  1. Apparently there's a 170 minute cut of Batman Forever that's a lot darker and serious according to the Lost Media wiki.

Fuck the Snyder cut, give me this

You mean where Man Bat except not showed up to represents Bruce's darker self he ends up embracing to fully don his Batman persona?

That and much more. It would've covered the journal subplot, Bruce being forced to confront his role in his parents' deaths (insisting on going to the cinema), his role as Batman, and much more. Forever has been known for the longest time to have been more of a character study of Batman as a character, and Burton's creative decisions for him.

After we got the final cut, all of that was left out, and only a very small number of scraps remained, like Batman trying to convince Robin about how revenge/death is wrong, and Batman's """"dilemma"""" about if Batman or Bruce is more important.

It annoys me that WB has confirmed they have the 170 cut, and have even confirmed that yes - it is considerably more darker than the one we've got, but they have no interest in releasing it.

The only other remaining scrap of just how dark the movie would've been is the cut intro, which was more atmospheric, and focused on Harvey's escape from Arkham:

Probably the worst thing about that cut is that with Joel Schumacher (director) now dead, I won't be surprised if any chance of the cut getting re-released dropped to zero now.

Ironically, it was his death that revealed the cut's existence - after Joel's death, one of his friends came out and confirmed the existence of the cut. When the story broke, it caused news sites to get more confirmation and evidence, and all of this kept building until WB themselves confirmed they had the 170 minute cut, but had no plans to release it.
