"Xじゃない" can mean "not X" but also "isn't that X" So Tangle is saying "Oh! Hey you're a celebrity! It's Tangle the Lemur."
I was expecting her to either be あたし/atashi or あたい/atai, so I am pretty happy about this. I wasn't expecting her to use modern slangs (トラブる/toraburu instead of トラブルになる/toraburu ni naru) but that's a pretty fitting trait for her. One tiny personal complaint is I was imagining her speech to be always gender neutral (so no "-よ/yo" or "-わ/wa" at the end).

I haven't played TLOU but know the basic plot of the story, but glancing at the leaks....I can totally see how ton of people will be turned off by it narratively.
Most of the "too progressive" voices are coming from both sexist/homophobic/etc. people. The said "progressive" parts I read doesn't sound that bad, some I agree just a little (as in, did you need this part kinda way), other seem to be only accused and not confirmed.

As Big Panda said, making a hetro character bi is more natural than flipping their preference to the complete opposite.
...you know love isn't just about sex, right? it can be emotional/romantic too. Unless the kids are very small, they should know/have some form of crush and love. There's multiple RL stories where a kid asks a gay adult "why don't you have a [partner of the opposite gender]?" and they totally understand the answer, "well I like [same gender]".
Like hetro romance, it should be treated as natural and not put too much focus on the orientation/preference itself. It will feel forced if they take the time to point out a man is dating another man and how it's 'different', with the other characters reacting "wait, you're gay!?" "wait, what doesn that mean??"...unless it's important to the story. It won't if the man casually introduce his bf and no one makes a fuss.
They can have Sally mention she was close with a male character in the past, while ""dating"" a girl (cuddling, holding hands, whatever people associate with love) in the current time. They can have her blushing or flirting with both male and female characters. Sure it can be interpreted differently by people, and parents can make up excuess for their kids, but that's enough for the writer to say she's bi. I mean adult readers immediately theorized Tangle was lesbian because she was excited at Blaze, same with Whisper for becoming besties with Tangle.

KoDaiko got a reaction from Monkey Destruction Switch in Things you remember, feel nostalgic for, but can’t find
One that I immediately thought of reading this thread, is what seems to be a climax scene from a horror movie I saw as a child. From what I can remember:
there is a room/hall with checkered floor and walls there are a bunch of kids? trapped inside said wall there are faces that appear on the checker squares to talk (some had arms stretching out instead) I think there were an adult or two there is a young boy that seems to be evil there is a young girl who seems to be nice the girl is slowly sucked into a door? Acting-wise she is spinning around while slowing walking toward it Said boy changes his mind last minute to save her I consider myself decent at finding movies based on small details I find, but I could never find out what this was from.

I'm not gonna watch, but I hear positive reaction from people. That's nice.
...Well except for the "we already knew the big reveal" reaction. I've heard that Namagem's identity was supposed to be kept secret, which makes sense.
But then, I'm sure anyone will figure out with that name.

Aw man....and I used to think SM's design was bit weird.
Is it just me or some of the Pokemon look inconsistent in their design/style?
I cannot decide which starter I like better. This is the first time none looks appealing to me...

KoDaiko got a reaction from Miragnarok in Canon Immigrants
I wonder how much Ian would be able to recycle, and how much he can juggle without making IDW into Archie 2.0.
The FFs and game cast most likely won’t be friends anymore. Will there be a change in dynamic? Can Sally still be a princess? Can Nicole keep her lynx-avatar? Can Antoine and Bunnie still be in love? Will the kingdom and relatives/friends of the FFs be carried over? Will the FFs be entirely new characters at that point? Will fans be happy with that??
Another concern/question I had was that the FF is a team of 5 with much lore. It's different from wanting Sticks, which is one character with simple lore. I'm not saying they'll "steal" the spotlight, but I feel  it'll be hard to treat them as minor/cameo.

I wasn't sure where to put this (hey didn't I do this before?), but while writing down the Q&A for the newest Bumblekast #90 there was one Archie MM question.
Might was well write it here. Includes the original question and timestamp:

I mean, yeah. I just feel it's too straightforward in Japanese.
Idk, I'd prefer if they go a bit more creative, like "cool (like in a chuuni/edgy way)" or "silly" , as they do the high-damage moves. Example:

Japanese pokemon doesn't use kanji for names and moves. It'll be in hiragana, so もろはのつるぎ (mo-ro-ha no tsu-ru-gi). Which is still under the limit. Though I feel it should be a physical move for it to make sense. Also, there's already a move called もろはのずつき (mo-ro-ha no zu-tsu-ki), "Head Smash" in English.
I need to mention though. The Japanese name doesn't have to be translatable into English, or vise-versa. There are many moves that have a different name in Japanese and English, for example
"Mindblown" and ビックリヘッド = "Head Surprise" "Assist" and ねこのて = "Cat's Paw" "Head Charge" and アフロブレイク = "Afro Break" "False Swipe" and みねうち = "to strike with the back of one's sword" (for reference, Final Fantasy translates it as Swordstrike or Bladebash) So whatever silly name Japan comes up with, the English version can still be called Double-edged Sword. Or not, idk what the word limit for the English version is.

Eh...I'm sure it will succeed, even if it may be moderate. As long as they don't mess up big time, it's gonna be a harmless movie that is hated by the core fans but indifferent by the majority.
The fact it looks like any other live-action CG cartoon mascot film guarantees it. I'm sure those unfamiliar/hating Sonic (or one of those people who worship americanization/hollywood-izations) will say "OH! FINALLY IT LOOKS GOOD" because they assume anything live-action with decent enough CG and realism is better than the original cartoon. And like the emoji movie, people will go see it as a joke or to see if it's actually bad.

I wonder if the design changes is because Sega assumed/were tricked convinced by the production that it would appeal to a broader audience: "Do you think THAT would fit in live-action?? It's going to clash so badly! Do you know what's better? It should be more 'realistic'! It's the trend right now! Many people unfamiliar with these type of games are put off by the cartoony designs! People would love THIS!!  Besides...the more it looks different, the more attention it gets!"
If it's the game and anything related to the game Sega of Japan would be strict, but since this is more of a spin-off (and a live-action movie, which I'm sure Sega is not so familiar with) perhaps Sega is more flexible and gullible open to ideas.
