  1. Hi all! I'm just starting this topic up because it's one that I enjoy a lot but haven't really seen discussed. When an event called Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) 2013 was brought to my attention, it got me hooked on watching speedruns of all kinds. Of course, among my favorite speedrunners are those who involve themselves with Sonic the Hedgehog games; runners like werster, DarkspineSonic, Paraxade, and bertin. Have any of you checked out any of these runs? Werster's Sonic 3 and Knuckles run with Mike89 and Paraxade or Darkspinesonic's Sonic '06 runs are especially entertaining to me. Let me know what you think!
  2. It's that time of the year again! Time the Sonic Amateur Games Expo, or SAGE for short. This year's event is unique in that it's being separated into two different 'acts', this first one currently ongoing here! Now, as already posted by Symbotic in the TSS News section (http://www.sonicstadium.org/2014/02/sage2014/), it's running from today, the 23rd of February, till the 1st of March, and has a lovely bunch of titles present, all of which I'd recommend you pop on and check out, such as Sonic Time Twisted, Project Eclipse, and Sonic Game Land, to name but a few (Also non-Sonic titles!). These events always bring a smile to my face, and make me happy that we have such talented programmers and game designers in our midst. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tVzyVkAf_A8 Be sure to check out the site, play some of the games, and give feedback to the developers that have worked so hard to produce something playable in time for SAGE! NOT A PHYSICAL EXPO IN A CONVENTION CENTER. In case you were wondering...
  3. During the late 1990's-2000's German companies Phoenix games and Dingo Pictures stole the stories from famous childrens animated films (e.g. Anastasia, 101 Dalmations) and turned them into some of the worst animations ever to grace the earth, before turning them into PS1 games to sell to the public. How bad are these animations? well on the terrible scale I'd sell whoever created this is the Tommy Wiseau of animation (minus the whole narcissm thing he had going on) Don't believe me just take a look at this This is ripping off Disney's 101 Dalmatians, so bad it is hilarious. My parents actually bought this game for me (well it is a game as it includes some puzzles and stuff, basic stuff you would find in the extras on a Disney DVD) and for some reason I liked it (I was a weird child) Does anyone else have memories of these horrible games?
  4. After doing some searching I couldn't find a topic talking about obscure or lesser known video game soundtracks so I decided to make my own. Sometimes soundtracks are overlooked because the games they are from didn't get international releases, weren't well known or advertised, or other aspects of the game were so bad that no one payed attention to the music. This topic is where we can share some of our favorite songs and soundtracks that are overlooked compared to more famous series like Sonic, Mario, or Halo. I'll start this topic off with one of my personal favorites that I have never seen in a Gamestop or in any sort of store. This soundtrack was created by Naofumi Hataya and Tomoya Othani. It features some fantastic orchestral and techno styled tracks. I like Rhythm games for their music since if I'm not a big fan of the soundtrack then I don't want to work through the minigames to do extra stuff, and this game is my personal favorite rhythm game and has one of my favorite soundtracks to boot. These are just a few of my favorite songs from the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0QVhhT-vqE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOSxE6dIjIk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjLCm-jtN68 What are some soundtracks or songs from games that you feel are overlooked compared to the bigger more hyped up titles?
  5. (Thanks to Pelly for the name. ='D) We've seemed to have an abundance of news stories involving the moronic actions of people who don't think or have problems or depressing topics about bad shit happening and things making the headlines and bloated by their shocking content. Meh, shit happens. But some of this is very... Disturbing. As a good friend of mine says she firmly believes 70% of people are morons and the other 30% just have to deal with the morons. Just in the last week of this topic we've had 4th grader suicides (and doctors blaming it on video games), teenage girls cooking a cat in the oven, a mom making her son kill a hamster with a hammer for bad grades, and a man raping his neighbors dog. Now this topic will either be very successful or be locked on the spot, but I was thinking instead of overflowing Chit-Chat with multiple topics of varying depression it might be best if we had a "What Bad Things Are Happening in Our World" type of thread. A place where all the stupidity, shocking, "loosing faith in mankind", and revolting stories that happen on some off days can be posted and discussed. Some stories make us revolt and sickened, and those are the type of stories for this kind of topic. There's not much news today besides some famous activist who hired some guy off the street to kill him and gave him all of his money and belongings he had and then ran into the knife of the hired stranger over and over again resulting in his death. Though human stupidity knows no bounds sometimes, sure something will come up.
  6. So, I thought of making this topic a while ago but never did. I saw that a couple people were working on fan games, so I figured, why not. This isn't much of a game development forum but I know you guys all like games, so for us here who are making them, would probably love to show you! So onto the basics of this thread, rules and such: To people posting projects; you must have a screenshot, video, and or music piece to show! (if it's music it must be apart of the game you're making or the team you're in's game) No requests for help unless you you have something to show and even then keep that to a minimum. When posting screenshots, videos, etc. It must be your own project! Give credit where credit is due and don't post claiming your making a project you're not! If someone gives you negative feedback, don't lash out at them. Think about why they may have those thoughts try to improve. To people posting critique and feedback: It doesn't have to be positive but keep it nice! If something to you feels wrong with a person's game or you encountered a glitch or just something you don't like, don't be afraid to tell them but don't be rude about it. Lets keep a good vibe. Now because you don't like something doesn't mean it's bad and if the creator feels it's not a problem it's not your place to tell them otherwise, even if it's a glitch or bad design. If it's something thats morally wrong or against the rules, please report them, instead of taking it into your own hands. It makes the topic more enjoyable to read. With that out of the way, I guess I should show my project!... Sonic Reboot: First Development Video, Features Knuckles first gameplay: Elemental Shields! Screenshots!

For my part, I will be unable to join in the live stream festivities this year due to full time work commitments, but I will be trying to watch one conference a night most of that week on my TV via the Wii U (hoping against hope that YouTube has all the conferences up, as the system won't play Gametrailers etc videos on its web browser) and I hope to not fall too far behind on the news front too.
