Somehow I forgot that Kai starts with the Bardock Special. That's a big oof, given Dragon Ball Super: Broli adapts Dragon Ball Minus, and Dragon Ball Super follows Kai.
-
Just got back from Dragon Ball Super: Broli. Still an 8/10 for me. The story content is still meh, thanks to Minus, but god damn is it a spectacle.

Burn Up!! A Red-Hot, Raging, Super Fierce Fight (Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan) gets a 9/10.

So, I just need a Koffing and all the trade evolutions to complete my Let's Go Pikachu pokedex. Anyone wanna help out with that?

Just finished going through all the modern stages in Generations and the Sonic and Shadow stages in Adventure 2. I had a great time with both, but I definitely feel Generations demands less of you, even when you do the stages nigh perfectly.
-
Ah, a new record. Finished Sonic 1 with 4 Chaos Emeralds.

Herms: "Freeza kinda takes on the role of Eggman from Sonic in this film, wherein he gets this new ally, and he ultimately betrays him in the end."
OMFG, that's so true.

Everyone is such a cunt in episode 68, lol.

So, like, you defuse after an hour if you aren't a Kaioshin, but Zamasu never actually became a Kaioshin, He just put the Potara earring on and he was suddenly a Kaioshin for some reason. If that's how it works, Goku and Vegeta should become Kaioshin by putting on Shin's earrings. Does killing a Kaioshin make you a Kaioshin or something, lol?
And oh boy, I'm on episode 67 now. Fuck.

You know what I want out of this Dragon Ball games stream thing? Actual costumes for characters in FighterZ. The Yardrat outfit for Goku would be cool. A Majin Vegeta skin for Super Vegeta would be cool. A Saiyan outfit for Kuririn would be cool. No. 18's casual outfit would be cool. Tenshinhan's classic Gi would be cool. Etc.

So when do you think we're gonna get another fully 3D Sonic game?
-
Speaking of Sonic 3, there's been plenty of time to let it stew, Sonic 3 or Sonic Mania?

More originality, Knuckles' levels have more significant usage of his abilities in 3 beyond just Mirage Saloon Act K, Flying Battery was better designed in 3, a more fulfilling climax/ending, to name a few.
Of course Mania comes very close, and that's a hell of an achievement for a fan developed game seeking to live up to the reputation of a predecessor with two decades of hype fueling the desire for a faithful follow-up.

@Maxtiis those are very good points, though i'm not sure about flying battery. i think the original has more mechanics and setpieces that kinda waste your time, while mania's version is faster paced and more interesting to me as a result
-
Mania's takes me about 6-7 minutes to beat just act 2, whereas I can finish 3's in at least 4, but that's just me. The wind just gets on my nerves a bit and the boss's hitbox is just odd.

Sonic 3.
Outside of its originality, it's just the more complete game. For the time, it was actually pushing the industry forward in every aspect and was simply a well made, fun game at its heart.
Mania is certainly good and I still believe that it's first 4 acts are downright the best showing of the classic formula to date but after that... everything else just falls flat for me (besides the music). The later levels fall into the same basic pitfalls seen in other classic titles from years back. It basically being a level compilation doesn't help it. There is virtually no story to speak of. And, while it can't be helped, it doesn't have Sonic 3's credit of actually being technically outstanding for the time.
Though, this is coming from someone who is always going to be more Modern focused than anything so take this as you will.

I don't know... From what I hear from everyone, Mania surpassed Sonic 3K and is the best Sonic game. So be it I guess.
To me, Mania has the better art and level design, and for some, gameplay is everything. To me, Mania lacks in setting, structure, and the experience as a whole. Mania felt way too artificial to me, is hard to explain, but I can't help but feel disappointed about the way the game feels.
Is too much of a "party feel", it has no feel of adventure like Sonic 3K and even Sonic 1 did. The stage selection feels disjointed, the fact that the reused stages changed enough for some, not for me, specially Act 1 of most of them. I was hoping for more changes to it, like Hydrocity for example was an insane disappointment in the first time I played it. I was dreaming about how a Act 2 would have changed, and at the end... It barely changed. It made me see that despite the insane hype surrounding it, it wasn't for me. Meanwhile it surpassed everyone else's expectations.
I learned that I look forward about things that others don't. What is small details for some, to me is crucial. I was looking forward to the feel that Sonic 3K had, for the insane hype from the reveal to be justified, to feel nostalgic with everyone else and "feel the magic". I didn't see it. I still don't. And it just got worse because people treat it like the second coming of Christ. It makes me very upset that I do not see the big deal.
Sonic 3K is just a game has almost everything on point. Like... Every section is well made. Mania surpasses some sections but heavily downgrades others. (Example Sonic 3K has great level design and great feel of adventure. Mania has near perfect level design and zero feel of adventure for me.)
Sure, is nostalgia... But Sonic Mania wasn't for those fans of Sonic 3K in specific? What happend to me though? What I was expecting? lol
I still hope for a Mania 2 to change that. A smaller game with fully original stages and a more solid setting and structure is all I ask for.
Phew, that's a book.
