Make your own Sonic Stage

Johnny Boy

Recommended Posts

Title says all. Create your own sonic stage. Explain what trope it belongs in, Tell what Features each act has, the enemies that lurk around the stage, the type of music that you think will play in the stage, and the boss.

I'll start off.

Name: Holiday Kingdom

Trope: Winter/Ice

Act 1: Act 1 starts out in a snowy valley. It has some icy lakes sonic can run across by boosting. But if you don't have enough momentum, sonic will fall through the ice and into the lake, and then you will have to get out from under the water before you drown. it's a peaceful place overall, but there are some egg pawns who will hit you with shovels if you get to close.

Act 2: Act 2 is a snowy neighborhood populated by gingerbread men living in houses made of gingerbread, gummy bears, and fruitcake. There are huge Christmas trees that grow gumdrops on them. There are also candy cane rails that sonic can grind upon. Near the end of the act. Sonic gets chased by a giant toy train on it's way to the royal parts of the kingdom. The enemies are the Egg Pawns from the previous level and some new enemies are the ice orbinaut and a walking present that explodes.

Act 3: Act 3 begins with sonic running through a large courtyard with giant colorful ornaments hanging overhead. Sonic will then run through huge golden gates, and jump off a ramp. As he falls towards the kingdom grounds, you will see two giant Teddy bears holding up a large welcome sign. As soon as sonic lands on the ground he will start to run through a giant toy factory. He will see giant versions and small versions of famous toys on the conveyer belts such as Teddy bears, Dolls, Radio control cars, and action figures. During the Toy factory parts, sonic is able to grind along small, empty conveyer belts. As he exits the toy factory, sonic will then run through across a bridge of cookies and to the side of him is the giant train that chased him in the previous act, only this time it doesn't pose a threat. When the train passes under a bridge, sonic will then run pass a choir of gospel singing snowmen. At the end of the act, the goal ring is located at the heart of the kingdom, right outside a huge castle of ice with two giant candy canes beside each of the castles huge doors. The enemies are robotic red nosed reindeer that shoot lasers from their noses, Evil giant nutcrackers, and egg pawns dressed as elves.

Music:

Act 1: a fast paced version of winter wonderland

Act 2: a remix of Holoska

Act 3: a fast paced instrumental version of "It's the most wonderful time of the year"

Boss: Egg Snowman

Now go and make up your own stage!

Name: Zooland

Trope: Amuesment park/Savannah/Jungle/Underwater

Act 1: sonic runs under a huge glowing welcome sign then enters a jungle like area. This area of the zoo is similar to past jungle levels such as Green Forest, Lost Jungle, and Tropical Jungle. The animals you will see in the back ground are a troop of Gorillas making their way through the jungle, leopards sleeping in the trees, tigers eating their meat, and lemurs swinging on vines. You can also see visitors to the zoo in the background taking pictures of the animals and you as you blast through the jungle at high speeds. The giant jungle exhibit also has some large artificial ruins. The enemies of this level are coconuts, buzz bomber, newtron, Slicer, and Egg Pawns that look like tribesmen who will jab at sonic with their spears if he gets to close.

Act 2: Act 2 is a huge savannah like level. The level starts off with sonic running from a stampede of wildebeests. When sonic eventually escapes from the stampede, he then comes across a large river where a herd of hippos are resting. Sonic can bounce on the hippos like springs to avoid going underwater, but if he does go underwater there will be some crocodile badniks waiting for him. During the river section, you can see Elephants and zebras drinking water. When sonic gets past the river section, he will then get to the plains section of the level. There he will be able to briefly grind on the necks of Giraffes and see lions on rocks roaring in the background. The enemies in this level are crocodile badniks, motobugs, and egg pawns dressed as safari tour guides who will attack sonic with whips if he gets close.

Act 3: Act 3 Is a giant marine park. The level starts off with sonic going down a large water slide and into the enormous fish tank. There sonic will then get chased by a giant great white shark. After he escapes the shark, he will then have to run through an underwater paradise, with coral reef loops, tourist blasting through underwater slides in the background, and docile sea turtles that will help you to the surface, but be careful! Jawz, Jaws, Aquis, and Asteron will try and do everything in their power to make things miserable for you beneath the surface.

On the surface you will see dolphins jumping out of the water in the background. There are golden platforms of the surface that have egg pawns dressed as whale trainers you see at sea world. They will slap sonic with giant fish if he gets close. There is also a large palace in the back ground with a beach, but it is actually a water park for tourists.

In the final part of the level, sonic has to go underwater yet again, but then he gets chased by a pod of orcas. But when sonic gets to the end of his running path, one of the orcas flings him over a wall with it's tail. Sonic then lands straight onto a goal ring in the middle of a stadium filled with cheering people. During the results screen, the orcas that chased sonic will slide onto the podium with sonic and strike a pose.

Boss: Egg Lion. Similar to the egg Cerberus boss.

Music:

Act 1: A remix of aquatic ruins

Act 2: Waka Waka by Shakira

Act 3: The Child inside by Qkumba Zoo

Some of the replies here are useless and not what this topic is about. You should actually put effort into your posts by describing ideas in detail rather than "humorous" one-liners or graphic-only posts. If people keep posting this way I'm going to lock this.

I don't have a big write-up for it, but I'd like to see a haunted forest. Y'know, kind of dark, foggy, with scraggly trees...

In Sonic Advance, there's a stage which is a rocket where you climb upwards. I would love something like this in a 3D Sonic game. You start at the base of the rocket and climb upwards. As you go, the rocket gets launched and towards the end you will up in space. As it's launching, rocket parts are dropped just like a regular rocket (I think that happens in a rocket, correct me if I'm wrong) The first act would be the bottom half of the rocket, and the second act would be the top half of the rocket.

The boss act would take place on a moon base.

I'd like a stage that has Sonic going across the Solar System, with the boss being the Egg-Sun

I'd like a giant musical city, with neon lights on a sparkling backdrop of mountains with a starry sky in the night. Sonic grinds on guitar strings, runs along piano steps, bounces on percussion instruments and fights badniks that are either modeled after music instruments or egg pawns that look like they're part of a rock band. Similar to Music Plant, but instead of just trombones and xylophones, make it more rock-oriented. Kind of like what Casino Night did for the casino, I want this level to be the reinterpretation of Hard Rock Cafe.

I'd call it Rythm City.

I wonder if Dimps would be willing to go this far if they decide to revamp music plant

Name: Emerald Acres

Trope: Urban

Boss: Egg Pitbull

We have always seen city stages when it comes to the urban theme. But I wanted to try something new with the urban trope, such as a neighborhood. And that's exactly what Emerald acres is.

Act 1: Act 1 features a lot of one story houses.

The enemies are egg pawns with pitchforks, motobugs, and buzz bombers.

Act 2: Act 2 features a lot of bigger and nicer looking houses.

This part of the neighborhood is covered in a forest area. Here sonic can grind on tree branches, and use the local pools as underwater sections. The enemies are egg pawns, robotic dogs and choppers that jump out of the pools.

Act 3: Act 3 is the rich part of the neighborhood and this is evidenced by the fact that there are a lot of Mansions around. Sonic can use the ponds here as underwater sections. The enemies are the same ones from the previous acts. But the new enemies are self driving exotic cars with plasma cannons attached to them.

Name: Defcon High

Trope: Nuke 'Em

Setting: Beginning at a vast launch site, it eventually sees you jumping and running amidst tens of thousands of in-flight ICBMs. You gotta blow that shit up before it blows you and some poor third world country up instead.

Well, probably more of a Shadow stage than a Sonic one.

Purple Clouds-

Basically a stage where you run on top of the clouds nonstop, and if you do, you fall through and die. Its afternoon, and the sky is orange and purple. You basically dodge all the upcoming obstacles, birds, planes, balloons, and in some cases you use use balloons as a way of getting across obstacles. And you also have to dodge missles shooting from the ground (Clouds.)

The theme of my level would ultimately be irrelevant to my primary idea: I want each level layered with different environments depending upon the theme, each with different obstacles and spacial constraints depending on where you found yourself at the time.

For illustrations' sake, I'll take a city. The lowest floor wouldn't be the street, but rather the sewer system. Tons of water to deal with, small halls, downhills, and confusing pathways and corners to take advantage of hidden collectibles. Next, streets would be really wide-open but full of traffic to dodge or run along, (imagine running on and through a New York traffic jam), and one would come across parks or even slummy and construction areas to take fuller advantage of any acrobatic and Parkour skills. Further up would be buildings' middle and upper floors. Sonic would be able to crash through glass and run through offices, and falling from here would only return you to the street. Same with the rooftops of the tallest skyscrapers which would be an Empire City affair, clouds and all.

Relix Speedway. A highway that extends into the sky and through mass amounts of clouds, using solid mesh of brick, cobblestone and cloud to make the roadways. These roads blend into Aztec-based temples that are set up as the stop-and-go points where the more platforming and puzzle based scenes happen. The weather changes in the sky, thus causing strong winds to knock you off course, as well as a lightning-storm-projecting boss that takes place among swirling ruins inside the center of a massive tornado.

Alpine Eruption. Running away from your standard beginning stage, Sonic starts to make it more into the fields of the tundra, heading further north. As you enter these higher areas, you come across a wintery set of mountains, where you get to look upon the beautiful auroras that lighten the sky as the sun begins to set... until you realize that these snowy and icy wonderlands are partially connected to vessels of magma that flow through and under each landmass. A chain of volcanic activity starts to occur after Eggbotnik tampers with the environment, thus causing seepage of this lava across the landscape. Your efforts must consist of running, spinning, sliding and boarding down this treacherous terrain.

Blossom Springs. After exiting the mountainsides, you're entering a more Japanese-esque setting: cherry blossom trees all over the parks and beside the large, culture-laden buildings and huts, coy ponds, banzai trees, hot springs... very hot springs may I add. Such hot springs that they now consist of geysers and strong currents flowing through the waters, which have been overflowing and consuming much of the land by this point. Could possibly have to do with the volcanic chainreaction from nearby? Most likely. Anyways, the stage will consist of skipping across water with your spin attack, bopping off the top of floating lanterns, running across arched boardwalks, and submerging yourself into the springs and ponds where you will ride through the currents and propel yourself via fuming geysers.

--

I'll list more later. Anyways, those are some examples of stages that are gonna be in Freerunner [/shamelessplug].

Sap Village Zone. This my theorized home for Sonic, where all his animals and the younger, smaller animal friends that Sonic has rescued over the years, along with his other friends. One can say that Tails actually developed the surrounding forest to design the Emerald Town, the current residence of the famous duo. Because of that, you'll see a helluva lot more anthropes--some generic, and some new characters will appear here as well!

And yes, this needs a hub world badly.

Sonic Unleashed gameplay.

Mushroom Kingdom Zone

Act 1: Sonic starts on a linear path, with hills in the background. It's kind of like that: http://s3.noelshack.com/old/up/sonicmario-4ae185ac29.png (but with longer speed sequences and longer platforming sequences - and with rings and ennemies, obviously).

Act 2: Similar to Act 1, but it's mostly set underground and the aboveground is like the Mushroomy Kingdom in SSBB.

Boss: Bowser Jr. in the Koopa Clown Car. It's around and over a lake, so you need Rings to keep boosting over water. You must send back the Clown Car's bullets and you can throw Cheep-Cheeps at the Clown Car during the water section (all this by boosting, obviously).

Sorry, I can't describe things well.
