    Gravity

GRAVITY, directed by Oscar ® nominee Alfonso Cuaron, stars Oscar ® winners Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in a heart-pounding thriller that pulls you into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space. Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney). But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiTiKOy59o4&list=PLVfin74Qx3tV-zzYGwPjTnVL-w_yKsrI5&index=2 ~*~ Who would've thought a 90-minute film about two people falling would be so awesome? Indeed, that's pretty much it, but for such a simple premise you are basically getting some of the wildest cinematography in a blockbuster. If anyone ever saw Cuaron's Children of Men and remembers the long, unending shots (graphic warning), take those, throw them into outer space, but with tracking between long views of the disaster and right into the astronauts' suits as they're spinning around uncontrollably. It's totally disorienting. Then throw in some surprisingly accurate physics, most notably the simple lack of sound that occurs during collisions in space, and you have a recipe for complete dread, unrelenting tension, and absolute terror. You know, it's fun for the whole family! So yes, if you haven't seen it, please do. I realize every game under the sun is coming out soon, but please spare some time for this treat. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
