About a month ago, there was a fake tweet posted on the Kevin Butler twitter account that he had quit Sony to set up his own company.

This turned out to be fake and part of a new advertising campaign. This video was put out to mark the start of it.

Project L.L.P. "Long Live Play" A pretty cool advert, quite funny, but there wasn't really much to get excited about.

It just looked like the start of some kind of new advertising campaign.

Today... this video was posted.

It just ends with the date October 5th 2011. Thats a wednesday, usually the PS Store fully updates in both Europe and America by wednesday.

On the official playstation youtube channel it says "join the gathering" and the date October 5th 2011.

If you watch the video closely, you can see a lot of references to various videogames.

Resistance: Soliders and some weapons on the wall

Twisted Metal: Sweetooth van before the soldiers walk into the inn

Parappa the Rappa: Calender just to the side of the woman

Wipeout: Calender just to the side of the woman.

Ratchet and Clank: Ratchets wrench on the wall

MGS4: MK2 behind the dogs. (it quickly moves out of sight when the soliders walk into the inn)

Killzone: Weapons on the wall

Little BIg planet: blue orb in the dish

Playstation Network: PSN symbol can be seen at the top of the desk

Final Fantasy 13: Lighting's sword can be scene on the weapon wall. Its the very first one.

Not spotted any others, but there might be another clue above the door that the soldiers enter, only I can't quite make it out.

So then... October 5th 2011. Something is aparently going to be happening.

There's what faintly looks like a woman's head behind the date thing at the end.

Can't wait to see what this is all about.

WHOA! Well spotted shadz!

Lookingly closely, it looks oddly like infected Hale from resistance 2.

Has the relaunch of PlayStation Home with those new things they were talking about a few weeks or so back happened yet? Maybe that's what this is about?

Not yet no.

Whilst it is probably Home, it is odd how theres multi format title references in it and not Sony exclusives.

Also another one spotted. When the soldiers are running through the woods, you can see the eyes of the Chimera watching the soldiers through the trees.

It could be that they're adding more spaces to Home based around first and third party franchises.

Hmm... Most of the games reference series have been made on PSP... Could this mean that on the 5th of October we get a announcement of the games being remade on PS3 with the PSP remaster engine?

2) cross game chat.

Sony already said a couple of weeks back that cross game chat isn't possible on PS3, as it doesn't have enough RAM.

What a charming advert. I like the Nathan Drake actor, even though they've got the real VA's dubbing them.

The third party characters made this feel like a little less of a PS3 ad and more of an ad for gaming as a whole, but perhaps that was their intent. It at least served to have a bit more impact.

Theres a lot of things I like about that advert... but especially the following.

1: Nathan Drake trying to chat up Lightning.

2: Chell randomly portling in through the back wall.

3: Sackboy playing chess... why does this seem so right in every way?

Watching it over and over again I keep spotting more characters, just noticed Ratchet near the end.
