  1. Hello everyone! This thread is for posting and discussing episodes of my new Sonic replay/rewatch/reread podcast, Deep Dive Zone! Youtube Twitter Old (outdated) concepts/ideas post:
  2. So of course, the Sonic the Hedgehog movies have been doing pretty well with the audience and at the box office. So, I wanted to ask you guys about why you think that the Sonic the Hedgehog movies are doing much better than most of the other video game movies? For me, I think that the Sonic the Hedgehog movies are doing better than most of the other video game movies because they actually took the time to focus on developing the characters. One of the biggest issues that I've seen with many video game movies (with the exception of Detective Pikachu) is that they just throw the characters into an adventure without really explaining to the audience about where these characters came from or what their motives are throughout the movie. Just because Sonic the Hedgehog is a popular franchise, it doesn't mean that everyone has played the games. If movie goers went into a Sonic movie with no knowledge of the franchise, then they would be very confused about what is going on in the movie or they wouldn't really care about the characters because the movies failed to develop the characters in a way that the audience would start connecting with the characters.
  3. So, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has finally come out and I was wondering about which movie do you like better: the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie or Sonic the Hedgehog 2? For me, I think I liked Sonic the Hedgehog 2 a bit better than the first movie. While the first movie had better character developments between Tom and Sonic, the second movie was much more action packed and had more personal stakes for Sonic. And I thought that the moments between Sonic and Knuckles and Sonic and Tails were the strongest points of the film.
  4. So, how much control do you think that fans should have over TV shows or movies? I wanted to ask this question because I saw this article on Screen Rant about how it can be problematic if fans have too much control in regard to the movies and TV shows. For me personally, I do see some positives and negatives to this. In the positives, fans are able to get exactly what they want without worrying about the movies and TV shows straying too far from the source material. Also, the movies could have the potential to do well in theaters if the fans enjoyed the movies. However, in the negatives, this could cause the fans to take over the movies and TV shows and not allow the people making the movies to create their own visions of the properties. Also, making movies and TV shows is not cheap and can cause the studios to go down under if they spent too much money on making the fan demands. Like for example, while I liked the fact that Paramount listened to the fans to change Sonic's design in the first movie, it did cause the studio that animated Sonic to go down under since it was quite expensive to make those changes.
  5. She will voice Tails in the movie after all! At this point I need Roger and Mike to cameo somehow, I don't want just Colleen though.
