  2. What are some mandates that SEGA has for the characters or for the stories that you don't agree with or you wish that they changed? While these mandates are mostly related to the IDW comics, here are a few mandates that SEGA did with the characters and stories that I don't agree with: Regarding Shadow's characterization, I don't like the fact that SEGA is basically saying that Shadow should always be edgy and moody and not be allowed to express that many emotions. This also extends somewhat to the other characters, like Sonic where they can't be portrayed beyond their main characterizations in the games. The whole "Chao should be known as "it" instead of calling them "him" or "her." This wouldn't be a problem if SEGA had actually done this in the first place and not just make that rule so recently. It just ended up confusing the fanbase about how the chao should be addressed in the series.
  3. So, there's been a lot of talk lately about whether or not the Freedom Fighters from the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comic books should come into the IDW comics. For those of you who don't know who the Freedom Fighters are, they were basically characters who came from the Sonic SATAM cartoon series that came out in the 1990s and they made their way into the Archie Comics in the 1990s. For me on the one hand, I honestly don't mind the IDW comics being in a separate universe and staying much more closely to the games. On the other hand, I grew up watching Sonic SATAM and reading the Archie Comics, so I do miss the Freedom Fighters themselves and maybe there is a way that they could come into the IDW comics without being too in your face with the readers. What do you think? Do you want to see the Freedom Fighters enter the IDW comics or are you okay with the Freedom Fighters not being in the IDW comics?
  4. Are you pissed that Ken Pender's characters can't return unless they return by miracle standards? Then these are great options on replacing those characters. 1. Character Merges. - Julie Su should be replaced with a Female Echidna that is really beautiful and has ninja abilities. Like this Female Echidna named Ember the Echidna. - Scourge the Hedgehog - He should be replaced with Nazo the Hedgehog or Ashura the Hedgehog taking his place as Sonic's evil clone. Nazo the Hedgehog Ashura the Hedgehog - Fiona Fox - She should be replaced with a replica of Sally Acorn who looks like Alicia Acorn (the original Anti-Sally). Appearance of Alicia Acorn in which whom this Fiona Fox replacement should look like - Lein-Da - She should be replaced with a beautiful female anthropromorphic animal of any kind who could be a great henchwoman of Eggman especially the fact they will have the same personality as Lein-Da. These would be great appearances for a potential Lein-Da replacement. - Geoffrey St. John - Should be replaced with Aeon the Hedgehog Appearance of Aeon the Hedgehog - Hershey Cat - Should be replaced with a popular Female Sonic fan Character. Link to Female Sonic OCs https://www.google.com/search?q=female+sonic+fan+characters&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwj6_KXk-_TuAhWHGN8KHZwzBCUQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=Female+Sonic+Fan&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQARgBMgIIADICCAAyAggAMgIIADIGCAAQBRAeMgYIABAFEB4yBggAEAgQHjIGCAAQCBAeOgcIIxDqAhAnOgQIIxAnOgQIABBDOggIABCxAxCDAToFCAAQsQM6BwgAELEDEENQy78DWLfWA2DU5QNoAXAAeACAAU-IAcUIkgECMTaYAQCgAQGqAQtnd3Mtd2l6LWltZ7ABCsABAQ&sclient=img&ei=LCsvYPq2JYex_Aac55CoAg&bih=617&biw=1366&rlz=1CATMUU_enUS934US934#imgrc=pYyufFdIaFQ17M 2. Have Freedom Planet merge with Sonic This a great solution in my opinion due to the fact there are multiple Sonic/Freedom Planet Fan-fictions like Sonic x Freedom Planet: Power of Chaos Link to the Fan-Fiction: https://m.fanfiction.net/s/11786220/1/The-Power-of-Chaos So these are two potential solutions for replacing Ken Penders Characters if IDW decided to bring back the SATAM and Archie Characters,
  5. I know Sonic has been portrayed differently in most media all over the world but I wonder if our cultural values and norms affect how he is portrayed?
  6. I personally wanna know everybody's opinion on Blaze the cat,
  7. Hi there these are my IDW Sonic Comics Issues 1-36 and latest. I will be updating this thread when I get the latest Issues thanks for looking https://ibb.co/jbHnGD https://ibb.co/p0fc78y
  8. So, since it seems like SEGA is trying to start a new chapter for the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, what do you think that SEGA needs to do to improve the franchise? For me personally, they definitely need to improve on the writing. The writing for the series has been pretty much a hit or miss and I think that they need to start developing the characters again and not focus too much on the jokes. Another thing they should do is to allow the other characters besides Sonic to be playable characters. It's been awhile since we last played Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose and many others and I hope that the next Sonic game will have them as playable characters besides Sonic. And the last thing that SEGA should do is having no more gimmicks. That means that if one Sonic game is successful, don't try to repeat the storylines or the line delivering in the following games afterwards. Like for example, when Sonic Colors was a success, SEGA tried to make the other Sonic games that came afterwards have the same tone and dialogue as Sonic Colors. But it didn't quite work out because there were some Sonic games that just didn't have the same type of tone that Sonic Colors had, like Sonic Forces for example. Also, many fans will just be burn out by having the same type of games being shown over and over again throughout the decade.
  9. So, between the three comic book companies that had done the Sonic the Hedgehog comics, which of these three comic book companies did you enjoy the best: the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog Comics, the Fleetway Comics or the IDW Sonic the Hedgehog comics? The Archie Comics had much more bizarre moments that happened during its run, like the whole Sonic multiverse thing and it tended to go off the walls at times. The IDW comics however is much closer to SEGA's vision of the characters and its story lines tend to be a bit more straightforward compared to the Archie Comics. The Fleetway comics, while it had a meaner version of Sonic, had some creative story lines during its run.
  10. Over the past 3 decades (it feels weird saying that), our favourite blue hedgehog has had a ton of games and has branched out into all sorts of mediums. Loads of writers have been brought on board over the years, some of whom interpret the characters better than others. That said, which pieces of media do you think have the best and the worst interpretation of your favourite character? I'll start off with the hammer-swinging heroine, Amy Rose! Best: Sonic Adventure. This game really lets every part of Amy's personality shine, from her determination to do what's right to her compassion to, of course, her love for Sonic (although, other than the...questionable lyrics of My Sweet Passion, it's not in your face). At the start of her story, she can barely defend herself but by the end, she's helped a random Flicky find its family, befriended one of Eggman's robots (who she encourages to free himself iirc) and proved herself as one of the strongest members of the cast with her UN-declared weapon of mass destruction Piko Piko Hammer. If her arc in SA1 isn't character development, I don't know what is. Honourable mention: Sonic Heroes. I know a lot of people aren't a fan of that cutscene but other than that, I really like Amy in Heroes. She could've easily went after Sonic herself if she wanted to, but she didn't, instead helping Cream and Big find Chocola and Froggy. Also, she encouraged them not to give up multiple times throughout the game (after defeating the Egg Albatross when "Eggman" turned out to be a fake and they weren't close to finding Chocola and Froggy at all, and when Cream and Big felt scared at Hang Castle). Her optimism made her the backbone of Team Rose. Worst: Sonic Free Riders. I hate this game with a burning passion, and I especially hate how dirty it did Amy. Not only is her Sonic crush dialled up to 11, but she's a complete dick to everyone including Cream - you know, her best friend. A lot of 2000s Sonic media liked to give Amy the "psychotic fangirl" narrative, but at least she's enjoyable in them for the most part; she's extremely unpleasant in Free Riders and is one of the reasons why I never finished it.
  11. Sonic has been on the face of Comics,Tv Shows,Puma for Kids and of course video games. We know he's a hedgehog who saves the lives of animals and stops Robotnik (Eggman either one is fine). However i think it's a good idea to take a look at others point's of view and see what really makes Sonic,Sonic (if i can say this any better please let me know) What makes Sonic,Sonic for me is his brothership with Tails in the archie comics. Of course the video games now potray him as a coward who relys on Sonic (which i personally hate) The House of Cards arc was eye opening it showed me the character development of Sonic. It showed Sonic wasn't going to let his pride get in the way of the bond he had with Tails. So what do you think about what makes Sonic,Sonic please let me know!
  12. Yep... This'll be a thing now. So, I've been wanting to find something to write recently, but nothing has catched my interest as much as building a sort of comic universe based on a few of my favourite childhood heroes from Marvel. It started out small with me wanting to RP as Spider-man, but I wanted to give him a twist no other story has given him, so I've gone on and created Reverse Spider-man. This gave me the freedom of allowing to build a new story for him as the RP will go on while also sticking to the same concept of our beloved Superhero. That'll be always what I try to do with these stories that I'll create. You are familiar with them, yet you don't know who they really are at the same time. I wanna capture that feeling and make stories that you wouldn't have seen coming at all, and some stories that you think will play out the same as the original comics... only to then give it a twist that changes everything. For this, it'll be sort of like you're reading a comic. I'll describe things as best as I can while trying to make the narration sound like you're hearing from a commercial to hopefully give you an image in your head about what the page would look like. Believe it or not, I actually have a friend working on making a cover for the first issue of Spider-man, so I can't guarantee that there will be covers for every story. Had I been an artist or had the money to commission one I would make every story have it's own cover... More the reason to practice drawing, am I right? Of course, with this... comes a LOT of research I'll have to do, but I think it'll be fun! Hopefully I can gather information to make the best stories that grasp the concept firmly without going against the intentions of the original creators of these characters. This'll be the first volume. A "phase" if you will, like the MCU movies. This Volume will be the introduction to the true believers of how this world looks, and it'll start off with the two heroes I'm most Familiar with and they'll be the only stories running until the end of the first volume. Now while I mostly intend to work on writing most of these by myself, I'm considering collaborating with others that are just as passionate with this as I am to write some characters I'm not familiar with, such as the X-Men, but I do have an idea of what to do with mostly everyone, don't you worry! For now, I wanna hear everyone's thoughts about it. Do you wanna work along me to work on a certain character? Got any questions about something? Maybe even give me a few suggestions on how to make it feel immersive when writing things. I want to turn this project into something fun I can do as a hobby. Anyways, that's all from me, True believers. Tune in on the first Issue of the Reverse Web-Slinger, Spider-man! As he swings into action without experience in his first few days as a superhero, struggling with life as he has three jobs to take care of at the same time, and a cat that he always has to save from a tree. but does he have the skill to be on the top of the hill? We'll see on the first issue of "The Marvelous Spider-man! (Issue #1)" Excelsior.
  13. My Top 3 Sonic moments are..... 1.Sonic X Showdown In Space(SA2): This is when Shadow risks everything for the humans to save their world. I remember crying as a kid because I already knew death at a young age but when he came back to the series it was legendary and just in time. 2.Sonic Battle/Emerl: This game was awesome overall for a Gameboy game and the saddest thing was destroying the thing you created. I literally put hours into making him the ultimate fighter and now I had to beat my own creation. 3.Secret Rings/Ending Cutscene Sonic shows us how badass he really is by sending away a genie and saving another. This was so satisfying because I had a lot of difficulty with the motion controls and I made it through. Do you have a top 3 or maybe just one. Either way let me know below
  14. I am sure most of us heard once in our lives, "This piece of Sonic media goes against Sonic's tone and style". With that said however what is Sonic's tone and style? What is about the rest of the non Sonic Team Sonic media that they fail to capture that style and tone?
  15. Rank out of the following Sonic girls who you think is the most to least girly. Out of these characters: Amy, Rouge, Sally, Blaze, Julie-Su, Cream, Bunnie, Fiona, Wave and Marine
  16. It's been a very long time since I posted something on the forum, and I really wanted to go back to the community, been kinda off for some time, just doing my stuff without a care in the world... From that time on, a lot of stuff happened... but... I'm posting this on the forum because last time posted it over here I got some heavy criticism, Not that that's a negative thing. In fact, I'd like to see what some people think of my latest abiliites and share their thoughts on my art and help me get better, simple as that. If you have something constructive or would just like to troll me or just ignore me, go ahead. It's more of a "asking for criticism because I got nowhere else to go but don't wanna be rude to the community for having no place else to take honest criticism" kinda thing. I'm pretty sure a lot of you know of my art and that's great... so... As usual... Enjoy 😃

  19. Reposted here, I'm currently in the process of rewriting the fan fiction as a script or the first issue, to turn it into a fan comic, so I'm looking for fan artists to join me and draw parts of it, and perhaps more fan writers to co-plot the script, it would be a great project to celebrate Sonic's 30th anniversary as well, so contact me only if you are interested in the plot idea and taking active part in it. A cool "what if" story concept that explores the ideas set up in the Reboot Archie comic. Right now I'm planning a 6 issues short mini-series (or fan fiction if no one is interested) with potential for more season ideas, and includes the concept for redesigning the protagonists. If you want to hear more about the story and details, contact me because there is a lot more. Otherwise, express your opinions on what format I should turn this story into. I'd like it to be told as visual storytelling, rather than fan fiction. I'm aware there isn't much else to showcase at the moment, I'm just asking for help for this cool project, to make it actually happen in a larger way, and hopefully I'll have something more in the future (pun intended).
  20. Hey All and welcome. I'm new to Sonic Stadium but I've been a Sonic fan since 2004. Again, I'm new to this forum so I must apologize beforehand if I'm violating any rules or terms of this forum. Over the years I've dedicated my time to collecting all the comics in 1 big Digital Collection, since trying to get them all physically in mint condition is nearly impossible. I've managed to rack up quite a collection, and now that it's gotten relatively big I want to be able to share it with everyone so all can have a chance to read the wonderful comic history of the blue blur. It's a shared Folder on my Google Drive that everyone has access to and I update it weekly with new issues that I find. As of right now there's around 25+ Series in it, but I've still got a ways to go. I have miniseries, specials, game tie-ins, digests, the new IDW series, etc. The comics are in .cbr & .cbz format, which can be read by any comic book app. you just need WinZip or RAR to open the zip files that contain the bigger collections of comics. I have a Group Chat on Instagram so I can message everyone at the same time when I add new comics to the collection. My instagram is [removed -staff] so if anyone's interested and or never got to read all the comics then be all means join me on instagram, or share your email and I'll grant ya access
  21. Hello! It's no secret that I love comicbooks and movies and Comicbook movies. It's played a huge part in my life writing wise and story telling wise. So, let me ask you a question. Can a Wonder Woman movie work? People have said for years that a Wonder Woman movie would be to difficult (Diane Nelson) to boring (Joss Whedon) or to odd (Christopher Nolan) to make. All these arguments would hold up if not for this little gem This is a Full Length animated Wonder Woman movie that DC made in 2009, and, ya know what? It's really good! So why can't DC make a live action Wonder Woman Movie if they have shown that they can make a pretty good animated movie? Now don't get me wrong, I know that making movies is hard, believe me I know, especially animated movies. But why is Wonder Woman that only one in the Trinity to not get her own movie?! Superman has had 6 movies Batman has had 9 So why can't Wonder Woman be in that mix? Well, I think it's because DC comics tends to hold characters they know will make money really close. Also, everything except Wonder Woman at DC comics is Batman. That dark and gritty tone of "My parents are deeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaad" Over dramatic BS that batman is all about. DC seems to think that is the reason we buy their comics or watch their movies. But the reason we watch Batman is because he's a nice change of tone from the bright world of DC comics. I'm getting off track. I think DC is afraid that if they made a Wonder Woman movie, no one would see it. And that's the truth, DC (Really every studio) is afraid that if they make a movie about an empowered woman, than audiences will shoot that movie down. I don't think that's the case, I think that the world is ready for a Wonder Woman movie. What about you? Would you watch a Wonder Woman Movie? Do you think it would work? What do you think a WW movie needs to be successful? What I think a Wonder Woman movie needs to be successful. 1. NO JOSS WHEDON! Seriously, NO! STOP! NO MORE! HE DOES NOT READ COMICS! He is lame! The only good think he's ever made was Firefly, and the rest was with his Brother Zach who I think has real talent. No Joss Whedon! 2. Keep Christopher Nolan away from this film as much as humanly possible! He only understands and likes Batman. Wonder Woman is not Batman! 3. Get someone who gives a shit about Wonder Woman. Like Gail Simone, or that woman who wrote the animated movie! 4. Please put some pants on her. DC, it's not 1946 you don't have to worry about men coming to your movies because of sex appeal. Pants! Or at least a longer battle skirt. 5. remember that SHE IS NOT BATMAN! She's not OK? OK?! She's not Batman... 6. Make it be fun! DC needs some fun in their movies! Like the Reeve Superman movies. Fun! F-U-N FUN! and finally 7. Don't let Feminazis write the script... Please... Don't let them... they will ruin her... and also, Feminazis aren't fun to work with... Just trust me on this...
  22. Rob O' is my favourite character ever. Do you think we will ever see him again?

  25. Hey all, For many months now, I have been hard at work restoring an old website that some of us used to use long ago. Many of you may be familiar with the acronym MFZ, which stood for "The Mystical Forest Zone." For many Sonic creators, this place represented a creative place that held all sorts of comics and sprites. I for one used to use this site all the time for my personal projects. As of 2014, the site no longer exists with no way to access their archives except through the wayback machine. You no longer have to wait hours just to access your favorite sprites. I have now finished a complete restoration of their archive, including additions being made by our members to continue where it left off. There are plans for having a convenient uploading tool to easily add new sheets, but until I finish that part, all creators are welcome to join our small community in the forums or in our Discord. We are currently accepting new sheets to the collection, as well as encouraging anyone who wants to start their own sprite projects. I thought some of you might want to enjoy this resource for yourselves, and hope for old time sonic spriters that this will bring a bit of nostalgia for you. Sprite Archive: https://sgxp.me/sprites.php Discord: https://discord.gg/jxxTjzJ Edit: We now have a subreddit!: https://www.reddit.com/r/SGXP/
