  1. there are few things that never stop being funny

      Someone thought this was funny?

    2. Biggs

well clearly you don't, thanks for sharing x

  2. I'm glad they brought back the midair flips, that was such a great feature in ASRT. Graphics look better in motion too and the Wisps look like decent powerups. Overall looks pretty great so far and this is only a snippet of gameplay. Can't wait to see what's next. Pretty hyped tbh. I have a lot of faith in Sumo.
  3. Time travel stories are weird to begin with anyway in a series not well known for them. Besides CD (06 doesn't count because it's Sonic 06). Not that it's bad to be weird. In CD and Generations it was justifiable. In Forces it wasn't. It wasn't even a time travel story in Forces but a dimension leaping one... I think? Not that it's much different but still
  4. I could be talking right out of my arse here so if anyone wants to own me feel free to do so, but what I don't understand is why Sonic Team needs their own engine for their games. We're at a point where hardware and third party engines are powerful enough and have enough utility to create giant open worlds with billions of NPCs and dynamic night-day and weather cycles. Creating an engine from scratch just seems like a waste of time and money that makes game development harder. They've never even licensed the Hedgehog Engine out or, to my knowledge, even used it in other Sega games besides the Mario and Sonic entries on Wii U. If fans can make seriously good Sonic engines with proper physics in Unity then Sonic Team could probably pull off something remarkable in UE4 or whatever. To my knowledge Sonic Team used (and might still use idk) Havok as a base for even the character physics and said that's why Classic Sonic wasn't 1:1 with the original games physics wise, so they already use third party engines for much of development. So what is the point in the Hedgehog Engine 2 besides some admittedly gorgeous lighting that third party engines can do? Again I could be talking utter shite, but I remember someone here saying it doesn't even work well with streaming large levels, so... that's kind of a big problem as well. If true.
  5. *walks out from behind tree*

    oh shit i'm sorry

    1. Failinhearts

      THERE HE IS.

      GET HIM.

  6. Metal Sonic because he is factually the coolest character from anything ever. Knuckles is also a top lad. Brilliant design, heart in the right place, makes mistakes, but pretty collected, and his chuckle from Sonic 3 is the best.
  7. More hyped for the racing game than I was for forces already

      Mania Plus hype:

      TSR hype:

      Forces hype was something like:

Image result for you serious gif

I honestly am more excited for TSR than Mania Plus atm, $5 DLC probably won't rock my world, the encore mode doesn't seem to change the levels much at all 😕 Hopefully the "leak" of the encore levels from the PS4 update was just the levels in a clearly super early state and more things are changed.

But yeah still more hyped for it than Forces lmao.

    3. TheOcelot

There's every reason to believe TSR will be good because S&SASR and SASRT are decent games. I just want a car-racer (would prefer on-foot) which is both challenging and fun to play and replay.

Mania Plus is effectively the inclusion of lots of cut-content from the original game (and some new stuff) making it a far more complete experience. The 1.04 leaked update definitely doesn't have the finished version of Encore mode in terms of level-design.

Sumo racing track record is a log better than Sonic Team platformer record... So even if a lot of us seem kinda lukewarm I gots de faith

  8. "All I wanted to do with this channel is roast crazy social justice warriors" Lmao thanks for letting me know, now I know not to click on your videos. Doubt this will pass anyway.
  9. Stepping on a snail is a surefire way of making yourself feel like shit for the rest of the day

  10. Hyped for yet another seaside hill remake

  11. Just mentioned this in a status update comment. Sonic 4: Episode II has pretty nice controls and physics and besides Mania are the best since the Advance games. I prefer it to Generations. Speaking of which Generations Classic Sonic kind of controls like trash and isn't much better than he was in Forces. In fact in Forces he actually gains speed when rolling down hills and has the badnik bounce and generally feels more responsive. Not that it feels any better due to other problems but still.
  12. Old news I know but this OST is gorgeous
  13. how do you even pronounce "Automata" anyway? To me it's "auto-mahta".

      Your Vest Friend

      no it's clearly "aw, tomato"

As in a car with mass or word play on the word automated (the latter refering to the androids in the game).

  14. Just "beat" Automata for the first time. Now for the other 400 endings...

  15. I've never understood decimal review scores. Rating a game on a 20 point scale (IE. 8.5, 9.0 etc.) seems ridiculous but a few years back IGN have started using a 100 point scale. How the fuck can you give a game a score of 8.7 or 5.2 or 9.6? Their scores aren't even an aggregation of scores by multiple reviewers, it's just one reviewer plucking these bollocks numbers out of mid air.
  16. Been replaying Resident Evil 6 (followed by 5). I think 6 is a stupidly underrated game and the Mercenaries mode alone makes it a fantastic action game. Just because it has an ass-load of niggles (most of which I tend to agree with the general consensus on), for me, they don't detract from the exceptional mobility and rich mechanics the game offers, as well as the absurd and diverse action sequences it has. I honestly feel some of its mechanics are as revolutionary as Resi 4's were in some ways. It's not the same Resi as before but it's a roller-coaster ride and I absolutely love it. Once you master the admittedly complicated controls it's great fun. I've been trying to 150 combo the first map of Mercenaries mode with all the characters. SO addictive. I also got in to Nier Automata. Bought it and tried it a few months ago, and I only did the intro sequence. Wish I had played more, because I restarted the game today and after completing the desert sequence it truly clicked how awesome this game is.
  17. over a year late but shit nier automata is good

  18. The Wisps in Sonic Colours were for the most part awesome powerups that added a lot of variety and strategy into the gameplay. It's only in subsequent games where they've been out of place and functionally questionable
  19. let's be honest, Sonic R's OST is incredible

    1. ThePrinceOfSaiyans

      Who disputes this?

    2. Biggs

literally everyone. You can pick any random Sonic R review from YouTube and I guarantee they'll roast the soundtrack

    3. Lord-Dreamerz

I love the Sonic R music. But it's true the music doesn't feel "Sonicy."

    4. PC the Hedgehog

      PC the Hedgehog

The Sonic fandom has criticized the Sonic R soundtrack for over 20 years, though I think the majority of fans have warmed up to it over the years.

Go back to, say, 2001, and defenders of Sonic R's soundtrack were hard to find.

    5. Mr Loopone

      Mr Loopone

I've always liked the soundtrack, both vocal and instrumental. Much of the time, the songs just hit an accord to me. Some of Richard Jacques best work along with Metropolis Street Racer, that kept a similar vibe and even had a vocal to blooming Green Grove from Sonic 3D. I don't recall people criticising the latter game...

Guess people don't like 90s Brit pop...

  20. why Lisa WHYYYYYYYYYY

  21. All exams done :raised_hands_tone1: can't wait to find out how many modules I've failed this term lol

    1. MightyRay

Good to hear you've completed your tests! Hopefully you'll pass more than you've failed. :)

    2. Kiah

Nice on finishing your exams! As for modules you failed hopefully it’s none ?

    3. Biggs

      Hopefully! thanks folks <3

  22. Think you're a fussy eater? I go to Subway and order toasted chicken tikka subs with absolutely no toppings, salad, cheese or sauces, without shame. Anyone on my level of blandness?

    1. Big Panda

      Big Panda

When I order a pub burger, it’s just the burger and the bun without tomatos, lettuce, etc.

    2. Biggs

Same. Bread and meat is a solid combination as it is, no need to tart it up lmao

    3. Big Panda

      Big Panda

I do still add ketchup though.

    4. Biggs

I love ketchup but even then I only tolerate Heinz.

    5. Marcello

I order the parmesan bread with lettuce, tomatoes, salt, pepper, and vinegar.

    6. JezMM

I'm not at all a fussy eater and as someone who used to work at Subway, your order always perplexed me as how it could possibly be enjoyable (isn't it like, super dry!?).  That said, as you can imagine from me saying as such, it was something that people would occasionally order so you're not alone lol.

Anyway, despite not being a fussy eater, unsalted/unseasoned crisps (as in potato chips for any america peeps) are super delicious to me.  I'll buy Salt n' Shake crisps and just throw out the salt sachet.

    7. -Robin-

BLT, Double Bacon, white bread, Toasted, Extra Mustard, light spinach, oregano spice. Every time.

    8. JezMM

Incidentally I usually order all salad on my subways coz like... it doesn't cost any extra, get your money's worth and fill up on the parts that are actually good for you lol

P.S. If you do order all salad while both customers and staff alike are encouraged to put lettuce on first it actually makes it easier to close the sandwich if you put lettuce on last coz it kinda holds all the slippy bits (cucumbers, tomatoes etc) in place.

  23. Surprised at the lack of love for Sonic CD's OST. I'd also bring Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Mania. CD and Unleashed have both energetic and relaxing tracks that make them varied - the past, good future and night tracks are so beautiful. Mania has most of my favourite classic tunes remixed as well as banging new ones.
