Hmmm I wonder if we are going to get a new demo to play. Doubt it after what happened with the one in June.

Ugh that 3DS gameplay is still not anywhere up to par. The portable games are progressively getting worse and worse on an objective level. Empty levels, completely recycled stage design, stiff movement and animation, collision detection, wonky physics and mechanics (lol sonic wheel legs forming in the air).

The only improvements I notice is that the animation isn't as sub par as Sonic Rush and the sound design is so much better. One thing the Rush games blew at was sound (not the music mind you) but the actual sound effects were poor.

Is that a Special Stage next to Green Hill Act 2?

Wait...there are 11 SPACES?? =\

Also, a 50 second completion time for both Classic and Modern Sonic? Man, the stages are abysmally short!

Is it some kind of DLC, or are they the extra acts?

Also Classic Sonic's isn't that much of a surprise seeing as in the HD version it can be speed ran for the same time or less, I guess the player magically died in their best run. Though Modern is indeed a disappointment

I seriously hope it's short only because it's Green Hill.

Modern Sonic's Mushroom Hill looks to be about 2 Minutes if you don't speedrun.

We've known about Special Stages in the 3DS version for ages now, or are you pointing out that they can be selected from the stage select menu?

Also, what silhouetted stage is that on the right?

They're really making a point of suggesting that it is indeed a character we know.

Hmm... Mephiles? No that I want him to retrun but listen.

Crisis City is in game right? Its probably in some alternative timeline. So Mephiles still exist in that timeline. Solaris can travell between timelines. Maybe that Crisis City timeline is the one that was completly destroyed by Solaris (and it killed everyone there including Silver) and now it moved to next timeline.

Yeah it wont happen.

I dont know how much I will hate them if its Modern Metal Sonic. This will overuse him.

You know, it's a pity that they already revisited Metal Sonic in Heroes. If they hadn't he could have been the mysterious villain, back after a long hiatus, trying to change the past (via the time stones from CD perhaps?) so that he is the only 'Sonic' alive in the future. Knuckles would fill in for rival in the Classic era so Metal, drunk on the power of the Chaos Emeralds, was free to fill the role as final boss (but in a form more akin to the red one from Chaotix). He could have created a bad future, in the form of Stardust Speedway (along with their race), for a final level following the Modern Era. It would have been a nice way to get some good character development out of him too.

But yeah. Not happening. =P

Oh gawd, I hope they will proceed like in SA2 with the bosses, in a time attack mode for one of those dots on the screen:

Classic Sonic Only

Modern Sonic Only

Both Sonic Together

So my guess goes like this:

7 dots for 7 normal stage with their special stage

1 for time attack bosses like I mentioned

1 for final boss that you probably have to unlock

1 for all special stage in time attack

Last one... PROFIT... no I don't know what it'll be but maybe, just maybe it could be a mini chao garden?

I'll wait for more content to show up, just to be sure.

Or it's 7 for normal stages and special stages, 3 for bosses, and 1 for the Time Eater? Seems more reasonable.

There's no indication (other than Metal Sonic being on the 3DS Japanese page, but both pages are the same in that respect anyway) that Rival battles are in the game, but if they are, there could just be an era-boss HUB (both bosses on one deal) thrice. Or the Metal vs. Sonic at Casino Night was really from a 2-player mode. We'll see.
