When Carter ran as an outsider, he at least came off as a good person. In fact, his Presidency kind of seems like a good person who just wasn't cut out for politics.
Trump? Fuck no. There's nothing that says "good" about him. I don't care how fresh he is. We're trading in corruption for bigotry.

Nintendo's early days in gaming were not practically inspired, a lot of them were your basic Pong and Break Out clones, one of the more interesting ones is Monkey Magic, where you ruin a monkey's day by messing up their face.
The interesting thing about this? There was next to no proof this actually made it to the market ... until now
Now, let's hope we find a way to play EVR Race again.

Good to see Clinton utterly destroyed him. I missed most of the debate, but there seems to be a pretty broad consensus that finally face to face, she exposed him for the clueless idiot he is. In true Republican fashion, Trump is great at saying "no" to a lot of things, but not very good at coming up with alternatives. For being called alt-right, he sure veers close to reactionary with that sort of perspective.
Even if Trump wasn't a liar or a bigot, he's clearly inexperienced and lacks the demeanor necessary for the leader of the world's sole superpower. This isn't some local organization. This is one of the most powerful offices in the entire world. The President controls millions of soldiers, thousands of nukes, and can easily change life in America with his control over millions of federal workers and his relations with Congress and world leaders.
It's not a position that someone this unqualified should fill. The fact it's even CONSIDERED is mind boggling.
But there is objectively going to be one option that is better than the others. Why not do your part to put that option in power?

Those are cut-scenes from finished products, not trailers.  The Generations reveal trailer where Sonic is running through the whited out Green Hill Zone distinctly showed him using a variety of moves from the boost games, and it turned out to be a boost game.  It makes a lot more sense to compare two reveal trailers of a similar nature than a reveal trailer to a flashy cinematic intro movie intended for entertainment in itself over announcement/information.

Modern Sonic is getting sidelined for Classic Sonic so much these days.
It must be making him quite green-eyed.

I have to agree, here.  While classic Sonic isn't a deal-breaker for me, I definitely think the trailer would have been stronger without him, and I definitely agree that modern Sonic got the short end of the stick here.   Otherwise, the trailer has me piqued because it looks like they're really putting some high stakes into this one, which is something we've not seen for awhile.

I'm probably one of the people who most loves the cute and lighthearted direction of the current series and even -I- didn't find the trailer that dark, honestly.  It draws paralells in artistic style to Sonic '06's opening cutscene, but all the classic Robotnik robos and everything really makes it hard for me to see it as a grimdark ultra serious story in the same vein.

So can people who are calling this "grimdark", even offhandily, explain why? I mean, it was fairly serious, sure, but it was hardly ShTH's opening levels of edge or whatever. It's nice to actually see some tension in this trailer, with the latter bit with Classic Sonic's entry being an indication this definitely isn't going to be all doom and gloom. I really hope the game actually has the tone this trailer has.
As for Classic Sonic, I'm mixed on him coming back, but eh. Not really a dealbreaker for me even though I understand people's concerns.

That's right, it got confirmed tonight! New Classic game by Christan Whitehead and heading to next gen consoles! Will update the topic as we get more details. Seems like it's gonna be a new game that's like a 2D Generations. Brand new stages, while taking older fan-favourite stages, and re-imagining for this brand new title.  Whitehead confirmed it's gonna be totally classic, with all new zones, and re-imagined zones from older games, with all new twists and such. For example, it'll have changes to Green Hill with cave systems and such. Release Date is Spring 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, meaning the Nintendo Exclusivity deal is officially over. A new mechanic has also been confirmed called the drop dash, which seems to allow you to spin dash while in mid air, allowing you to jump, and then duck directly into a spin dash, charge it midair, and speed off.
    Confirmed Re-Imagined Stages:
    -Green Hill
    Brand New Stages:
    -Studiopolis
    Confirmed Characters:
    -Sonic
    -Tails
    -Knuckles
    Confirmed Gameplay Mechanics:
    -Brand New Drop Dash
-Elemental Shields are Back (Bubble Shield at the end of the trailer)

How does a paid speechwriter in a presidential campaign go through life not knowing that plagiarism is wrong and more than a simple mistake?

If I were to simply receive outside help on some of my assignments at college- much less take work that's not my own- not only would I have failed the class but I would have been kicked out of school and subsequently out tens of thousands of dollars.
And this guy gets a pat on the back and coddling from the Trumps?

    Buuuullllshiiiiiiiit.

    Guess what's back, back again...
MOVIE NIGHTS ARE BACK, TELL A FRIEND!
You all have no idea how good it feels to say that after so long.
So yes, after quite a long hiatus, SSMB Movie Nights, a long time weekly staple here in the community, are finally back in business! A time where members can come together on an average Friday night, hang out, and watch a film of our choice all while having a great experience. Time for a simple Q&A to get you all up to speed as to how these will work, in case you haven't attended one. Besides that, I will have to introduce some new measures.
    ---------------
Q: When will these be occurring?
Every Friday at 7:00 PM EST/11:00 PM GMT. Around an hour or half an hour before that time, we'll most likely be watching random videos and such in prelude to our movie night. Sometimes, shorts will be played before certain films. *wink wink*
Q: Where do I go to attend Movie Night?
Here over at MOTOBUG! It's already been used for many SSMB streaming events in the past, and now I'm partnering up with @The Deleter to host this weekly event!
Q: How will the movies we watch each week be chosen?
Each week, there is a theme of movies that lead up to the penultimate Friday where we finally watch our film. You have to choose out of the batch of films which one you want to see most for Movie Night. (ex. Comic book movies - Batman, Watchmen, Deadpool, Spider-Man, etc.). The website we will use for voting is Strawpoll.
    Q: Can we watch lewds?
    No.
Q: Am I able to suggest movies or movie themes?
Anytime, anywhere. Though leaving a comment on my profile would be the best way to get my attention.
    ---------------
With all that said, I think I've covered everything. Hope that this is able to work well and get off the ground once more! Thank you for reading.

Objective racism versus subjective racism, the old battle. Different sentiments, but same results.
The New Deal coalition in America united the average Southerner with the average Northerner. The Southerner generally had principled views of white supremacy. The Northerner might not have had an issue with non-whites per se, but they certainly were on board with discrimination because it protected their job prospects and status. This sort of divergence became especially apparent as time went on, as the South was busy enacting Jim Crow while the North left discrimination to private bodies. Racism as principle versus racism as self-interest. Either way, it's racism.
So in much the same way, a left-wing worker being for the Leave decision doesn't indicate anything, since they're ultimately just as interested in a racist outcome. Whether one's interested in getting rid of Muslims or simply reducing economic competition, there is a racist side effect. Left-wing causes accept xenophobia with open arms since it protects their job prospects; this is an inevitable consequence of left-wing groups not going fully left and embracing internationalism.
This is a classic divide at work. You have the often conservative upper class, the liberal educated middle class, and then the rank and file working class who will happily support whichever side's ideas sound the best for job prospects.

The bulk of that e-mail conversation is strikingly similar to an article I read about why a good deal of the working class has swung away from the Democratic Party to the GOP and Tea Party- that being that their concerns about long-term employment have either been ignored or been dismissed, with or without accusations of racism. I do think there are significant issues of abandonment on part of urban liberals towards rural conservatives despite both sharing huge common ground in terms of economic equality, similar to how the GOP has basically abandoned black America, that would be pertinent for liberal parties to address by opening up channels of communication, even if it's just in the context of the fact that you're dealing with human beings here who need a way to advance their own way of life for themselves and their children. But- and this is big but- one's ignorance is not an excuse for xenophobic sentiments in regards to the immigration issue, and dismissing this as "well, they can't articulate the real problem so they're going to lash out!" is not only extremely condescending, but it's a larger symptom of what I call mythologized racism: the belief that the only real racism is racism that is conscious, blatant, and targeted, and everything else can be waived away or shouldn't be called "racism". There is really no excuse for anyone to be attacking the existence and moral character of entire immigrant class as "the problem," especially if they're going to turn around and balk at generalizations towards them that say they're "the problem" for being racist. You can't have your cake and eat it.
Are all Leave voters notably racist? No, not at all. But to ignore or try to downplay the element that is is incredibly dishonest. These kinds of biases and prejudices, to me, are basically the foundation of social interaction and must be hashed out as immediately as possible, because if nothing else, it is completely impossible for you to claim common ground with someone if you don't respect them as a person.
