  5. Feh, who cares about yet another dumb Pac Man collection with the exact same games as alwa- >pac man world and pac man world 2 ...real shit?
  6. Thanks to a promotional offer, I ended up getting CTR on Switch along with the Medievil remake, so that’s neat.

      Nina Cortex Jovahexeon

Excellent. Now we can properly fuel the nitro fuel duel on the CTR tracks.

  7. Having the newest Layton game on Switch is neat and all but I’d really like it if we could get the original games on Switch.

  8. Quick freebie thing: You can play Persona 5 for free if you haven't already.

It got added to PS Now as part of this month's library and is available til Feburary. PS Now is normally £8 a month, but you can get a month free trial, and cancel auto-renewal, which should be more than enough time to finish up Persona 5. PS Now is also on PC IIRC, so that's an option too.

If you're on PS4, you can also download the game during the duration of the free trial so you don't have to deal with streaming either.

  9. Shit, a new development out of nowhere in the Blizzard controversy, Jeff Kaplan (Blizzard VP and head of the OW team) wants Blitzchung's suspension reduced even further if not removed outright.

    1. Strickerx5

I mean, I feel like that goes without saying with everyone at Blizzard who isn't some heartless, capital dick.

But nah man ya know, gotta keep up the illusion that all of Blizz hates human rights or something.

It's why I wince so hard when people wanted to act out at Blizzcon. Like, the people who made that decision aren't even there. Someone that high up, without a public image, ain't working a public event on the weekend.

To clarify, I'm not against the protest at all. I feel they're needed to get the message across on some level. But people were ready to throw shit at the actual OW team which is where I draw one gd thick line.

  10. I'm still not a huge fan of the Link's Awakening remake style for Zelda, but I think that style would look really cool for a remake of a Kirby game.

    1. Wraith

It's a fine fit for Zelda

  11. How has no one mentioned Liz's circus outfit is literally just Sombra from Overwatch?
  12. Maybe the real Sonic movie was the memes we made along the way

    1. Ferno

      *credits roll*

  13. New screenshots released from Scoob (the CG Scooby movie coming next year), and it looks like it's gonna have a Pup Named Scooby Doo scene, which is neat as hell.

Everyone except Fred looks pretty good

    4. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

Yeah, I initially felt a tad iffy on how the humans looked, but I feel they'll grow on me quickly. Less so with Fred, he looks like something from any other generic low-budget 3D adaptation of an old 2d show. I'll regardless be looking forward to seeing all this in motion.

It's a shame they still had to go and blow it with that live action Tom & Jerry releasing after this.

    5. Boomer

The way they screwed over the voice actors, especially Matthew Lillard, has put me off this entirely. Fuck it.

    6. Menace2Society

^ This. I refuse to anything Scooby-Doo related without Frank Welker as Fred.

(Yes, I know he's still Scooby, but still)

    7. Panda Claus

      Panda Claus

@Menace2Society so you’re going to stop keeping up with the franchise as soon as he’s not around anymore?

  14. It'll likely be releasing Christmas Eve/Christmas Week I'd imagine. DC pulls the same stunt so they can have their heavy hitters releasing on Christmas Week, and then that ups their profits for a certain month. Off the top of my head, Batman Last Knight on Earth's final issue received a massive delay til this Christmas release date for the same reason.
  15. I'm nearly sure we've known about Rilla and Chuck/Stew for months. In fact, I'm fairly sure they were among the first datamined characters. Yaya's new though. Not that it matters much to me, I've officially hit total burnout with CTR. Didn't even bother much with the Halloween prix despite really wanting Witch Tawna and Dark Coco. I just went far enough to get Moe, Nina, and Brio. It was one thing doing these prixes over the Summer with free time, but with limited free time, and how much of a tedious grind it is, I'd rather be using said time playing something fun instead of bored out of my mind.

  17. I’m getting Mario and Sonic at the 2020 Tokyo Games for Christmas, it’s gonna be the first time I’ve got a game in this series since 2012 London games, nearly 10 years apart.

    1. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

I got the original on Wii the Christmas that it came out, and it remains the only game in the M&S series that I've played. It just doesn't offer anything to be excited about, IMO.

    2. Ryannumber1Santa

Personally, I’d say if you can get it, get the original 2009/2010 Winter Games. The first game is rather basic, but the original Winter Games was great IMO, had the best share of events, a fun campaign mode, and a really good in game marketplace where you can get tons of the best music in the series. I used to love trying to get everything

    3. Tangled Jack

      Tangled Jack

I think up until London they were all basic minigames, they added depth later, but still Rio didn't offer much, just 14 events which is really lame. The original… it's probably the most boring out of the bunch, for real. Tokyo seems to be the best, I'll be getting it today, let's see if it holds to the expectations...

    4. Tangled Jack

      Tangled Jack

      Double post, sorry.

    5. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

Yeah, I'm well aware of what the future entries have improved upon. But the overall package is just so... Blah. Can't say I'm gripped.

  18. The Simpsons has had a lot of bad moments over the years, but nothing in this show makes me cringe as much as this:

    1. DanJ86

Oof! Don't even need to play the video. It's perfectly summed up in that very thumbnail.

  19. Going to see the Marvel live show over the weekend as a Birthday present, so it should be fun

what if it's the true sequel to endgame

    1. The Tenth Doctor

      The Tenth Doctor

I saw it the other week in Glasgow, was a lot of fun! Great effects too,

      The Tenth Doctor

I don't think Modern Homer is capable of such a deep moment like this any more. What a wonderful track.

  21. M-Marrrrrrio...!

  22. Teaser for Soul is here, looks pretty good, and pretty different from Pixar's other movies

    1. Milo

i pretty much like everything (especially the animation, the environments look phenomenal) except for the last scene; it jarringly contrasts with the rest of the teaser in regards to tone. i saw a comment on a cartoon brew article that said it's there to remind viewers "this is still a kid's movie" and that sums it up perfectly.

  23. It amazes me that it keeps getting brought up again and again, time and time again that people are sick of detractors not giving the film a chance, or commenting on how they’re never happy, or more my specific point - why they feel the need to constantly comment on what they feel are the film’s shortcomings... ...and then said “repeating” of points being completely justified by posts like this. If you’d read these arguments from detractors of the film, you might begin to realise how utterly ridiculous this is and how incredibly wrong it also is. If you’d bother to even read and understand the viewpoints of people who have an issue with the film and the problems displayed in the trailer, you might understand that the issues far exceed the visual design of the movie, and they’d still be pointed out if it was fully animated or not. The Lorax was also incredibly faithful with its visual design and to Dr. Suess’s books, that didn’t stop the movie being a complete load of corporate bullshit that ruins the original story and shockingly managed to miss the entire point of the movie and it’s lesson, to the point where marketing material literally contradicted the original lessons about environmental damage and corporate greed by having the Lorax himself trying to sell cars and other such things. Words don’t even begin to describe the flaws with this strawman argument and I’m getting really sick of it being trotted out to try shut down people who have a problem with the film. The visuals are one element of the film and changing the visuals will not fix the metric butt ton of problems with it.
  24. Finishing off the last assignment on the first set of them that I've been working on non-stop for the past two weeks be like

  25. What're the thoughts on Netflix's Green Eggs and Ham show?

    1. Sean

I'm not into it. I dislike all of the modern reinventions of Dr. Seuss stories. My standards of a good Seuss adaptation is the 1966 Grinch special and I just can't accept anything else.

    2. Bloxxerboy

Took it with a grain of salt and hated it.

      Maybe it needs more salt.

    3. Jingilator

Not a bad idea, expanding one the old one--but I would've preferred a short film, simple as a bun.
