  1. I think I need to go on internet detox mode for a while. I've not been feeling well and I just need to regroup and refocus. See you guys later, and I hope you enjoy Lost World!

  2. I feel like I've been having an anxiety attack all weekend, but nothing has happened to trigger it. My stomach is just absolutely killing me

  3. Sometimes I don't know if I feel upset because I'm sick or if I feel sick because I'm upset

      Jack / Joker

I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired

  4. Crap. Just opened a letter from my employer. I'm temporarily laid off due to the shutdown. At least now I can file for unemployment benefits. :/

    1. Komodin

Well, it's only temporary, right? At least your job is somewhat secure whenever those dopes at Congress manage to pull their heads out of their butts long enough to can this nonsense, right?

    2. BlazingTales

Most definitely, I love my job and I'm lucky to even have one. It's just I still have bills that need taken care of and I could really use the money. Hopefully things will get sorted out soon so I can get some more hours in.

  5. So I really want the preorder DLC for Lost World, but I don't have a Wii U and I can't imagine one would be in the books for some time...

    1. Solly

Pick up the game at launch anyway. Then when you get a Wii U, you'll have Lost World and the DLC.

    2. BlazingTales

I thought about that, but I remember my codes for Generations expired a few months after release. I don't think I'll have myself a console to redeem them on beforehand.

  6. Eh, I don't know, I thought it was cool. Then again, over-the-top cop shows are kind of my thing so this episode checked a lot of boxes for me. I like the Triple Threats and their previous interactions in the show, so seeing them again was a nice bonus. I also found it interesting they are still operating after their leaders lost their bending. Bringing up the whole love triangle thing so soon was a tad off-putting, but I'd rather they correct the lack of closure from last season than continue awkwardly limping around it. I wouldn't worry about the Eska-Bolin-Ginger thing: there's not a chance that it will be played for anything serious. Dat ending tho.
  7. That can't be it!! D:

  8. "I hate them and their stupid moustaches"

  9. The way dictionaries sound out words makes me laugh sometimes.

  10. What if I told you apples and oranges are actually the same?

      But they taste different...

    2. Celestia

Then why aren't we allowed to compare them?!

  11. I got stuck in traffic, was late to class, my partner didn't show up so I had to do a project on my own, the zipper on my jeans broke, I had a really difficult test, it's pouring rain and I forget an umbrella, and now my car won't start. :|

I give up. I'm cutting my losses and going home, before I end up getting robbed or something.

    6. Nepenthe

      Sorry about that. x.x

  12. I have such a strange love/hate relationship with Sonic X. There were a lot of things I liked about it, like how it believably expanded on game storylines and had some genuinely funny and cute episodes. But, on the other hand, it's X.

    1. AlphaRuby

      It's not Underground, at least.

    2. Vertekins

Same here. I was a big aficionado of X in the past and whilst I do think that it has some genuinely great and magical moments, it reeks of being a show that could've been so, so much more.

  13. It just occured to me that the Rabbids from Rayman and the Minions from Despicable Me are pretty much be interchangeable.

    1. Amomynous

They do behave very similarly yeah.

  14. New Korra ep has my new favourite deskflip.gif

  15. I'm trying to get my friend registered for Medicaid or another healthcare plan. How the heck can you be a single mother, with a young child, making only $12000 a year, and /still/ not qualify for Medicaid? This is freaking ridiculous!

It's bad because she has a tumor in her thyroid she's supposed to monitor, and her thyroid has been acting up lately. I'm worried about her health, she needs to go tovthe doctor but just doesn't have the money.

  16. Yay, government shutdown. If this isn't sorted out by Friday, I don't get to work and I don't get paid.

  17. I was unintentially sucked into a bible study discussion. That was awkward.

    1. Jeffhog

      How did that go? O_o

    2. BlazingTales

I sat there quietly, acted like I was interested in the discussion, and tried to be polite when they all pounced at me when it ended. :|

  18. Are you familiar with hybrid martial arts/MMA? It's a modern fighting style that combines various disciplines, and saw its rise in urban environments that hosted different fighting styles. Republic City is the first time benders of all elements have lived under one nation, so it's easy to deduce that cross-contamination can happen. It's not like there's no precedent: in the original series, Iroh adapted a waterbending technique with his firebending to redirect lightning. Civil Wars, Part 2 is easily the best of the season so far, the wait for next Friday will be agonizing. Also, can we all agree that Varrick is the best character? Because Varrick is the best character. <3
  19. Your signature is cuuuuute! :>

  20. Easily the best episode of Korra this season, the wait for next Friday will be agonizing!

  22. Got the score from the test I was worried about-- got a 99. Woo!

  23. Holy freaking crap, neighbours. Can you please warn me before randomly launching fireworks? I thought a cannon just went off or something.

    1. BlazingTales

My poor dog is freaking out, and I can't blame him; it's so loud and startling.

    2. Lady Soniko

      Lady Soniko

read this as "please warn me before you start going at it" fuck... I need to get "some" again soon..

    3. Jeffhog

Then you'll have to stay up all night 'til the sun.

    4. BlazingTales

The fireworks are obnoxious enough, but if they warned me before /that/, I'd be out of here in a heartbeat.

    5. BlazingTales

Aah, Jeffhog, stop, you'll get it stuck in my head again.

    6. Lady Soniko

  24. I'm sorry, did you say something?

  25. I think the situation is a little more grey than that. Unalaq is the South's chief, too, he doesn't see his actions as an invasion so much as an occupation to prevent potential rebellion. He feels he's just doing his job. On top of that, we've yet to see what Unalaq's plans are in uniting the two cultures, so it is too soon to call it a bloodbath (though severely misguided is a relatively fitting label). Korra hasn't taken sides with anyone when it comes to these tensions; she understands that both sides hold powerful convictions and is trying to iron out the differences without it amounting to outright civil war. I actually think Korra was somewhat justified at being upset by her father lying. Not telling her about his past and what he learned from it is a pretty selfish move, and more to protect himself than her from shame. It's not even like it's nothing that should concern his child, either: it is literally her responsibility as Avatar to know these things. That said, I think this episode really enlighted us on Tonraq's side of things and cast his decisions in a more sympathetic light. It was really heartwarming seeing the two reconcile in the end: they both have their best interests at heart. That's the thing, though: diplomacy with the spirits is impossible. It's strongly implied that the spirits don't adhere to the same moral codes as humans, nor can they necessarily comprehend what morality is. There is no 'good' or 'evil' spirit, so their actions aren't influenced by heroics or villainy, but what they consider conducive to their survival. You can't really blame a bee for stinging you when it feels its hive is in danger. To make matters more complicated, you can't wage war if you can't land a hit; bending has proved useless against them, and an invasion of their world is infeasible given bending doesn't even work there. So, the only option is to appease them for your sake and their's, as in nature. Besides, some spirits are inextricably linked to life on earth, like La and Tui. The answer is leading them to balance, not aggression. [\Irohisms] I've heard similar advice before, though the analogy usually involves a bandaid versus a leech. But they're both used for medical purposes, so I guess the sentiment is the same. It's a pretty valid piece of advice for someone who wants out of a bad relationship but doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Yet whatever the case may be, I still loved that Bolin called him out on things, that was absolutely priceless. xP I can't even express how ecstatic I am for the Spirit World's long awaited appearance. I can't help but wonder if Ikki was "spirited away" by accident, and that Jinora enters the Spirit World alongside Korra to search for her out of guilt. Regardless, it looks like we'll being seeing a lot of the dynamics between Tenzin's siblings and his children, and I look forward to seeing how their resentment is resolved. On the subject of Jinora... http://sherbies.tumblr.com/post/61422809328 Aang may have been a poor father, but he makes the best grandad.
