Only went there since you asked since I don't frequent the place.

You seem like someone who is desperate for attention and tries their hardest to rile people up. Honestly at this point I don't think you even believe in Pendejo's work, you just do it because you know people don't like him.

You're kind of pathetic and try hard. I'd say I'm sorry for whatever is going on in your life that makes you so desperate, but it'd just come off as patronizing if I do, even if that's not how I mean it.

Yeah I was going to mention. He was dead certain it was the future of Sonic. He seems to have forgotten he's said that.

    Edit-
    "high intellect"
I"M GONNA TOSS MY GUARDIANSHIP FOR A DAAAAAAAAARE

    Edit 2:
    She's so ugly
    Like just

    Horribly artistically unappealing

    Edit 3:
I'm sorry this is just like stream of conciousness reacting just goddamn why. This is why I keep watching his shit and paying attention to what he does because it's like someone pulling a fucking harlequin fetus out of a hat and going "TADAH"

    Edit 4:
Also a friend pointed this out but I called it with him blaming the inconsistencies with things on time ripples/anomolies

The funniest thing about it is
    1. No one is forcing anyone to fund those projects
    2. Most patreons have rewards for supporters

And yet somehow it's 'hipster welfare' instead of a subscription service.

Hey, everyone.  So, I came here to marvel over Ken's latest tweets, only to realize I never actually got an account here before.  I could've sworn I had one that I just hadn't logged into in a while, but I guess not.  Oh well.  Anyway...
I'm amazed just how little Ken understands about the comic industry despite being part of it for twenty years.  (I don't even really care about the ego he showed there, since that's probably meant as a bad joke.)
Here's the place where I assume Ken got his numbers, since it uses Diamond's actual sales figures: http://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2015/2015-11.html  (The site's a pretty useful resource, showing off direct comic shop sales for various books.  It doesn't include subscription numbers, as far as I'm aware.)
Also, here's the sales for the two months before that: http://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2015/2015-09.html  http://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2015/2015-10.html
To make a really long story short: In September, #276 was at 222 on the list, and sold 8,222 copies.  In October, #277 was at 215, and sold 7,877.  In November, #278 was at 219, and sold 7,607.  Even though sales dropped, just like Ken made fun of, the last two months were above where they were in September on the chart.  (Also remember that this was right after the end of the crossover.  Numbers ALWAYS drop off after a crossover.)
But the thing that really astonishes me that Ken doesn't get is that other books sales matter.  Most of the time, the biggest selling books on the list hit just over 100,000 copies, while Sonic sells between 8,000 and 9,000.  The last few months, there've been a bunch of big event comics and Marvel relaunches which sold a ton more than normal.  Last month, the biggest seller sold 440,000 copies.  Man, looking at all that, it's almost like Sonic and all the other books around it on the chart had their sales fall because of some massively high-selling comics coming out more and more the past few months.

All of that's nothing, though.  Want to know the silliest thing Ken didn't account for?  Well, I went back in time nearly 10 years, to Ken's final issue of Sonic.
    http://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2006/2006-02.html
Hey look, Sonic #159 was at 184 on the list.  That's not bad.
But wait.  What's that in the sales numbers column?
    It sold 7,260 issues.
That's less than Sonic #278, the issue he was tweeting about.  And that month he didn't have any big-selling comics to contend with.  The highest seller back then only brought in 140,000 books.
Heck, looking back at the series' history, before Ian took over, the comics regularly sold around 7,000 or 8,000 issues.  The start to Ken's beloved M25YL (#131) sold 7,286.  Even freaking Sonic #50 only sold 8,738 copies, and that was supposedly from the book's golden years in terms of sales, according to Ken.  His complaint makes no sense.  He's spreading misinformation, and people replying to him are believing it.  And that's just sad.

Amen to that. I've looked over archived statements by him from years ago, specifically a preserved page from the time when he and Bollers were feuding. It's freakish that he sounds EXACTLY the same then as he does now.

*nod* Yeah, THAT is in fact a very legitimate thing to point out, I forgot to add. Flynn actually has a job, and up until very recently was working on four books, and is still working on the two. This was always meant to be for free, something done in his spare time, and from the start there was always a 'it will get done when I have time to get it done' vibe from the whole thing. Contrast Penders, who has no employment that we know of and has had nothing BUT time, disrupted only by the occassional personal reasons that he's bothered to reveal. He doesn't have nearly as good an excuse to justify it taking so long after the trial's end.
This just kind of reminds me about how his wiki entry on the Star Trek wiki points out that he had issues with quality and getting stuff done on time during the brief time he was working on Star Trek. Even if he really does want to see it through, I just don't think he has any real ability to get things done in a timely fashion. He jury rigged at least one of his displays for ComicCon from several different pre-existing pictures, days before it was time to start things.

I'm just going to add my two cents on this: I find it far more likely that anybody who has such claims and acts in such a manner is simply a troll who finds it very easy to get a rise out of angered people. People like this know it's a sensitive subject and will attack whenever possible. i doubt he's a fan, probably doesn't really care about Sonic or Penders. Just knows it's easy bait.
Really, it'd be better to entirely ignore him, don't engage him even on Twitter.

Yeah, as I've said before, FuhrerMustang is precisely the kind of fan that Penders deserves. That said, we really should not be discussing him, given that he's just a screaming fanboy with an unnatural grudge against Flynn, and this is a thread meant for Penders and the Lara-Su Chronicles.

He even pulled that with Sonic and Uncle Chuck by having the latter withhold the truth about the fates of the former's parents because the truth that they were alive would compel Sonic to do "foolhardy" stuff and would likely result in his capture by Robotnik, resulting in him getting major pissed at Chuck for a few issues.
Uh, I think Sonic's more intelligent than letting his heart rule his head Penders.
Then again, you had absolutely no idea of how to write Sonic as a character well anyway so no suprises there.

Amazing that for a guy who regards himself as a businessman, which is largely concerned with cold hard fact regarding sales and the like, he sure seems to take an overly emotive view of how things are done, casting himself as a hero and his superiors as villains for not going the extra mile to sustain something that wasn't operating within the perimeters they set up.

For some reason that offends me more than anything. Slamming people who do web-comics as it's too 'easy'.

Tracing is a learning tool for young artists and is defensible on that grounds as it allows them to become familiar with forms. This is a grown man who considers himself an industry professional but uses it as a crutch. That's not really acceptable. Especially not for work that's going to be sold.
Looking away from the face, the hands look like mittens.
This is extremely poor quality and this has basically destroyed any hope for there being any redeeming features to the art. By using 3D models I thought I could at least depend on there being consistency in shading and forms, but we don't even have that.
The only thing left with the possibility of holding my attention is story but... well.

I guess I'll repeat this again- as far as he can remove it from being a comic, the better it seems to be in his eyes. Which means making it something with animation and voice acting.
I'm kind of bothered by that, to be honest. Part of the thing about comics (if you call them a 'graphic novel' or not) is that by reading them you are directly engaged in a way that you aren't with a cartoon or movie. You, as the reader, are tasked with filling in the gaps, to interpret the words, the timing, etc. It's a relationship between reader and creator(s) that doesn't exist in other mediums. I'm not trying to be pretentious about it, it's just a different experience with different expectations from both the creator(s) and readers.
However considering how his comics have always had trouble with straining the reader with things like bad formatting of panels and word bubbles, as well as his persistent push to tell and not show, I guess it was only natural for him to do this, as at least this way we'll know what order the panels go and who actually speaks in what order.
I suppose it also has to do with his love being in cinematography and not comics.

Well yeah, except Undertale was inspired by Earthbound, it's not just ripping it off because Toby Fox didn't get to make Earthbound into a Star Trek fanfic. More importantly, he's not to my knowledge a total ass to people on twitter and actually works to finish the things he creates instead of reassuring people he's doing it talking about how great it is instead of just doing it.

    Redundancy

EDIT: I thought of another Undertale connection, being that half of this is loosely-related self-insert fanfiction that only exists to waste time. Of course the difference here is Alphys and Mettaton are likeable, and also still aren't giant assholes on twitter

There's also the feeling that the guys that did Undertale wanted to create something, while penders wanted something to be created... But doesn't seem to want to put effort or work for it, unlike anyone trying to push forward a project they want to see done.
Also, maybe i'm being a dick here; but... I really don't see why announce he's going to modify a page to make it better.
...I mean, maybe I don't understand it, but I always thought that's what you're supposed to do... Unless you're a total hack, of course.
It's like if i'm a translator and I say "Hey, i've been proofreading my translation because it had typos and some parts didn't make sense".
It's expected that you try your best most of the time.
Of course... Now that I think about it, maybe what it's supposed to be normal for most, is special for Penders, seeing that, as far as we know, there are only two pages. Maybe a third one would be big news then?
Besides that... Happy 200 page...again! This time I can celebrate too instead of lurking in silence with a party hat in the shadows.
For another 200 pages with 3/3 Phone Cases unsold!
