  1. you know its just occuring to me that since I've joined back in 2015 and despite the fact that I have met friendly people on ssmb, that I don't have any friends here.

      A weird paradox.

I hope that changes for you soon.

maybe. but lately it feels like checking around ssmb has just been leaving me frustrated or depressed or mildly content from reading some posts. but with my art topic covered in cobwebs, news that I would find out via twitter anyways,me leaving motobug, I can't come up with anything to add to the sonic related topics that hasn't already been said and general fact that I've been more social on other sites (twitch, discord, twitter)

It just feels like I have no reason to stay anymore. And odds are I'll quickly be forgotten anyways save for whoever I stay in contact with outside of ssmb.

Don't say that, you're part of the ssmb family just as everyone else!

and odds are someone will show up to fill the void after I'm gone.

I've read posts where I'm remembered positively and I've read posts where "we still like you" "or don't give up hope" and so on. But those posts only come when I post that I'm feeling down or depressed in status updates...when I post thoughts about stuff barley anyone comes, when I posted to my art topic the last few times no new thumbs ups or criticisms, when I asked for advice on certain stuff no one replied, when I tried events early on one person came and that was it.

Ultimately the best I can say is that I was once active on these forms and that I had some fun times, but when I leave there won't be anyone to send good-byes when I make my quiet leave.

There is never any void-filling here as we are each our own unique kind of member. So if you leave the SSMB that’s a void that will never be filled.

Interaction with the community is something I cannot stress enough. It’s not all about what you initiate or what you do whether it’s your own statuses, posts and whatnot. You have to reply to others and do it consistently and actively no matter the context if you have something to say.

Actually if you do that then members will be more inclined to give you attention back whenever you say or do something. Some balance is needed as it has to go both ways in order for it to work. Like you have to give to get.

So maybe give it a shot and see how it works out for you. Hope that helps and I hope you reconsider the thought of leaving here.
