  1. Following the latest issue's nod to Open Your Heart; it has occured to me that the current IDW Sonic arc is pretty much the definition of the first verse and chorus of the song, anybody else notice that?

    1. Big Panda

      Big Panda

The only part that’s missing is “water rising”.

  2. 0:54 "In three days- I will conqour the WORLD! Think YOU can stop me!? MUUU~HAHAHAHAAA!!!"
  3. I kinda get why some people might not be exited for Sonic Forces, but why all the HATE? It hasn't come out yet and we haven't even seen much of the game beyond Park avenue

      Its like they say

"There's some kind of love and there's some kind of hate"

    2. Dejimon11

      TLDR: First impressions matter.

The very fact that they WON'T show anything beyond Park Avenue is cause for alarm in of itself, because it implies we won't like what we see beyond that.

Not to mention it's easily comparitively weaker to other games we've seen in this stage of development. It's not difficult to compare Park Avenue to Gens Green Hill and make an observation that level design has gotten visibly worse by that standard, even if neither stage is particularly ideal level design.

It gets hate because it looks bad. Simple.

What @Blacklightning said. I for one believe these stages are deliberately simple (being both demo stages to show off and look pretty and early game bab-design) and the rest of the game is probably more open, but I won't deny that they've made a bad choice in the drip-feed of variety we've had for the past six months.

I don't totally agree with that being cause for alarm though, because I'm used to the marketing for these things being fuckin' dumb. I mean Rise of Lyric only got that "lighting? who needs it?" footage for months, and the rest of the game wasn't any worse than that (it was thoroughly mediocre, but that's beside the point).

  4. My Youtube channel's been gathering dust for quite a while now, so last night I decided to try something different than usual and made a video where I voiced Sonic playing Mirror's Edge. I was wandering if anybody here would like me to do more videos like this in the future ^^
  5. I reckon that All Time Low could make a pretty decent Sonic theme, try listening to 'Let It Roll' with the speed increased, it's awesome XD
  6. The SSMB's 'unofficial official' SKYPE CHAT is up!

  7. Desert/Casino hybrid: A stage that starts off with Sonic going through a desert that eventually transitions into a casino city, kinda like Vegas. Future City: A stage that is based around time travel, the main stage is set in a futuristic city which leads to a time portal half way through that sends you to a past version of the city, then depending on what route you take or what you destroy; the future city you return to and finish the stage in will be completely different. Sewer/Subway hybrid: These are two settings we've never really seen Sonic in before, the main stage would be set in the subway tunnels where you dodge trains and grind on tracks, the sewer would be a more platformer heavy alternate route that has dozens of pitfalls and water traps to fall into. Tokyopolis: Simply a stage based on the city of Tokyo, it would be a very interesting setting to bring to the franchise that has not been seen before.
  8. Wait, hang on. There was an Underground reference? WHAT DID I MISS???
  9. Could anyone link me to some reliable information about Sonic Generations' ad campaign?

    1. FriendBot

      like what info on it?

    2. speedhog58

Where it was advertised, how it was advertised, what regulations it had to follow.

      Anything like that.

    3. FriendBot

oh, uh i wasn't really that big on gens' advertising.

  10. Damn, I really want to audition for this! What's the minimum mic quality?
  11. Who here still celebrates Halloween?

    1. Tatters

      My family does still.

Heck my older sister still likes to dress up to go to Halloween with my younger brother to get more candy.

    2. Darinian

I dont, my neighborhood isn't that safe.

    3. Nepenthe

      I go out in costume.

    4. Strickerx5

If by celebrate you mean going to the store, buying candy I actually like, and sitting at home eating it while watching something spooky related then yeah, I guess I do.

  12. I'm calling it now, the song used for the Sonic trailer will be Technicolour by Madeon!

    1. KHCast

I hope it's pay no mind or the city

    2. The drunkard from space!

      The drunkard from space!

I wont mind as long as the song is good. Is it?

    3. speedhog58

It's either gonna be Technicolour or The City, although I say Technicolour is more likely due to it using an old Sonic jumping sound in one of it's sequences.

  13. I've always had a few ideas for how some of the characters should be portrayed... Shadow- I'd make him a bit less antagonistic and a lot more dry and sarcastic; giving off a very 'I'm surrounded by idiots' feel, I'd probably take a few aspects from Wolverine's character from X-Men and mix them in with how he interacts with the other characters. Silver- I'd definitely take advantage of his time travel background when re-doing his personality, since he's from the future I reckon it would make sense for him to be a bit paranoid; constantly worrying that he's gonna do something that screws up the timeline, it would also be interesting for his personality (and maybe appearance) to become inconsistent as he keep travelling back to Sonic's time from a different future every time. Big- Essentially the way he was used in Sonic Adventure 2; a background gag, being occasionally seen fishing in the background or being in the wrong place at the wrong time during a destructive action stage... Charmy- A key point of Charmy's personality that is not often represented in the games is his complete and utter lack of fear in ANY situation, I'd use this trait to portray Charmy as kid who's completely oblivious to all the danger around him; the kinda kid that'd would rather spit and laugh at a giant killer robot rather than running away. That's all I can think of right now...
  14. Honestly; I think that something in the vain of Ultimate Spiderman would suit Sonic pretty well, heck; I'd even be alright if they added cutaways and those chibi things from the show...
