't remember it.

      I just clicked it.

I am now in a state of panic, and my existential crisis came back in full force.

It says that it may be similar to the consciousness experienced while asleep. This is why I believe it may a more peaceful/pleasant sensation then one may think. It may feel like falling asleep in the way that you don't remember doing it, except now forever.

It's just a freaky thought. Combine that with a natural fear, it's generally expected that we don't like that.

So like, can you compare it to that medicine that they give you before you have surgery?

@Booblur99 Honestly that was what was coming to my mind. I don't know if it would be like that tbh.

I don't really know how to help out with this kind of stuff, but if it was painful you guys I'm sure the survivors would have told about the experience from their first-hand experience. From what it sounds like it's just... a state of being.

If it's about the implications, though, I dunno how to help out there...

what does that even mean? if you're conscious, that sounds like you're still dying, not dead. what's "dead" even mean if you can be conscious during it?

    16. The Deleter

      The Deleter

@Diogenes: Clinical Death is when the heart stops beating and your body stops breathing. The actual death of the brain happens 20 to 30 seconds afterwards.

The article is about consciousness remaining and remembering events around it up to 3 minutes after death, according to the tests and studies, with no signs of traceable brain activity for the entire duration. So technically, they are as "dead" as we can define it so far. Just because consciousness remains doesn't mean that definition is bucked, really...
