Thanks to a promotional offer, I ended up getting CTR on Switch along with the Medievil remake, so that’s neat.
-
Excellent. Now we can properly fuel the nitro fuel duel on the CTR tracks.

Having the newest Layton game on Switch is neat and all but I’d really like it if we could get the original games on Switch.

Quick freebie thing: You can play Persona 5 for free if you haven't already.
It got added to PS Now as part of this month's library and is available til Feburary. PS Now is normally £8 a month, but you can get a month free trial, and cancel auto-renewal, which should be more than enough time to finish up Persona 5. PS Now is also on PC IIRC, so that's an option too.
If you're on PS4, you can also download the game during the duration of the free trial so you don't have to deal with streaming either.

Shit, a new development out of nowhere in the Blizzard controversy, Jeff Kaplan (Blizzard VP and head of the OW team) wants Blitzchung's suspension reduced even further if not removed outright.
-
I mean, I feel like that goes without saying with everyone at Blizzard who isn't some heartless, capital dick.
But nah man ya know, gotta keep up the illusion that all of Blizz hates human rights or something.
It's why I wince so hard when people wanted to act out at Blizzcon. Like, the people who made that decision aren't even there. Someone that high up, without a public image, ain't working a public event on the weekend.
To clarify, I'm not against the protest at all. I feel they're needed to get the message across on some level. But people were ready to throw shit at the actual OW team which is where I draw one gd thick line.

I'm still not a huge fan of the Link's Awakening remake style for Zelda, but I think that style would look really cool for a remake of a Kirby game.

Maybe the real Sonic movie was the memes we made along the way

New screenshots released from Scoob (the CG Scooby movie coming next year), and it looks like it's gonna have a Pup Named Scooby Doo scene, which is neat as hell.

Yeah, I initially felt a tad iffy on how the humans looked, but I feel they'll grow on me quickly. Less so with Fred, he looks like something from any other generic low-budget 3D adaptation of an old 2d show. I'll regardless be looking forward to seeing all this in motion.
It's a shame they still had to go and blow it with that live action Tom & Jerry releasing after this.

@Menace2Society so you’re going to stop keeping up with the franchise as soon as he’s not around anymore?

I’m getting Mario and Sonic at the 2020 Tokyo Games for Christmas, it’s gonna be the first time I’ve got a game in this series since 2012 London games, nearly 10 years apart.
-
-
Personally, I’d say if you can get it, get the original 2009/2010 Winter Games. The first game is rather basic, but the original Winter Games was great IMO, had the best share of events, a fun campaign mode, and a really good in game marketplace where you can get tons of the best music in the series. I used to love trying to get everything

I think up until London they were all basic minigames, they added depth later, but still Rio didn't offer much, just 14 events which is really lame. The original… it's probably the most boring out of the bunch, for real. Tokyo seems to be the best, I'll be getting it today, let's see if it holds to the expectations...

The Simpsons has had a lot of bad moments over the years, but nothing in this show makes me cringe as much as this:

Oof! Don't even need to play the video. It's perfectly summed up in that very thumbnail.

Teaser for Soul is here, looks pretty good, and pretty different from Pixar's other movies
-
i pretty much like everything (especially the animation, the environments look phenomenal) except for the last scene; it jarringly contrasts with the rest of the teaser in regards to tone. i saw a comment on a cartoon brew article that said it's there to remind viewers "this is still a kid's movie" and that sums it up perfectly.

What're the thoughts on Netflix's Green Eggs and Ham show?
-
I'm not into it. I dislike all of the modern reinventions of Dr. Seuss stories. My standards of a good Seuss adaptation is the 1966 Grinch special and I just can't accept anything else.

Not a bad idea, expanding one the old one--but I would've preferred a short film, simple as a bun.
