  1. Sony's officially confirmed that Spidey's left the MCU, and they're making a cinematic universe of Marvel Characters.

    That's that dead I guess

    1. Milo

      Milo

two-three years from now when sony produces a spider-man movie by themselves to mediocre / hot mess results yet again

"well at least it didn't have marvel steaks in it"

    2. SenEDDtor Missile

      SenEDDtor Missile

What an anticlimactic way to go for Spidey.

    3. Emperor Robrainiac

      Emperor Robrainiac

      Well crap.

Damn, I'm gonna feel really bad for my dad. He's a Spider-Man fan and liked the new movies. He's not gonna be happy when he hears about this.

  2. I love the concept of the case, but Recipe for Turnabout is the one case in the whole series that makes me genuinely wonder if half the Ace Attorney cast are braindead half the time.

  3. Honestly, for the retro theme, I really would've preferred Mario 3 or Mario World for the sake of consistency with Sonic's 16-bit sprites. Although granted, I've never been a fan of the original SMB sprites so that could be it.
  4. Man, apparently Loot Crate filed for bankruptcy a few days ago.

  5. Part of me wants Danny Phantom to get a comeback movie more than anything else after the Rocko, Arnold, and especially the Zim revivals.

The other part of me knows it wouldn't be anywhere near as good because Butch Hartman didn't write the two seasons that everyone loved, wrote the most divisive season, along with the often disliked season finale, and also in general - I don't want to see him getting any support after the Oasis scandal, and his gigantic ego.

  6. God, it keeps getting worse. So apparently Sony doesn't want to reboot it, they want to keep riding on the coattails of the MCU by doing two more movies with Jon Watt and Tom Holland...

...but remove any and all MCU references.

      Balding Spider

Oh, they're trying to fool the casual MCU audiences. That's a bold strategy cotton, lets see if it pays off for 'em

    3. Milo

      Milo

this is the same studio that wanted to do a spider-man CU without spider-man

and forced a venom movie that doesn't have spider-man as his origin

      so....

    4. Strickerx5

      Strickerx5

That’s actually worse than what I thought they’d do...

So let's make a small list that would now be off the table.

      • Tony Stark and his death
      • The other Avengers
      • Thanos
      • The Snap in of itself
      • Happy
      • Peter's death from being snapped
      • Technically Scorpion, Tinkerer Shocker, Vulture and Mysterio's backstories since both were villains created by Stark's actions
      • Practically nearly 90% of Homecoming's story

      Am I missing anything?

    6. tailsBOOM!

      tailsBOOM!

      Probably the Iron Spider suit

    7. Tails spin

      Tails spin

Any suit for that matter. The homecoming suit was made by Stark and his FFH suit was made with Stark tech

  7. That's sort of my point. I don't trust Sony to handle this well. Spider-Verse was bold, unique, and a love letter to Spidey fans. It comes out, not only redeems a animation studio known for garbage tier movies at worst, and mediocre to average films at best, becomes thrown around as the best Spidey film to date (rightfully so), and garners tons of academy and critical praise. That's just prime chance for Sony to run it into the ground, which is highly possible, given IIRC - there's currently already a sequel, and multiple spin-offs planned for it, as well as a cinematic universe being built around Venom, which is also implied to be apart of the Spider-Verse canon.
  8. MCU Fans: "Fantastic Four and X-Men are finally back in Marvel's hands! We're finally getting a MCU with every Marvel character allowed in!"

tbh this is sorta Marvel's fault for selling so many of their character's movie rights way back then. I mean, I know money was tight for them pre-MCU/ Disney buyout, but

    2. Ryannumber1gamer

      Ryannumber1gamer

It's not really their fault though? Not the current heads at least. Back then, Marvel was a fucking mess, and it was well-documented. The comics were basically being run by the marketing/promotional team, as opposed to the actual story-tellers and creators, which lead to a ton of Marvel's biggest missteps in those days, including the disastrous Heroes Reborn reboot, and prolonging infamous arcs like The Clone Saga in Spidey.

If I remember correctly, Marvel was close to being bankrupt, so they ended up selling the film/TV rights to their characters. Which given in those days, Marvel was likely run by different people altogether, it's unlikely they ever predicted a time where Marvel would have the resources to fund their own movie production studio.

Namor is also owned by Universal Studios sadly

  9. Oh joy, I can't wait for the next reboot that's probably gonna be a desperate and sad attempt at a cinematic universe that focuses on setting up more movies instead of actually making something good. All I can hope for at this point is the Spiderverse stuff comes through, but honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if Sony intend to market that out now that it's a proven success and gotten such acclaim. Venom came out last year and was still pretty shit, with it only really being enjoyable in a "So Bad it's Good" way, so I have high doubts we'll see anything halfway decent from yet another new live-action Spider-Man reboot.
  10. Spiderverse 2 opens with Miles doing the dance from Spider-Man 3.

And ending with a default dance and dab.

    2. The Tenth Doctor

      The Tenth Doctor

We need Miles to meet Night Monkey.

  11. Am I the only one who finds it stupid as hell that Death Stranding comes out in 3 months, is basically finished in one month, and yet today is literally the first showing of gameplay?

    1. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

I'm not even following the game at all and can tell you that this is an incredibly common sentiment.

    2. TCB

...This game is out in THREE months?

    3. Celestia

      Celestia

...They showed some gameplay last year though?

It's weird that it comes out so soon and we haven't seen much tho', but eh.

    4. Ryannumber1gamer

      Ryannumber1gamer

Did they? Because they hyped it tonight as the gameplay reveal.

    6. The Tenth Doctor

      The Tenth Doctor

I find the game way too up its own arse. I was hyped, loved Metal Gear. The advertising has been way too enigmatic to keep me interested though. They are banking on Kojima's name alone and I can't back a game just because one guy is working on it. Also, my opinion has fallen on him recently with how he gave Stefanie Joosten the David Hayter treatment.

    7. Wraith

      Wraith

      They showed gameplay in June

It's fine if they want to surprise you when the game comes out

  12. "Red Dead 2 is one of the most realistic and immersive experiences of all time!"

Kojima: "You can piss in my game"

  13. Activision just announced that Modern Warfare will allow cross-play between PS4 and PC. That's super cool and all, but I'm curious how they'll handle the fact that PC players have a ridiculous advantage due to Keyboard/Mouse.

Gamescom's opening night is beginning in five minutes! There's meant to be around 8 or so reveals, so come watch them live with other SSMB members!
