((Okay, this is just a piece I wrote when I got bored, and it's very short. There is a possibility of expansion but this is intended to be stand alone.

I know it's short, but I feel it's better just to leave what happened up to your imagination, it's more fun that way for you guys.

Enjoy))

Things had happened.

Tails glanced down at a horrific sight. The sight of his world, destroyed, ravaged in front of him. A sight no young fox needed to see, a sight no young fox expected to see. His breath was short and his limbs were numb. Bleeding out of wounds that hurt no longer.

A bandage was wrapped around his now-stump of a tail, leaving just one of his tails left that moved freely with the wind. His head hurt and he felt dizzy, the world around the fox was blurry, moving in and out of focus seemingly with the rhythm of his heartbeat which the fox could feel through his own chest, pounding resoundingly through his entire body; he could feel it in his head, he could feel it in his toes.

The fight was over, but what had been won? The world was dead, his friends were dead. His very own hero was dead. It was over, for everyone. This was the end, the end of everything that anyone ever knew or could come to know. It was abrupt and quick but as the fox looked back, each piercing memory that brought sadness to his heart and tears to his eyes was in slowmotion; the moments which killed him inside replayed in vivid visual form, the memories were so real that Tails felt he could still reach out and touch them, and stop it from happening, from unfolding in the horrible way they did.

He saw the way his comrades fell, and now, he was certain, he would see no more; an end to the pain, to the torment; to the horror. The fox screamed out, the voice booming through the empty, polluted air, colliding with and echoing off derelict ruins of what was once a grand city filled with life, love and prosperity, but now was filled with death, hate and dust.

The fox fell to his knees as he lost energy in his legs. His orange fur became brown due to sweat and dirt, matted and messy, bloody patches in certain areas.

He grew weary eyed, his eyes becoming heavy, and breathing became harder.

As the fox closed his eyes and laid face down, sure he would die, he thought of his loved ones and uttered prayers.

This was the end of everything he knew.

Indeed, things had happened.

((Hope you enjoyed it. Possible expansion if this gets good reception. Feel free to discuss what could have possibly happened to lead up to this horrible event.))
