  1. http://www.marza.com/en/ Marza Studios(formerly known as VE Animation Studios) is a Japan-based CGI animation studio formed by Sega Sammy Holdings. While they are currently known as SEGA's main CGI group for their games, recently they have become dedicated to making full-length feature films such as Space Pirate Captain Harlock, the upcoming movie titled Robodog, & now it has been announced that they are going to produce the CGI in the Sonic The Hedgehog movie. Most of you are familiar with the amazing CG videos they have produced for the Sonic series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P92wur4qBqc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gL9EtmAUwM4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpacfQ2b3JA What are your thoughts on this studio?
  2. So, a while back Sony announced they were working on a new Smurfs movie that would be fully animated, close to the style of the original show. Not much info, or even artwork was shown until recently, that is. The new movie has been set with the title Get Smurfy, and Entertainment Weekly has a new image, as well as some info on the film. Uhh, I'm not sure if the person who wrote the article or gave the info to Entertainment Weekly ever watched The Smurfs, but the reason there's only one girl is because Gargamel made Smurfette as an evil ally of his. She later joined everyone else because plot and... that's it. Then again, they mention it's a reboot so perhaps they're going to retell that story in some form. I'm really looking forward to this. Yes, 2017 is a long time, but the character designs are looking great. I love how this film and the new Peanuts film managed to capture the spirit of the original source material in CGI. It looks beautiful and I can't wait to see it in motion!
  3. With news on a teaser premiere for the upcoming 2015 CGI Peanuts Movie (Announced back in 2012) it seems that a topic should be put up for Peanuts fans to discuss about. This was from cartoon brew: http://www.cartoonbrew.com/feature-film/first-look-at-cgi-peanuts-by-blue-sky-studios-97505.html although I can tell they are pissed with the things they are being showed. Whatever, consider me excited! Anyway, what do you think? Start discussing! Edit: I know somebody put it up on this topic, but here it is! The trailer. (Snoopy's fur is so....furry.)
  4. Project Sweet Dream. More than being a part of the credits, I feel this short moved me more than anything Sonic related for quite a while. Being quite away from this fanbase for some time, I think this is quite the feat. Technically, it may not be the best feat done or the best piece of animation, but I felt that this short did what it wanted to do really well. A great way to celebrate the 24th anniversary. Everyone in the team is very proud of what this has become and how its being spread, and hey, thought I'd do my part to help out. Hope you enjoy it, like it and share it!
  5. Ok, so sorry this is rough, but we seem to have lost the old one in the purge(surprised it took this long to discover) Disney Animation Studios have made many animated movies that have touched our hearts and brought laughter to our lives, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves to Big Hero 6 to Beauty and the Beast to Fantasia to Wreck-it Ralph. They have many movie coming up in the upcoming years and are considered to currently be in another revival period So intro away, the reason I made the thread is we have news on Moan, looks like Dwayne Johnson's going to be a singing Demi-god http://screenrant.com/dwayne-rock-johnson-disney-moana-musical/
  6. Yo, I'm JaiRo. Sometimes I make stuff, and sometimes I feel like showing it off. I'll be using this thread to show off some of the neat things I make. With each new post of mine to this thread I will be updating this first post, so I can pretend to organize things. 8. Hello, SSMB, since I dont have an art topic for myself or anything yet, ill just post up my most recent animation. Its my first Poke'mon parody and was done as a filler inbetween my Lizard Cops series episodes. Let me know what you think (I did disable a few blur effects because it caused flash to drop frames as it was exported to .MOV, so its definitely not my best work, but its made for fun anyway )
  9. "That's the good thing about us brother, we're already fucked up so we have nothing to worry about" ~"David Keaton" Quote from GTO:TTSOJTK. Trailer for Go To Sleep http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxYxgkU_mOI 2nd Trailer for Go To Sleep http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IqWaIRQlp4 Holy Crap! A Jeff the Killer fan movie! Made by Patrick Ferguson and Jack Helliquin of all people! XD! I am super excited! What is this? Well, sometime ago Patrick Ferguson (AKA MrBettyKruger) and Jack Helliquin came together to make an animated movie of Jeff the Killer, and it loots awesome! Some stills and animations have been leaked and I have to say, I'm impressed. I always thought Jeff the Killer was the Internets fist slasher villain, but he was always done wrong in the hands of such people like MrCreepypasta, who has had his hands on the story for just over 2 years. But I think this will be a lot better. Why? Well, lets look at the reasons why. 1. MrCreepypasta's stories where always so cliche and trite. Now don't get me wrong, MrCreepypasta has been a huge inspiration to be on how I should run my Radio Drama, but I don't think he is a great writer. I've read some of Patrick Ferguson Works, and I am impressed with his attention to detail with his stories. I think he is the most qualified to take the reins of this great story. 2. Jack Helliquin is an amazing Gridmark artist. Jack Helliquin has made some amazing things in the past that are just screaming Horror Movie. Here's a link to his Deviant Art page http://jackimn2008.deviantart.com . I think its time Jeff got into the visual medium, and I want no one but Jack Helliquin to do the work. And finally number 3 3.Fucking Finally. I mean, we've had Creepypastas of Jeff and Radio Dramas of Jeff. Hell, even full on manga's and Comicbooks of Jeff. But never a movie. I think it's fucking time we got some actual work put into a movie. I think this is a nice change of pace. That's what I think, what do you think? Are you excited for the JTK movie? What are some things that you hope for? What do you think about JTK in general? Do you like MrCreepypastas JTK dramas? I genuinely want to know
  10. Good evening. Okay, I believe I briefly mentioned this in my showcase topic. I was considering using that topic for this, but figured it could get pretty confusing. Also though about using the previous animation topic, but considering how many changes I made, I thought it best to start with a new one. So, who remembers this? I'd hate to come across as dragging this out, but to be honest, an animation was going to be the next stage of this project from almost the beginning. I also wanted to keep a couple of my favourite ideas from the original animation project we had planned, while hopefully changing things in a way that will make things easier for those that have not fully mastered there chosen art form. Like me wanting to help with the animation, I'd say I'm below a beginner in terms of skill. ^^; Currently the project does not have a deadline! So what's different? Well the original suggested an episodic type of deal with stories and dialogue. This new version doesn't need dialogue or sound effects, because if will follow alone with the chosen music. It also has a basic story that I came up with, completely by accident. There's a story?? Yes, the whole thing turned into one big metaphor. I'll write it in a spoiler tag. What did you keep? One of the key ideas I think we all like from the original is that SSMB is represented as a town or city. With buildings representing different topics of sections of the board. Why did you show that pic again?? Did I not say? ...oops, heheh. The characters featured in the animation will be the same characters featured in that image. Possibly also including those in the "DLC" list and a couple of special guests too. But I can't promise everyone will make the cut. Please don't be offended if your not featured, it wont be personal. I have chosen the condition that if a character is feature in a dance segment, they wont appear in the story segments. What's the music? Well I've always had a song playing in my head when thinking about it. So I'd nominate Crush 40s Sonic Youth. But if anyone has a better idea, please share. It's not set in stone yet, but I'd suggest picking a song as one of the first things to be done as it helps determine how long the video will be. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQ-jrf9UuGM Also toying with the idea of a second song that could play during an end credits type section. If anyone has any ideas. We could also use a completely customized song from one of our musical members if everyone can agree on one. Here's a possible end credit theme suggested by KaBlamJamDan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrqXpYwS9nI What do you need? Well, we don't really have to assign each member with a certain task for the moment, if that makes it easier. Just do whatever you feel like. But in terms of tasks, I'd say these: Several designs for buildings and areas within the SSMB City. I'd personally like a park area with a solid gold Sonic statue in the centre and a train station, for the hype train to travel alone. Half of the video will take place in "The Badlands" an area with a similar look to the place that Roadrunner and Wile E Coyote live. So we'd need designs for that too. Designs for the dance segments, places like on stage in dance halls or on a random street. Maybe even a fancy colourful background with lots of shapes. Members that aren't confident in drawing designs still want to help in some way, if would be cool if they located screenshots or art from the games that can be incorporated into the animation. Like a screenshot of the blimp in Radical Highway. It'll make things easier for the designers if a link for reference material was just in reach. I'll add links to all the concepts, reference material and any other useful stuff in the opening post. Props, we might need special props designed too. Anything that will give the backgrounds a little more character. Mostly just designing the areas the characters will be at. Once we have a solid collection of designs, the best ones are picked and need to be draw a clean version of, so it can be used as a background. Other jobs will include the optional creating a music track if it is desired, while the animation doesn't need to begin until much later. No doubt I'm forgetting something, but lets move on. So, the reason I called the story a big metaphor is because of what the monster represents. I've named him "Doubt" and his massive size represents a wall. So the character represents a wall of doubt that prevents you from moving forward. That is also why the citizens couldn't defeat it on there own. Consider Sonic representing all video games, hobbies, TV show or whatever you use to motivate and inspire you. That's why Sonic could easily beat it. Here's a quick size guide I mocked up: I also planned to reference a peace of art Inferno created. I've been sketching very rough panels to try and show what's playing in my head. The Inferno art I'm talking about is here: I also jotted down a segment I call "Rooftop Run" featuring Gabe. These sketches don't do my vision justice. I always picture Gabe leaping from buildings similar to how Sonic jumps to each rock in the Sonic CD intro. That would look awesome, if we could achieve it. Dance segment?? What do you mean by that? I haven't properly covered what I meant by dance segment. But I suspect the other otaku of the boards know what I meant. I should still cover it for those that might not know. These gifs in the spoiler tag are pretty much what I'm talking about when I refer to the dance segments. Just like in the gifs, each dancer are doing the same moves, regardless of how many there is. 11. Animaniacs is a zany to the max variety show from the 90s. Starring Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, this cartoon knew the meaning of comedy as its humor appealed to both children and adults alike! The number of adult jokes that slipped past the sensors is incredible! Anyone have any favorite episodes, segments, characters, or good night everybody jokes? Share your thoughts, feelings, and memories here! I can't wait to here them!
  12. I usually do flash symbol stuff but I decided to dabble in hand drawn animation more recently. The audio is from Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers. The animation was sketched in Toon Boom. Very short clip, 11 secs. http://youtu.be/ZXUxF3WexJA
