Up isn't even in the top ten?

      Your opinion is bullshit.

tbh i wish this was poor unfortunate souls that got the reanimated treatment.

      Monkey Destruction Switch

      Yeah, that was pretty incredible.

  3. I like how Dreamworks Animation have recently been following the Disney trend of numbering their animated films with their DVD releases.

The only downside to that plan is being reminded that freaking ANTZ is basically their Snow White.

  4. Chris Pratt is still a prick but God damn is he good at playing loveable characters.

  5. I wonder what specific standards a Fox show has to adhere to so they can be streamed on Disney+?

The Simpsons is getting full streaming there, even though it really only barely falls under the “family-friendly” scope. Going by that as an example, I don’t see what’s stopping them from streaming stuff like Bob’s Burgers or Futurama.

    1. The Tenth Doctor

      The Tenth Doctor

Well Futurama isn't owned by Fox any more right? Thought it was Comedy Central now.

Also, is the Michael Jackson episode of the Simpons on there? I did like 'Stark Raving Dad' back then.

    2. AlphaRuby

      AlphaRuby

That's just the network rights to show the...well, show.

      It's still made from Fox.

    3. Chili Dawg

      Chili Dawg

@The Tenth Doctor Stark Raving Dad is unfortunately banned from everything ever

Bob's Burgers and Futurama I figure they could get away with. But maybe Futurama's TV-14 rating is just too far above their family friendly PG-13 threshold

I am kind of curious to find out if the UK version will still be streaming those few episodes that British broadcasters consider “too hot for (pre-watershed) TV”.

Yet they make a witch the main villian.

Practically not appropriate in any era.

    2. The Tenth Doctor

      The Tenth Doctor

I think its dumb how they say they are aiming for realism, which is why they have cut Mushu. Immediatly after telling us this they show us that they have introduced a witch character who can turn into a phoenix or something.

    3. DanJ86

      DanJ86

      Ew, a BBC article. I ain't touching that. :P

Thankfully, based on the replies, I know what this is about. It sounds like this live action Mulan is being made specifically to cater to the Chinese audience. Hence all the changes that seem to be pushing away fans of the original. The original that China didn't really like so much.

In the end, this movie might not be seen by anyone. The Corona Virus has pretty much screwed over Disney.

Please stay healthy out there, friends.

  6. Remember when Archie got so paranoid over Penders kicking off again that they gave him top billing on this graphic novel in which his only contribution was the lettering of a single backup story?

      Ryannumber1gamer

This wasn't the only book, there was a ton he didn't work on at all that he got top billing on.

  7. Random thought:

Just like the games, Archie Sonic could also be seen as being split into three different eras; Classic (StH#1-#159), Pre-SGW Flynn (StH#160-#247), and Post-SGW Flynn (StH#252-#290).

    The graphic novel releases even kind of unintentionally enforced this idea;

    1. Soniman

      Soniman

Personally I see the classic era as 1-50, everything after that but before Flynn as the Dark Age where all the memes and bad word of mouth for the comic mainly comes from (not everything was bad but it had the highest concentration of crap). The Flynn Era, and finally the SGW Era

  8. “Why does Ken Penders write all of our dialogue like this, Sonic the Hedgehog?”

“Now that’s not very fair, Princess Sally! You know as well as I do that Karl Bollars also writes our dialogue in a similar vein!”

“But only Penders likes to finish most of our sentences with exclamation points! He’s also prolific when it comes to putting emphasis on random words!”

“That is true, Miles “Tails” Prower!”

    1. PC the Hedgehog

      PC the Hedgehog

I was always amused how, as his run went on, Penders would gradually use more! and more!! exclamation points!!!!!!!

      PC the Hedgehog

@Ryannumber1gamer To be fair, that was something the comic did from the very first issue. I wouldn't say that's something Ken could be blamed for.

    6. Monkey Destruction Switch

      Monkey Destruction Switch

@PC the Hedgehog Yes, and in that context it's fine, but Ken does it in other contexts such as tweets. It always looks ridiculous to me.

@Monkey Destruction Switch Oh, really? Never noticed. Yeah, that's weird.

  9. MSBE’s English dub is pretty alright. A few questionable voice directions here and there, and I still hate Misty’s new voice, but still an admirable effort.

      From Mobius Encyclopedia

Prior to Knuckles' birth, his father Locke received a vision from the Ancient Walkers that warned him of a threat that would one day come upon Mobius and that his son would have to stand against. As a result, Locke performed experiments on himself and later on Knuckles' unhatched egg, all for the purpose of creating the ultimate Guardian.

  12. So having watched episodes 49 and 50 of Sonic X again for the first time in over a decade, I can say this with certainty:

Ian Flynn’s headcanon about where the latter half of the Sonic X comic takes place doesn’t work. Like, at all.

Archie’s Sonic X is alt canon in my mind from now on.

  13. What’s especially annoying about the Archie Mega Man situation is that Archie are still selling the series on their app, indicating that they *still* have the license.

    1. Zaysho

      Zaysho

I'm mostly annoyed they won't discount the fucking books so I can pick up the earlier arcs.

  14. I honestly wasn’t aware Archie’s Mega Man was in danger of being canned even before the first crossover, with said crossover being what gave it a second wind.

    1. Ryannumber1gamer

      Ryannumber1gamer

Ironically, Ian's also said before on Bumbleking that MM before the hiatus was actually doing fine, sales wise. It just got canned

      for no good reason

      other than for rebooted archie

  15. Ugh, whenever I try to put two or more spoiler tags in a post, it always ends up as a spoiler tag within a spoiler tag. What am I doing wrong?

    2. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

Seems to be working fine on my end. Are you sure that you're closing your first spoiler tag before opening the second? I've had an issue in the past with spoiler tags appearing within spoiler tags or my entire post after the opening tag appearing within spoilers if I don't close the tags properly.

This site makes it a nightmare to move text once it's in a quote/spoiler box...

    6. Big Panda

      Big Panda

I am absolutely, 100% positive I closed the first tag. I consciously made sure of it due to how many times it’s happened before.

    7. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

Fair enough. The board does fuck up spoiler/quote boxes and even embedded images quite often. Trying to move any of them after they're formatted is nigh-impossible, so it doesn't surprise me that the board also gets the formatting wrong to begin with.

  16. The novelisation of the Sonic movie reveals a couple of details about Longclaw and the echidnas that I don’t think was in the actual movie.

    1. Thigolf

      Thigolf

      Oh, do tell, please.

    2. Big Panda

      Big Panda

Longclaw is the last of a noble line of warrior owls who were tasked with maintaining order for all living creatures.

The echidnas who chased Sonic are apparently in allegiance with some “powerful warlords” who want to use Sonic’s chaos power to overtake the world.

  17. Why does Knuckles keep the Master Emerald out in the open?

    1. Diogenes

      Diogenes

      Because cool stuff.

  18. I feel like (movie spoiler):

Colleen Villard’s role as Tails in the movie is probably just a temporary thing, and that they’ll recast him with a higher-profile actor in the sequel.

  19. Has there ever been a minor detail in a canon that you choose to ignore because you don’t care for it?

With the Pokemon universe, I’ve honestly never cared for the whole made up “Pokemon world language” that was implemented in later generations. I liked how early episodes of the anime would openly put Japanese writing in their backgrounds, and generally just the way they actively made Kanto feel like it actually was an alternate-dimension Japan.

I prefer to interpret the different Pokemon regions actually having the languages that their realworld counterparts use as their native language (people in Kalos speaking French).

Like the whole Star Wars Sequels and that Sonic comes from another planet?

I mean, I actually believe it's easier to me say what canon I truly accept than rather mention which I doesn't.

Because really, music artists which I disagree with an opinion, stylistic choices or simply a track I prefer believe it doesn't exist. There are many things I "follow" which I just appreciate like 70% of their work. But trying to do a very short nutshell of my life, these are some which come into my mind:

Video Games: Sonic is not from this planet, Sonic 06 actually happened (sorta), Tomb Raider has supernatural things, (The) Sims aren't humans.

Star Wars: Actually half of the Prequels and Sequels are canon. Luke once kissed Leia, Luke, Han, Leia and Yoda are actually dead.

Music: Any explicit content from my favorite bands, tracks I don't like, some opinion I don't totally agree.

Some Books I wrote: I mean, this is very ironic, but with time, I don't like some stories I've wrote and meanwhile I'm trying to do my own universe linking my stories, the most unsuccessful ones are usually discarded and called not canon.

Life: I mean, we live in a rough world. Sometimes I feel better believing that atrocities like World War II and mostly Medieval Age inquisition didn't happened at all or there's people at this moment suffering from cold, hungry and diseases because otherwise, I don't think we actually could live.

I think for now that's it. Certainly an interesting point which could lead to a cool topic.

  20. It took almost a decade, but Ash finally found his way to Unova’s Desert Resort today.

  21. Is Sonic Spinball canon to the overall game universe?

    1. Ferno

      Ferno

given that its the "american funky action" game not made by sonic team, I don't think they count it

    2. Diogenes

    3. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

I think the SATAM characters a the clearly Assface Sonic design answers that question for you.

  22. Can we talk about the fact that West Side Island is often depicted as much bigger than South Island in most media, and yet the latter somehow has way more zones crammed in?

    1. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

We could also instead about the fact that these islands are rarely shown consistently and are poorly established within the game series as a whole, and therefore talking about the number of zones within each relative to their size is arbitrary.

    2. Dr. Mechano

      Dr. Mechano

South Island has the benefit of being in way more games, so more additional zones could be added to it over time.

Westside Island probably does have more zones that we haven't seen in Sonic 2. Mania introduced Mirage Saloon for example, which logically has to be on Westside since it's on the same landmass as Oil Ocean.

So there could be yet more zones on Westside that we just haven't seen so far.

    3. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

Like Sonic Team even remembers South and West Side Islands, let alone tell the difference between the two. Pratically every region in the world has a Green Hills and Chemical Plant at this point.
