  1. So, like, you defuse after an hour if you aren't a Kaioshin, but Zamasu never actually became a Kaioshin, He just put the Potara earring on and he was suddenly a Kaioshin for some reason. If that's how it works, Goku and Vegeta should become Kaioshin by putting on Shin's earrings. Does killing a Kaioshin make you a Kaioshin or something, lol?

And oh boy, I'm on episode 67 now. Fuck.

I think it was because Zamasu was the next in line. Though thats a guess.

  2. You know what I want out of this Dragon Ball games stream thing? Actual costumes for characters in FighterZ. The Yardrat outfit for Goku would be cool. A Majin Vegeta skin for Super Vegeta would be cool. A Saiyan outfit for Kuririn would be cool. No. 18's casual outfit would be cool. Tenshinhan's classic Gi would be cool. Etc.

  3. This vid is still great.

  5. Speaking of Sonic 3, there's been plenty of time to let it stew, Sonic 3 or Sonic Mania?

    1. ThePrinceOfSaiyans

      ThePrinceOfSaiyans

I'm personally torn. Sonic 3 is an original experience, but Sonic Mania cuts away a lot of the fat seen in the classics.

Sonic 3 still has 25 years of fandom love behind it, so it'll be pretty hard for anything to ever top it. It's the same for any game that becomes the quintessential experience of a series.

Mania, if it had more original levels. Otherwise, Sonic 3&K/3 Complete.

for those saying sonic 3 (most of you lol), i'm curious as to why?

    8. Maxtiis

      Maxtiis

More originality, Knuckles' levels have more significant usage of his abilities in 3 beyond just Mirage Saloon Act K, Flying Battery was better designed in 3, a more fulfilling climax/ending, to name a few.

Of course Mania comes very close, and that's a hell of an achievement for a fan developed game seeking to live up to the reputation of a predecessor with two decades of hype fueling the desire for a faithful follow-up.

I honestly can’t answer that as I find both games fantastic and blew me away at the time of their respective reveals and releases. Mind you this is coming from a predominantly  Modern Sonic fan...

Let me get back to you as I seriously need to think about this.

    10. Nast

      Nast

@Maxtiis those are very good points, though i'm not sure about flying battery. i think the original has more mechanics and setpieces that kinda waste your time, while mania's version is faster paced and more interesting to me as a result

    11. Maxtiis

      Maxtiis

Mania's takes me about 6-7 minutes to beat just act 2, whereas I can finish 3's in at least 4, but that's just me. The wind just gets on my nerves a bit and the boss's hitbox is just odd.

honestly i don't think i could choose. both are great, but in slightly different ways.

though if the question was "which would i want to play right now", it'd be mania, just because of how much more time i've already put into 3&K. even the best games can't be played endlessly.

      Sonic 3.

Outside of its originality, it's just the more complete game. For the time, it was actually pushing the industry forward in every aspect and was simply a well made, fun game at its heart.

Mania is certainly good and I still believe that it's first 4 acts are downright the best showing of the classic formula to date but after that... everything else just falls flat for me (besides the music). The later levels fall into the same basic pitfalls seen in other classic titles from years back. It basically being a level compilation doesn't help it. There is virtually no story to speak of. And, while it can't be helped, it doesn't have Sonic 3's credit of actually being technically outstanding for the time.

Though, this is coming from someone who is always going to be more Modern focused than anything so take this as you will.

Sonic Mania has better level design than Sonic 3 IMO and the Drop Dash is a godsend. If I didn't dislike the bosses in Mania so much It'd probably be even.

I don't know... From what I hear from everyone, Mania surpassed Sonic 3K and is the best Sonic game. So be it I guess.

To me, Mania has the better art and level design, and for some, gameplay is everything. To me, Mania lacks in setting, structure, and the experience as a whole. Mania felt way too artificial to me, is hard to explain, but I can't help but feel disappointed about the way the game feels.

Is too much of a "party feel", it has no feel of adventure like Sonic 3K and even Sonic 1 did. The stage selection feels disjointed,  the fact that the reused stages changed enough for some, not for me, specially Act 1 of most of them. I was hoping for more changes to it, like Hydrocity for example was an insane disappointment in the first time I played it. I was dreaming about how a Act 2 would have changed, and at the end... It barely changed. It made me see that despite the insane hype surrounding it, it wasn't for me. Meanwhile it surpassed everyone else's expectations.

I learned that I look forward about things that others don't. What is small details for some, to me is crucial. I was looking forward to the feel that Sonic 3K had, for the insane hype from the reveal to be justified, to feel nostalgic with everyone else and "feel the magic". I didn't see it. I still don't. And it just got worse because people treat it like the second coming of Christ. It makes me very upset that I do not see the big deal.

Sonic 3K is just a game has almost everything on point. Like... Every section is well made. Mania surpasses some sections but heavily downgrades others. (Example Sonic 3K has great level design and great feel of adventure. Mania has near perfect level design and zero feel of adventure for me.)

Sure, is nostalgia... But Sonic Mania wasn't for those fans of Sonic 3K in specific? What happend to me though? What I was expecting? lol

I still hope for a Mania 2 to change that. A smaller game with fully original stages and a more solid setting and structure is all I ask for.

      Phew, that's a book.

  6. I've already posted this, but if you haven't watched this yet, you should.

  7. The Future Trunks arc is so frustrating. There are plenty of elements I enjoy, but there are a ton I absolutely despise.

    1. Won't Stop, Just Go

      Won't Stop, Just Go

It goes on the "I like it" side of things because it's batshit insane in a fun way when you're actually watching it.

You can tell nobody had it together on the editorial side of things looking back tho

    2. ThePrinceOfSaiyans

I definitely like it, but it is certainly flawed

  8. Trunks's blue hair still bothers me.

  9. It's honestly crazy how good Iron Maiden's first album is.

  10. If Sonic Adventure does get remade, it's gonna be weird hearing Adventure's story through the current cast.

    1. Supah Berry

      Supah Berry

The only thing I'd really bring back would be Ryan Drummond and maybe David Humphrey, just for novelty purposes. I also want them to either keep Deem Bristows lines intant, or at least fine someone who sounds similar enough to him if they need to redo the lines. I simply can't see Mike Pollock pulling off those lines.

    2. altum_dolorem

      altum_dolorem

I figure they'd be unlikely to re-record the characters lines. Disgaea 1 Complete for the Switch and PS4 is a remake of a game that originally came out on the PS2 and they used the same dialogue from the original.

      I imagine it saves money.

    3. ThePrinceOfSaiyans

      ThePrinceOfSaiyans

Yeah, but the performances are part of the kinks that need to be ironed out, let's be real.

    4. Waveshocker Sigma

      Waveshocker Sigma

I'd legit hate to go through Adventure's story with the Modern cast. Outside of Mike Pollock, they just don't have the right edge and bite for it. It'd feel cheesy in a bad way instead of cheesy in a fun yet charming way like it normally is.

    5. Won't Stop, Just Go

      Won't Stop, Just Go

I'm hoping sega recasts everyone before it happens. The current cast isn't bad but they seem kinda flat/disinterested unless it's boom.

Hell, if it's the voice direction that's the problem a recast might not even fix that.

    6. Mega

      Mega

I think it's entirely voice direction and not the cast, honestly. That they do such a great job in Boom suggests that much.

    7. Zaysho

      Zaysho

Remake or whatever, I want the current cast to perform one good fucking script for a change before Sega boots them.

    8. Strickerx5

      Strickerx5

Honestly, the VAs we have now are pretty great. It’s just the material they’re given which is absolutely not so great. I think they’d be able to pull off SA. I mean even the 4Kids cast got their chance at it. XD

Personally, unless they’re going to bring back the majority of the original cast just for this game, I wouldn’t really want anyone else atm. The last thing this series needs is another VA shuffle. It’d be trying to fix a problem that really isn’t there.

Now the actual writers and voice directors is another story, but I’ve already gone into length about them...

  14. Welp, Toonami decided to show off Goku's ascension to Blue in Broli.

    Spoiler

As you can see, Goku uses Ultra Instinct very briefly. It's not in the storyboarding, so it's probably just an Easter egg, but still. SSGSS also has red flashes in the aura for some reason. Blue is very weird in this movie, lol.

Having Goku flash into UI for a brief moment is actually cool, and pretty smart. He still doesn't know how to transform into UI, and even then he doesn't think he could if he wanted to, but showing he still has the capability, as well as that scream easily being one of Goku's most painful shows that this probably is a painful one similar to when he had to go all out against Jiren.
