Its just Los Santos looks so small I just hope all that open terrain isn't wasted. I sure its really detailed the Countryside but Los Santos it looks smaller than GTA IV Liberty City Islands combined.

I bet Rockstar aren't happy with these leaks they might have to lay a smackdown.

I don't mind the map being smaller than I expected as long as the terrain is used well. Just having a large map doesn't make it interesting ( Just Cause 2 for example had a massive map but nothing to do in it. That and it was cumbersome more than anything.)

I'm quite happy with it, to be honest. Granted, I had hoped that the city was bigger, but I'm more of a countryside guy, so I'm content with the huge expanse of forests, deserts and mountains.

GTA IV was just one big city. Here, we're getting a lot of other location styles.

Well if it's bigger then San Andreas and (according to Cake) that takes roughly 10-15 mins to get across at a minimum (I assume that's using a really fast plane), I can deal with that.

I'm still not entirely sure, but it did take about 20 minutes or so to get across the map in a car.

Now according to someone on /v/, this is the actual scale of V's map.

There's also this, but I'm not sure if this is correct.

That definitely doesn't look like the size of Liberty City/Alderney, unless they broadened the streets and GTA IV's map was more tightly packed than Los Santos. I'm slightly disappointed but I cannot deny the city still looks hella big when you look at it in pictures and trailers.

You guys know Lazlow? He's the one that's been in every major GTA game's radio shows and also helps write them. Well I just found out that he's co-hosting on BBC Radio 1 right now! (British radio station, btw).

It's almost over now, but it's pretty cool to see him on there. I think I remember reading somewhere that he was doing radio shows in some places across the world to raise awareness about GTA V.

I think its worth mentioning that Lazlow will be on Peter Donaldson's show on Absolute Radio, 8pm-10pm BST this Sunday called Lazlow's Absolute Radio Takeover.

I don't know if someone already posted this but i don't care, Rockstar has released an official map of Los Santos.

Everyone already know this but los santos is bigger than RDR, GTA IV, and San Andreas combined.

Yeah, I posted that earlier. The zoomed areas really show off a sense of scale here, the map sure is big! I've seen a lot of complaints that the vast countryside is going to be barren, but I have faith that Rockstar has put good detail in those areas.

Just thinking about going on a cross country drive across the game is making me tingly...

It was posted on page 23. Actually its supposed to be the entire open world area that's as big as San Andreas, GTA IV and RDRedemption combined, not just Los Santos.

Is the city area as big as GTA 4's map? Because that would be rad: a city that big along with all the other terrain.

Sure but I won't have the hotrod due to not being able to afford the Collector's Edition twice.

Don't leave me out lol. Have me tag along as an escort vehicle, or backup transport like in Top Gear.

@Collins Ah.

Oh well I'm sure the in-game car pimping system (yes that's what I'm calling it) can create a suitable replacement.
