  4. Xmas avatar! Though is the same from last year, it's still pretty cute.

  5. If the Sonic the Hedgehog series doesn't had its name, what else would you call it?

    I think 'Blue Blur' would be the more convenient, but I don't think it matches the classic series.

    And then, Indiana Jones is abducted by Aliens and says he have a call to save a Galaxy Far Far Away and then is renamed to Han Solo.

      "My name is Mario, brother to Luigi.

      I'm a plumber, and a poor one at that. I'm also dead, and my brother might or might not be by the time anyone reads this. If you're a concerned neighbor or just a very stubborn mailman, I apologize for the inevitable therapy following the discovery of my corpse. If you're Luigi's 'caretakers' or the police or swat or whatever else search team is going after him, fuck you.

      The hollow shell once known as my brother - god bless him - escaped the building you were supposed to keep him locked into this morning. As if your treatment and neglect wasn't enough - I honestly thought your disgusting medical bills would be my main and only concern.

      You have time and time again fucked me so hard that you've robbed me of my future. Everything I cannot not and will not deal with this torture anymore. Wherever you are, I love you Peach. Sorry it had to go this way. The system will pay for Luigi's well being, no one else. Goodbye world"

      That was actually pretty sad. I was expecting something like:

      "Hi, I'm Mario,

      You may know me from the videogame series with my own name. I was awaiting the bus to World 1-1 at this day, but then someone said me the bus line was outdated and not working in this region anymore.

  9. Considering on write my first Star Wars fanfic, what do you guys think? Already building a sketch line in mind.

  10. If this is your kind of game, the complete Tomb Raider series is with discounts on Steam. Some which even I are interested on get, but I think I'll finish the ones I have first.

  12. In one month it will be Christmas...

    Even though stores nearby are already decorated since the last two weeks.

  13. Just found one of the characters of my next story have the name of a porn star. At least is her real name not "artistic" name. And her surname has a double "a", while mine not.

    Don't think is convenient to say the name I'm naming her (Don't think I'll change as it's a bit hard to find her).

  14. Challenge: Spot a Bad thing in your favorite game(s)

    Spoiler

    Sonic Mania: Some levels choices were very useless such as Metallic Madness, Lava Reef or Hydro City.
    UT2004: The campaign start is pretty boring, the game is also a bit confusing sometimes regarding its "rules".
    LEGO Indiana Jones: Very buggy, tbh.
    Tomb Raider (Franchise in general): Sorta goes too fictional for a game focusing in real world historical fact. (Like humans with dinosaurs).
    Cities Skylines: Loading take too long to load a city.
    Jet Set Radio: Gameplay is confusing at the point I feel I finished the game twice but have no idea if I'm done with it.

    1. Blue Blood

      Blue Blood

      Just on that note about Tomb Raider, it was never supposed to be believable. It was all about myths, legends and truths lost to time. The first game wastes absolutely no time in pitting you against a T-rex that was alive after being hidden away in some remote mountain village. You then go to Atlantis and Ancient Egypt, picking off mummies and weird mutant Atlantean creatures... You play as Lara Croft, the impossibly well-endowed hobbyist treasure hunter who runs around the world in hot pants and a vest top, performing remarkable feats of athleticism whilst duel-wielding a couple of a pistols.

      If you criticise the games for delving too much into the realm of fiction, well, you're doing it wrong.

      It's weird, I usually have Nostalgia for things I even lived, but in short: memories of playing PS2 games while I listened a track from 2003 (Which also was the year I born). I appreciate things from this era (Late 90's until Mid/Late 2000's).

  17. Happy 20 Birthday Unreal Tournament!

    Not that Epic still mind much with you, but it still being the franchise owner of UT2004, maybe my favorite game of all time!

    Sadly Epic did nothing cool for the birthday, not even game discounts. Well, you can play Morpheus (My favorite and one of the most classic levels on the game) on Fortnite.

    Fuck.

      Well, forget it. Some random guy at the UT Discord gave me the complete Unreal Saga for free!

  18. Well, if everything ran well, today was my last day of school and I have 2 months of vacations. In nearly a week I'll receive the final results which will guarantee if I'll need to do a few more tests or not.

  21. Here's some crazy math I did:

    Flight Simulator 5.1 was the first FS game to use satellite images on its creation. The game had a little more than 4MB.

    Flight Simulator 2020 will have over than 2 Petabytes of World design. That's about 5x10^8 bigger than the first game. (2 Petabytes is 2x10^9 MB)

    Here is the numbers without scientific notation:

    Spoiler

    5x108 = 500000000 (five hundred million)

    2x109 = 2000000000 (two billion)

    I own Flight Simulator 5.1 and looking forward to FS2020 is this one doesn't come in a stratospheric price.

  22. Has anyone already create a coherent theory about the Sonic 3 Beta Soundtrack or no one still had time to think about it?

    1. JezMM

      JezMM

      What's there to theorise?  Unless new info subverts this, it seems fairly straightforward that the PC music was originally composed alongside everything else, MJ was brought it for the celebrity appeal, a few tracks were composed, MJ lost interest after frustrations with the sound quality, and then they decided to just use what they had.  Then the scandal happened and he went uncredited after all the effort.

      Monkey Destruction Switch

      @JezMM The only thing is, the MJ controversy beginning predates this prototype.

    3. Solister

      @JezMM Actually (You can, and likely is right), but for me it still sounds pretty strange when MJ reaches the story:

      1st: IceCap (Genesis/Final) isn't a MJ song, but a The Jetzons songs called Hard Times. Even made by Brad Buxer (MJ keyboardist), MJ has no direct relation with the song. Why compose that for the final game and why change it on S&K Collection?
      2nd: Why MJ would be frustrated with Genesis sound quality if he already received his own game released 2 years before? That Sound quality wasn't anything new for him.
      3rd: Unlike, but cool to remember, MJ would later keep contact with SEGA doing a partnership for Space Channel 5, so I think his relations with the brand would be very fine and strict.
      4th: But not much to theorize about this, is why they decided to use the final songs than the originally composed for the game. If MJ wouldn't be credited and his image was at low, it would be a content waste in both ways of using the original prototype/final music content.
      5th: If there's nothing wrong with the Prototype tracks, than why SEGA decided to never remake S3 (As well even put it in an emulator for so long)? It's nothing new that SEGA already heard (And likely considered) the possibility of rerelease the game using the S&K Collection soundtrack.

      I still think there's something more in this story. But can't take much time to analysis as my life is in hurry now. But I'm starting to distrust MJ also have relations in this prototype as already have been theorized in S&K Collection.

    4. JezMM

      JezMM

      @Monkey Destruction Switch

      Ah didn't know that, was an assumption on my part there.

      @Solister

      The thing about MJ not liking sound quality is something I feel I've read many times before, but perhaps it's been proven as misinformation since?  I'm aware about Ice Cap's origins, presumebly MJ and Buxer were sharing composing duties.  As for the change, I assume the copyright issues are the case for his music just as much as MJ's.

      The one thing I can answer (if I understand your wording correctly) is regarding emulation - the music is no issue for emulated versions of the game because they're still just distributing the same original game program that was on the cartridges. The vehicle of distribution is different, but all the legal agreements related to the original release should apply to emulated versions as far as I understand. The problem arises when the game is being run natively (S&K Collection) or in a remake on a new engine (like the hypothetical Taxman remake).

      But yeah, IF the music is the cause of no re-release, I do wonder if it's just one of those weird things that the company is oddly nitpicky about, like how Sonic always has to be blue in Smash Bros, or how Egg Gauntlet was turned down for a more generic boss rush mode in Taxman's Sonic 2 because they didn't like the idea of the bosses being fought outside of their original aesthetics. In that same way, maybe they just refuse to re-release Sonic 3 without the soundtrack most people know.

    5. Solister

      Solister

      Can't say much for MJ and Buxer relations. About S3&K rereleases: I thought the same before the prototype until I get aware it's been over 10 years Sonic 3 & Knuckles received a rerelease, either port, either emulator. Just see at Mega Drive mini, whereas I thought S1 and 2 were more "classics" than 3&K, and just now someone brought me attention to the soundtrack. I mean, I'm not disagreeing with you either way this can be merely coincidence. You have a point in the last statement, but in the case of Egg Gauntlet they still did a work around, which could be something similar to be done here.

      In short, I guess there's still much untold truths and invalidate information about this history to we reach a conclusion.

  23. Apparently. Homing Attack was planned on Sonic 3.

  24. SONIC 3 ORIGINALLY HAD S&K COLLECTION MUSIC FOR CARNIVAL NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!
