Could anyone who has read that review summarise it? From the looks of it it's not so much a review as it is a detailed analysis of the game. They go into detail about every stage? I've played the game already. I don't need to read that.

The 3DS version did start development a lot later then its HD counterpart. I'm surprised it's not worse then it is.

Why do people keep saying this? We don't know when work on the 3DS version started. I've seen interviews that say development on the console version started about 3 years ago, but I've not seen any word on the 3DS version's development.

EDIT:

I know software dev kits for the 3DS probably wouldn't have been around about 3 years ago, but we've publically known it was in development since E3 last year when Sonic showed up with Super Monkey Ball on that leaked list of games in development for the 3DS. I'd say it had to be in development for a long while before then.

If I remember, the original Nintendo Power screenshots were even worse. Take with with a grain of salt due to translating pictures into print, but they were even worse than the E3 demo.

I agree with pretty much all of it. Also, nice to see yet another reviewer saying that the other characters should be playable (while playing similar to Sonic) again.

I think I love them. For those who don't whip open the full review, they say that in the context of Classic and Modern Sonic playing differently. Specifically that once you get past the Classic Era the two gameplay styles lose their uniqueness and become too similar. Classic's level design is much more basic and uninteresting form EC onwards and he's given a homing attack to make him play more like Modern.

They both do seem like heavy classic purists, though. They directly stated Eggman was the Doctor's wrong name and bashed Sonic Team for calling him it.
