  1. Tbh, you wouldn't expect the man who wrote Secret Empire to be the best thing that's happened in the Spidey comic in years.

      Well, you would if you read his Ant-man run, because he is channeling some Parker luck tier events in that book.

      What happened recently? I knew Nick SPencer's run has been surprisingly pretty fun, but what's new? Has One More Day finally been addressed? Or something else cool happen recently?

      @Jovahexeon Ogilvie Maurice Nah, he's just writing a really good run so far, and his Hunted event is pretty good.

      Right now, my favourite is not only has Black Cat been fixed, and is friends with Spidey again - a tie-in issue shitted on Slott's run and destruction of her character.

      He explained that Black Cat's villainous turn was because when Peter asked Dr. Strange to erase his identity from everyone, it also erased his identity from Black Cat, but also erased tons of her memories of their time together, causing her to spiral and feel empty, like a shell.

      Peter's revealing of his identity again is what brought her memories back, all of them are now flooding back to her at random points, and she feels awful about becoming the queen of crime. She's currently trying to protect Billy Connors during the new Hunted storyline, taking gunshots and attacks from hunters to do so.

      @Ryannumber1gamer If pay close attention to the first arc of Spencer's Spider-man run, it's totally there with the split. When especially when Spidey's going all overkill, and nuts. It's totally a call out to Slott's Spider-man run.

      @Balding Spider

      Definitely. It feels like the run as a whole is calling out and fixing every mistake Slott has done. Peter's called out and loses everything for faking his education through Doc Ock's mindswap, and calls himself totally irresponsibility for doing so, he's back together with MJ after only just a few issues, resulting in them living together, much like before OMD, barring their marriage.

      Black Cat is back to her original character, and has an explanation for Slott's bullshit, explained with even more of Slott's bs being the root cause of it. Lizard is back and he's trying to repent for his crimes, the villains for the past while have all been different (Considering how overused Goblin or original villains was becoming), Spidey when explicitly split from Peter and his responsibility is basically Slott Spidey and more. It's brilliant.

      It's telling how Slott had just lost respect for Spidey at some point, to the point I'd argue it's a miracle Spidey PS4 had as good a story as it did, considering that Slott spent considerable time doing nothing but spouting off about how Peter was Spidey's greatest villain because he was an irresponsible ass who kept flaking and holding Spidey back - and at the same time, he did nothing but glorify Doc Ock.

      Oh yeah, I found it interesting what Spencer did with JJ on that regard too.

      Even the thing with JJ seems like a shot towards Slott. Doc-Ock ended up in a position where he got JJ as a confidant, and did nothing interesting with it - JJ was still a giant dick, and Doc-Ock destroyed Spidey's rep with him even more by blackmailing him.

      Spencer's actually made it so JJ knows who Peter is, trusts him, and is forced to repent for his previous actions, while still being a loveable jackass.
