  1. Been replaying Generations in preparation for Forces, and MAN, is it infuriating! The controls aren't nearly as smooth as I remember and really showcase Sonic Team's lack of knowledge regarding both classic Sonic physics and creating a modern Sonic game engine that is conducive to good platforming. And don't get me started on how they basically gave us a 2-hour game crammed with unnecessary and unfun missions to try to justify the price tag. For a game celebrating Sonic's 20 year career, Generations should be SO much better than it actually is.

people scoffed and guffawed and heehee'd from the rafters at me years ago when I would say the game was pretty subpar and didnt live up to it's potential or the previous HD sonic before it

but the foot is on the other glove now

Yeah, I always personally thought it paled to Unleashed but was pretty good in its own right. I mean, it's still not bad by any means, but again, it had potential to be so, so much better than it ended up being.

      Gens controls are trash imo.

I hope Forces makes them much smoother.

i will give gens it's drift

that drift was an improvement and an interesting way to cheat the spindash back into his moveset without actually putting it back in, but i did miss the old drift animation

I used to give it flack for it's controls and the boost/new air dash, but now that Forces is releasing it looks like a masterpiece in comparison, so I dunno if I should be that hard on it anymore, when it did a lot of amazing stuff I wanted out of the level design in the first place...

Gens controls are an enormous improvement from unleashed but it isn't where it should be imo.

Other things like Level design are kind of a downgrade as well.

I still think Modern Sonic's controls and stages are pretty much the best they've ever been, but man after playing Mania, Gens' Classic Sonic feels freaking atrocious. He's so heavy, and every movement feels like you have to break speed.

Oh also I absolutely did not care for it as a game at all. Playing individual levels was great, but Colors felt like a much better game overall at the time, despite the level design it featured...

Ive been playing it a lot recently and I cant really agree with most of this so eh.
