its 18 minutes long? oh yeah, its up.

 

my thoughts as I watch:

 

first four minutes:

• intro was alright, a little too bland though. Emeralds come out of the ring?

• MOBIUS!? Argh. Ok... we're on "Mobius". Jesus... do your research fan film people.

• 3 mins in and little more than live action + decent CD models. no real substance yet.

• Bushnell? Oh, I get it... "Mobian", "Kintober"... sorry, I'm really not a fan of this Fleetway/SatAM stuff.

• Little stache, Eggman is way too toned down.

The movie is called Sonic, yet I'm at 15 min into it... and I think Sonic has been in the film for about 2 min. And most of that time was him...

That was so awful. I mean, yes I get that they put hard work into it blah blah blah, but was it really worth it? No. It was not.

It's always a beautiful sight when a fandom comes together and rip the shit out of a collaborative and hard worked fan film made by a guy who loves the series dearly to make a film in the first place.

Sorry, but they're putting their work out there to be viewed by fans, and fans are going to be critical. Personally, I saw some promise in the Egg Carrier model, as well as the badniks and E100 bots. But the rest was really bad, and no I don't mean bad in terms of the effort put into the production, but how misplaced it was. The tone was wrong, the acting was B-level, the story was an odd mish-mash of games/fleetway/SatAM. The writing was poor, how many times was the term "blue blur" used?

 

But the worst offender? Sonic himself. He hardly features, and when he does the CG is just awful (in terms of how they're represented the character) and the dialogue is just a string of catchphrases. 

 

And then that ending... Knuckles with fingers. How could it get worse? Knuckles with fingers.

That was the best episode of G.U.N Teenagers I have ever seen, I hope the next episode actually has Sonic in it.

I'll watch it in about an hour... I thought the trailers were terrible. Is the movie itself really that bad? Should I even bother watching it?
