  1. Mario Strikers is remembered by 4 whole people but man did it have some awesome artwork, particularly gritty for Mario standards;

I loved Strikers on Wii, I want a new game in the series.

I’ve seen all of the manga, I’m mainly in it because I didn’t like how the manga handled it being so drawn out, plus looking samey.

Thankfully, the anime is handling it a lot better.

  5. Holy crap, Bandai Namco really screwed DBZ Kakarot. The game is unpolished as heck sometimes, there's even major oversights, like whole scenes without voice acting and sound effects lol Really slim budget I assume. They probably think the brand alone is enough to sell...

I'm not going to go into combat, I'd need to play it myself to make that decision. That said, I'd like to also point out that it's an RPG, meaning spongey enemies are very likely a result of rushing through the game, and not stopping to try level up. Which is probably fair, because whoever got the game early is likely trying to rush through ASAP to get as much content up on the internet as they can, and rake in views before Bandai goes after them.

But I don't see where you're going at all with the graphics. I think they look very nice, and leagues above Xenoverse 2, which had fairly decent graphics for a next-gen game.

  6. Now I wonder about if Sonic Riders had replaced the CGI cutscenes with animated ones instead. It would certainly fit the aesthetics more, especially with the ingame cutscenes already having an anime feel to them.

Oh, you mean the proper CG ones, I thought you meant the in-engine CG cutscenes.

It would've made them a lot better instead of the dated PS2 models.

  8. I bought Mega Man X Legacy Collection PS4 since Best Buy had one copy left and I figured why not since I have the classic Legacies and kinda want to get the Zero/ZX one next month.

To anyone who has it: How bad is the input lag in this collection

Nope, just PC. There's some kind of issues with the options that causes it.

In fairness, Dragon Ball and Naruto are about the only two series they treat with respect, probably because they know they'll get their money back from them. Both Xenoverse/Xenoverse 2, and especially FighterZ are incredibly high quality games with fair amounts of backing behind them.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, and those games are in the same boat. They have fairly high production budgets, and they get both the JP and English dubs for them because Naruto and DB seem to be confirmed hits due to their long-running nature. CyberConnect, the developers of the highly successful Ninja Storm series are the dev team behind Kakarot.

I have no idea why One Piece and MHA aren't included in that list because of how big they are, but meh.

Kakarot's been showing the exact same level of polish, if not even a bit more than FighterZ in some instances with it's cutscenes. I know that a good few of the cutscenes are models talking and enacting the scenes, instead of the super high-quality stuff, but considering the sheer amount of scenes, and content they were doing in this game, it's honestly a bit ridiculous to me to expect the massive anime quality cutscenes for every single cutscene, no matter how small they are.

Taking into account what Jango said yesterday were the main problem points:

      Quote

When I thought we got over the "character models stand motionless while text boxes do the service" era... There's some great cutscenes that are exact recreations of the manga and anime (some are indeed frighteningly close to the source material), and these are awesome. But they're just a few. Also, combat looks repetitive as heck and the worlds doesn't look that cool to explore. I think people will be getting this game for the fan service, but as a game, it looks weak to me.

Hell, FighterZ did the same thing, with mostly static models talking in their story cutscenes, with only a few "high quality anime-like" scenes, but they were masked by superb writing, and the graphics of the game itself looking so utterly fantastic. So even the "models/dialogue boxes" stuff doesn't mean shit to me, because from what I've seen, they're still fairly decent, and all voice acted, unlike something like Xenoverse. Fair enough, maybe the gameplay is a bit repetitive, but I don't really think that's something you can judge until you've either got the game in-hand for yourself, or see what the general opinion on the matter is via reviews.

That's why I really have my doubts on this. It makes little to no sense for Bandai to screw Cyber Connect on budget now after how successful XV and FighterZ both were. Kakarot is practically confirmed to be a success, so making it lazily would be absolutely idiotic of them, and hurt the brand after a long string of high quality tie-in games.

Idk, I'd wait til it releases and we hear more stuff. I've seen a fair amount of footage from Kakarot, and I know others who've watched a hell of a lot more than me, and they haven't mentioned anything like this to me at all.

Idk, I've been keeping fairly away from footage since I've got it pre-downloaded for unlock tomorrow, but from the footage I've seen, which is some of Frieza, and some of Android, it looks good enough. @Spin Attaxx has been watching a lot more than me, and he hasn't noticed anything like the issues mentioned here.

I very heavily doubt this trailer is anything representing of what the park actually looks like. The Mario focus is really weird, but I’d be more concerned over the issue that the trailer just shows a CG game world instead of like, the actual park.

  17. Mega Man 9 is a very not fun time

    1. Ryannumber1gamer

      Ryannumber1gamer

The problem for me is I like a lot about the game. The RM line, weapons, music and stage themes are my favourite in the entire series I think, tied with MM1 and 2's lineups for me. But the flanderisation of difficulty kills the game for me. It feels frustrating to play more than it feels fun to me.

    "What's up doc?"

Sony, make up your damn minds already.

    1. Ryannumber1gamer

      Ryannumber1gamer

It’s nothing to do with making up their minds, Sony tries to imply their films is in the MCU. They did the same thing with Venom.

However, where that was just promotional stuff there, they took it to next idiotic step by including Vulture. I’d imagine it’s also a aftermath result of the latest Sony/Disney deal where it was said they wanted to try tie Sony’s spiderverse to the MCU.

The only real hope we have is them doing it for Spiderverse too.

  19. Haven’t played much MM8, but I’ve listened to most of the soundtrack and I wasn’t impressed

  24. I'll give Mega Man 8 this much, I really do love the game's weapon selection.

    1. Ryannumber1gamer

      Ryannumber1gamer

I'm the same, the finales tend to go on too long for their own good. I think they would at least be marginally improved if they got rid of the robot master rematches, and changed it so you just directly go in and fight Wily. I find it alright for stuff like MM3, where the castle stages are fairly simple, and easy enough, but I really hate when they go all in. Especially MM1 given the difficulty of the bosses, as well as being fucked if you use up your weapon resources before specific points.
