      Pikachu is for babies.

Team Eevee is where it is at

I'd agree if you could evolve the Eevee.

  2. That's all dub nonsense. When Vegeta is talking about the legendary Super Saiyan, there's a sequence of images where a Golden Oozaru is shown, but it's not implied that the legendary Super Saiyan could only maintain the form in the Oozaru state. This is what is said about the legendary Super Saiyan. Chapter: 285 (DBZ 91), P4.1-3, P5.2 Jheese: “Su…Su…Super Saiyan…!? Th-the legendary mightiest of warriors…[ ] So h-he’s…The one thing Lord Freeza feared, the Super Saiyan…!!” Ginyu: “You don’t want to kill me? You don’t want any pointless fights…!? The Su-Super Saiyan is supposed to be the strongest warrior in the universe, who loves blood and battle…” This information was later appropriated for Broli, who is the "true legendary Super Saiyan".
  3. I wouldn't call any of this an improvement. Broli worked in his debut film because he was a weapon, a weapon used by Paragus to take revenge on the son of the man who attempted to destroy him and his son. Broli isn't meant to be a sympathetic character. He's the god damn Legendary Super Saiyan, which was described as the strongest warrior in the universe, a blood lusting killing machine more in line with the nature of the Saiyans described in the Saiyan arc. Broli and Paragus work as a pair. They play off each other in ways that feel appropriate with the lore and what they went through. This is why other Broli movies don't work as well, and making Broli a sympathetic character doesn't make him better, it just makes him different. Also, I never had a problem with Goku being the catalyst for Broli freeing himself from his father's control because there is a scientific basis for such a reaction. Experiences you have as a child can have a profound impact on how you react to the same experience later in life. Baby Goku causing baby Broli distress would likely lead to such a reaction, believe it or not. What's more, it's just amusing that baby Goku crying would have such an impact on the almighty Legendary Super Saiyan. It's honestly really Toriyama in a way.
  4. I see it as unoriginal, and by extension boring, but you do you.
  5. Well, that's great for those people, but it sounds like unoriginal fan pandering that's all spectacle and almost no substance.
  6. Honestly, this movie sounds like a 6/10 experience based on the spoilers I read, which is to say, it's line with the the latter 2 Broli movies in the original run of the series.
  7. Welp, after reading those Dragon Ball Super Broli spoilers, I can safely say that I'm not even going to try power scaling Super anymore.

To be fair, I gave up on power scaling back with the appearance of the Androids as they made Super Sayain look pitifully weak after it was just confirmed against Freeza that they were the most powerful thing in the universe. The need for an ever escalating threat was totally skewed with the Namek Saga and Freeza and part of why I ended up being a Gohan fan was because him not being a Super Sayain allowed a more nuanced continuation of the series. But well, Dragon Ball has always been Goku's story and escalation has always been a theme so...

Eh, the feasibility of an Earth scientist making artificial beings stronger than the self proclaimed emperor of the universe stretches credulity, but isn't of itself inconsistent. I'm talking genuine inconsistencies.

Base Gogeta is stronger than Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta, despite it being flat out stated that God was stronger than fusion during the Beerus arc, meaning God is stronger than a hypothetical Super Saiyan 3 Gogeta, and Blue is 50 times stronger than that. It don't make no sense.

Fusion has always been a funny beast to me as well as Super Sayain multipliers, but I definitely understand the problem with Fusion in this case. To an extent.

Considering at this point Super practically has three parallel versions (Toriyama's and Toei's and Toyotaro's adaptions thereof) I more have to ask myself how is fusion being interpreted here. Unfortunately until I see the movie myself it is a muddy topic especially since I'm hearing the fusion lasts for the full 30 minutes when Gotenks burns it out in 10 while Super Sayain 3 which is already a non power scaling inconsistency. AT best I can head cannon it being something along the lines of Migatte no Gokui being an aspect of Goku that has him subconsciously and instinctually using the fusion properly or even the whole Kaioken description and perfect ki control of Blue from the anime being a reason for it, but even then it is unquestionably broken. It's why I was not to fond of Gogeta being in the movie in the first place because he was either going to be a 5 second joke or completely broken. Unfortunately it seems to be the latter so...

Never thought i'd see the day where the easiest 3D platformer in existence would be compared to dark souls.

I was all prepared to disagree with you, then I read that tweet, now I'm all set to torch their whole sordid industry to the ground.

"Next I played Sesame Street Fun-time. It felt a little too much like Dark Souls for my liking."

Odds are he said that just to be a dumb memelord and get people riled up. And visit the site to get some of that sweet ad revenue.

Video game reviewing buzzwords to avoid:

      - It's like Dark Souls (spoilers: dark souls isn't the impossibly hard game you claim it to be)

      - Really makes you feel like Batman/Spider-Man/etc.

Of course Nintendo platformers have complete immunity to this because All Cartoony Platforms Are Nintendo.

      Mr Loopone

With many game journalists not playing the games properly (whether its lack of time or in many cases can't bothered) and many games getting easier for better or for worse, they think every game that requires timing and knowing patterns is Dark Souls.

If they think Dark Souls is hard, if they ever played Richard Burns Rally, Airwolf on the Amstrad CPC or games from the ZX Spectrum they... will.. cry...

  9. I really wish Gamefreak would find a way to make older Pokemon good again without having to resort them Mega Evolutions. They've already made tweaks to the stats of some older Pokemon. I don't see why they don't just do that across the board to try and make once good Pokemon viable again. I want to enjoy competitive Pokemon again, and that's hard to do when I'm forced to use Pokemon I just flat out do not like.

      Sega DogTagz

There are more than 700 of the buggers now. Finding a specific, competitively viable niche for each one is borderline impossible. GameFreak has to lean more on type combos, new moves and abilities to create diversity moving forward and that's a bit harder to do with the oldies.

Furthermore, if you tweak an older mon to be more viable, you'd only be creating the same problem somewhere else. Buffing an old mon could bump a mid gen or a new gen poke who shares similar traits right off the competitve map.

I feel like Z moves were an honest attempt to make a few of the lesser used mons more appealing.

It's practically too late for that with how much power creep there's been already. That said, there's definitely a lot of room for buffs on a lot of Pokemon, especially with moves. Looking at you, Pyroar's movepool

    3. Sega DogTagz

      Sega DogTagz

Pyroar needs a better ability. Why did they give a special attacker Moxie?!?!?!?!

I like signature moves separating what some pokemon can do better than others. I wouldn't be against seeing more of that kind of thing.

Reboots almost always suck, and resetting things would no doubt piss a ton of people off.

  10. If From Software ever decides to revisit Dark Souls, I hope they introduce fake bonfires, lol.

  11. God dammit. After playing Dark Souls for Switch for 60 hours, I keep pressing B to confirm.

    1. ThePrinceOfSaiyans

Dark Souls has got me all sorts of messed up trying to play Breath of the Wild again, lol.

  12. Dragon Ball Super is basically junk food. It tastes good, but it ultimately isn't very substantive, and you sorta feel like a slob after indulging. Dragon Ball GT is like a salad. It's substantive, but you'd probably rather be eating something else.

  13. The funni boys are playing Sonic the Hedgehog.
