      yep, snap it up lads!

    3. Strickerx5

I remember them doing it during the holidays. It was in its final hours when I was thinking about it and literally snatched that shit up on my phone instantly (I was out in the middle of palm desert at the time) XD. Good stuff.

  2. Sonic Mania sold a million copies? Does anyone think that's... Slightly disappointing? Compared to Gens, Colours and Unleashed anyways

    1. Tefutakato

I mean it can be disappointing in a business context but Sega is a rather rich company that has other games they make money off of.

      Legosi (Tani Coyote)

I wouldn't be surprised if proportionally it has a higher profit margin considering the likely lower production value, though.

    3. Dejimon11

Not really. After the last few installments bombed and how this game had a cheaper budget and now SEGA is milking the hell out of Mania I'd say it was a success.

    4. Biggs

Not sure about higher profit margin due to the lower budget given it was also only 20 bucks. Then again lots of assets were reused so maybe.

Maybe lower sales can also be attributed to the fact the game was only digital? And maybe the sales figures for unleashed etc. came out after a full year or so on the market. It did say "over" a million as I reread... So it might break 2 million in a few months. Scratch that, it probably will given mania plus

It's a basic machine learning algorithm, YT will offer you suggestions based on what you watch.

However, if you start to watch more of X, then it will offer you less suggestions for Y until it no longer offers you those.

But subscriptions will always notify you regardless of watch history.

      Real life example.

I started to watch a bunch of Oliver's Movie retrospectives and got a load of suggestions for them... but then I started to watch 'What Culture' and suddenly... no more Oliver.

But... I still always get a notice for Ashens whenever he uploads something.

Same thing happened to me with Cryptozoology news and newsupercris on YouTube, it was suggested or recommended notifications. I just disabled those notifications.

  6. God the RE1 remake is soooooooooo goooooooood. What a beautifully crafted game. As a modern RE fan who honestly never properly understood the appeal of the classics even after playing them... this game is pure art.

      Crow the BOOLET

      Its very good yes

...I just get motion sick from it kind of easily =3=

Motion sick? from the camera angle shifts right? That's interesting

  7. Currently playing the Resident Evil Remake. I don't have much experience with classic RE - I've only invested literally a handful of hours into the PS1 versions RE1 and 2 on our old PS3 and I never got round to beating them. To be honest I didn't find them that fun or scary, though decent - my first RE game was RE4 on the Wii and my next games were RE5, RE6 and RE Revelations after that so I guess they were a bit too different for me. Capcom have a Humble Bundle sale on so I picked up the HD remaster of REmake for Steam as I've been meaning to play it for a while now. So far I really, really like it. I initially played about an hour or two on the "hiking" difficulty, multiple times with some googling on in-game items here and there, which is something I tend to do for a lot of games when I first play them just to experiment, get a good "feel" for it and know what I'm doing. I was unaware of the difficulty settings for the game at first thinking the "hiking" mode was equivalent to normal but it's actually easy mode (which I sussed out after a while given I was loaded with ammo and herbs), so I bumped it up to the higher difficulty. I gotta say it's a beautifully designed game, and a really dynamic one at that, what with certain pathways changing and becoming infested with new creatures, almost like the designers *knew* you were gonna go back with fresh inventory space to pick up those herbs you missed out on the first time - or Wesker restocking the safe room. I particularly like the way zombies in certain rooms will burst out into the hallway if you didn't deal with them the first time. I must say, I'd heard a lot about how this was the scariest RE game and to be honest... I don't find it that bad at all. It's certainly a bit scary, but honestly not as much as 4 and *especially* 7. But that's not a bad thing in any way - in fact it's nice just to play a horror game that isn't ridiculously scary because that's just exhausting and it allows you to appreciate the actual game more, of which I'm really enjoying. No doubt it will pick up a bit later on but I doubt it will be quite as unsettling as 7. It's certainly (and obviously) less of a twitch shooter than 4 onward but it's not devoid of action; there's just more emphasis on being a bit strategical on planning out your routes and clearing rooms optimally before dashing back to put whatever you've acquired into the item box. I absolutely love the defense item mechanic as well which wasn't in the original game, gives you an extra incentive to explore your environment and save ammo. So overall, I'm loving it. If you're more of a modern RE fan like me this is the game to get you into classic RE (along with maybe 7 as well, there are clear design similarities between these games). More excited for the RE2 remake as well now.

I usually write my essays the night before they're due; that's just my style and it works well for me.

I'm similar. I used to do that until I was like 15, but ever since (uni especially) I do it overnight and *literally* till the last minute lol

  12. Sonic Unleashed has such a gorgeous OST, think it might be my favourite with CD and Mania

And sadly it was the last time that Fumie Kumatani contributed properly to a Sonic soundtrack. She did a few cutscene tracks for Colours, but she's since moved on from SEGA.

  14. I'd love to see a stage set in a really wacky, Sonic'd up airport with loop de loops and ramps and all that good old ridiculousness. First act would be set in the airport - gimmicks such as moving walkways and a cool looking shopping centre spring to mind, with security robots chasing you down. Maybe there could be a segment whereby you hop onto a luggage terminal and into an sprawling area ala the Toy Story 2 aiport baggage scenes. The second act could be set in the sky whereby you run atop and through and jump to different airplanes, sort of like Egg Fleet from Heroes. Nonsensical grind rails and bouncing/solid clouds in the sky around you. At one point one of the planes loses altitude and you have to do a few loop de loops around a jet engine to get the plane going again. This level could also obviously be good for story purposes, serving as a transitional level to your next destination. It would also be really cool if, depending on, say, a certain plane or route through the level you take, you end up in a completely different stage afterwards. That might be a bit much but I can dream.
  15. anyone here got banned from/remember the SEGA Forums?

I was banned like 6 times, first time as Psychic Hedgehog for being an edgelord making drug jokes, other times for alts. I actually genuinely liked it there, no lie. Sad as it sounds I do reminisce about the friends I made there every now and then. Cochrane was probably an alright guy really.

    1. Milo

I actually remember you as Psychic Hedgehog from the Sonic 4 days lmao

e: I have an account there and still do. I do have a few infractions though, mostly from my early years on the site; but no bans.

    2. Biggs

lmfao good lord. I was basically part of the bitching squad for Episode II lol. what was your username? I think I recognise you.

    3. Milo

@Biggs98 Yeow95, at least it used to be anyway. I changed it to Gabe495 when Sega Forums started to allow name changes.

No bans on my end, but I do have a few infractions from being a little too uppity towards people at times. Not my proudest moments as someone who hoped to have a completely clean slate when I joined, gotta admit, lol

    5. Biggs

oh hey I remember both of you! long time no see!

    6. Milo

@The Deleter I remember you from the site as well. You had a Professor Layton avatar, I think.

  16. Why is there only one volume of the NiGHTS into Dreams OST on Spotify? Sega wtf is wrong with you?!!!

  17. This one is basically Metallic Madness/Sonic 2 GG boss theme! Not the first one to observe this mind you

  18. been listening to this for a few years. This REEKS of Sonic CD (in a good way). Very likely 808 state had an influence on the OST.

  19. Initially didn't care much for Mania Plus, now I'm so hyped. Mania might just surpass S3K and CD for me.

  20. sonic-the-hedgehog-1086885.jpeg

anyone feel like Sonic needs a redesign? He's sported the same overall design since Unleashed but I swear his eyes have gotten more vacant and his overall look has become more goofy each subsequent game. I don't think loads needs to be done but I feel he should be a bit more angular, particularly in the shape of his eyes. I swear his hue of blue was made much weaker in Forces too, should be much more vivid like in Mania.

    1. Polkadi~☆

It could use a slight redesign to be a little more angular. And if it means Sonic Team will make a new model that's more expressive, all the better.

    2. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

The other thing about this design is that SEGA has never used it to his full potential, in terms of how it's animated. I'm not sure what difference would it make in that aspect, but I'd be down for an overhaul that would make him sharper or edgier.

    3. Biggs

Agreed, ever since Unleashed the standard of animation hasn't improved one bit. It's so stiff, the shape of Sonic's face hardly ever changes and his eyelids are almost never used to express anything.

    4. JosepHenry

I would love a more angular, sharper model for him. Funny enough, '06 Sonic has some good ideas for his model. His longer torso for example.

    5. Osmium

Make him look like this and you got yourself a deal

    6. Biggs

I really appreciate the way Sonic's eyes were handled in those CGI renders from Sonic 06. Not sure about a longer torso though, I feel if anything it needs to be more round.

Every time I look at that Lost World image above I just cringe so bad at the way Sonic's stomach... contorts. It's so horrible to look at.

    7. PaulyBFromDa303

      You want a redesign?

      You got it!

    8. Biggs

I actually kind of like the little in between spines on Boom Sonic

    9. Kiah

I’m fine with the way Modern Sonic looks. I just wished he had more variety in his facial expressions but it’s not a deal breaker for me.

If his green eyes go away with whatever changes made in the future with Sonic then I will riot.

    10. Diogenes

aside from my constant agonizing fear of how sonic team will fuck things up next i would be totally up for a redesign. i like sonic's modern design well enough, but we've stuck with it for quite a while, and I do think there's room to do better. tbh i still don't think they've solved how to make sonic look good from behind (among other angles), which is kinda important for games where you're spending a significant amount of time looking at him from the back.

hell, new sonic, new era, why not. if i can't get a reboot, at least move past the modern era; give sonic a fresh new look and bring in some fresh new ideas.

    11. Strong Guy

      Strong Guy

Say what you will about Sonic's current model, but I really like how starting with Lost World they've started shortening his spines. Something that's always bothered me is just how needlessly long they were in Unleashed/Generations (and basically every game before then). And also how ridiculously small and weird his back spines look in comparison. It's really weird when you notice it.

They're a pretty good length in Forces but truthfully I'd make his head spines even shorter, make his torso slightly bigger to also make his 2 baby back spines closer to the size of the ones on his head. Also lengthen his tail. I really love the look Sonic's got going on in the ova for this reason.

Also, definitely sharpen his eyes and make his brow more expressive and asymmetrical like in CD. It's unbelievable how such a small thing can add so much attitude and life to the character. Also I really with they'd make the soles of his shoes red again. I actually like the white/gray midsole. I think it looks cool. But for the bottoms, make em red please. This is really dumb reasoning but whenever Sonic is given a wheel o feet or the peel out with his modern design it bothers me that the trail is completely red even though since because the bottoms of his shoes are gray they shouldn't be so red like that. If you're running forward in a 3D game Sonic loses that beautiful blue/red look since all you get is the gray of the bottoms of his shoes.

  21. This is more impressive than speedruns tbh

    1. Strong Guy

Score attacks are so underrated :clap_tone1:

  22. I honestly don't think Shadow the Hedgehog is that bad, it's on par with Heroes for me tbh

    1. Harkofthewaa

Same, although it probably helps that I was given a guide along with the game. Knowing how many enemies you need to have killed by each checkpoint really makes all the difference.

    2. TheOcelot

I rate ShTH better than Heroes because it has slightly better gameplay, more interesting challenges & stage design, but that's not saying much.

    3. PaulyBFromDa303

Some of the levels are awesome. Mad Matrix was my favorite

    4. The Tenth Doctor

      The Tenth Doctor

The rail swapping mechanic really improved the formula.

  23. btw imagine Madeon and Netsky and some 90s early DnB artists working on the next Sonic OST <3 What would your dream team be?
