So apparently there are red star rings in the sol dimension as well, possible hint towards a new game?

That's just clutching at straws. The Red Rings are a gameplay mechanic, and I expect they're going to be in plenty of games from here on out.

Blaze (Classic):

S Rank: You got an S Rank? I can't help but think of our old adventures together.

.

Wait... she says that to Classic Sonic? So the Sonic in Rush is Classic Sonic? blink.png I don't get it.

Probably just another instance of the game-spanning running gag that the secondary characters don't realise that Classic Sonic isn't the same Sonic they know.

Most of the characters think that Classic/Modern are the same and well... they are :P

Nobody seems to recognise them as two separate entities. Heck, even Sonic doesn't. At the mirror scene neither one of them noticed anything odd. Amy mentions that Sonic looks younger, Knuckles says he's put on weight and Blaze says his spikes are looking shorter. That's it's though. For all intents and purposes, they're the same character.

Yep their the same person, doesn't matter what style they been drawn in, how tall they look, eye color, the era or whatever. Pretty much something that wackjob fanboys/girls need to get over.

I'm gonna go ahead and act like the Crisis City comment is just there as a 4th wall breaking comment.

It doesn't make sense otherwise.

lol, same here dude. that sounded like Forth Wall breaking, or of course, just simply a nod to that game in general. Characters in these games are known for breaking the forth wall, especially sonic and Eggman. Can't be helped sometimes

im dealing with huge ghosting/blur while playing the game, it feels really unconfortable to the eyes, and im not sure its the monitor (its refreshing at 75hz, tried with 60 at first). Vertical Sync doesnt change anything about it (and it shouldnt). If you stop by the shelf/cart and keep walking slowly from one side to the other you will notice that you cant see the things properly there, everything is blurred, Id like to know if its a PC thing or it happens on consoles aswell. And how the hell to to stop it, its disgusting.

One thing I find odd is that, in the strategy guide, not only do they acknowledge Chaotix (which I thought had been officially retconned to have never happened now?), but also say that Sonic first met Charmy back during the events of said game.

You know, that game that Sonic only briefly cameod in during the credits. mellow.png

I'm assuming it's just a mistake on the guide writer's part. Kind of like how it says Cream debuted in Sonic CD. laugh.png

Protup; The guide is useless for continuity info. What the bios in there are, are the writers of the guide doing their own research and interpreting events themselves. To point out some factual errors;

-Cream didn't debut in Sonic CD (the obvious one...how did they miss this one?).

-You can tell the stuff about Charmy meeting Sonic is a bunch of baloney. Why? They refer to Carnival Island, which was in the American manual. Even if Chaotix could be canon, it'd be almost certainly the Japanese manual's interpretation that would be used since the American one fucks things up big time.

-They count Shadow the Hedgehog [game] as being a title outside the Sonic universe.

-Eggman's robots aren't typically known as Egg Robos at all, that's just one[/two] specific Badnik.

-I would say the mixing up of the backgrounds for Blaze is one (ie being a princess guardian of the Sol Emeralds, but teased as a child for her powers), but that one could be canon. :/

-Vector's called the 'self-appointed "head honcho"' here, whereas any other bio straight out calls him the head honcho (ie he officially IS the leader, not just calling himself that).

Now, granted, the bios could have certainly been a lot worse than they were and are overall rather well done, and the actual game walkthrough part is solid bless them, but still.

Here's something really interesting. If you talk to Blaze after doing her mission in Modern Crisis City she has this to say:

"I never thought I'd find myself in Crisis City again. The world sure is full of surprises."

Which is one heck of a line because it means 1) that she is the Blaze seen in Sonic 06, and 2) she remembers the erased time period. Meanwhile, her profile in the gallery room gives her Sonic Rush origin. It's the first time I've seen a game that references BOTH of Blaze's origins.

Maybe that theory about her going to the other dimension at the end of Sonic 06 aint' so far-fetched after all. Did the creators ever give an answer on that one?

We've just been discussing that =P

Then colour me embarrased. I thought I was up to speed on this thread. Evidently not.

EDIT: How did I miss VEDJ-F's gigantic awesome post? Sloppy of me.

Blaze left the future of '06 before it was erased, so she never had her memory wiped of it?

Oh no, not Wild Mass Guessing!

Anyways, a beef I have with the guide. They say Shadow has been known to assist both heroes and villains, when canonically this isn't true. After SA2, Shadow was neutral/heroic in Heroes. Shadow the Hedgehog...gameplay wise you could be evil but he was good in the real story. Shadow was a hero in '06. He's never been a bad guy, except in SA2. His solo game confuses people, I guess.

He worked with Eggman in SA2. It wasn't until he'd had a chat with Amy that he flip-flopped alliances. And besides, he potentially worked with the Black Arms in ShTH and worked with Eggman in the Rivals series.

I said he was a bad guy in SA2, but thanks for the confirmation.

I just think it's become a flanderizing element of his character, like "losing his memory". He's mostly a heroic character. Knuckles has helped Eggman more than Shadow has.

Offtopic though, moving on.

Just noticed a really weird mythology gag harking back to Heroes.

In the Casino Park/Bingo Highway pair, leave the Chaotix idle for a while. Amongst their general quotes, Espio's level-exclusive quip is "These lights are blinding..."

Now, go to 'Master of Camouflage' and shine a spotlight on Espio. Look carefully at his animation; he gets momentarily distracted and shies away because the lights have blinded him!

If Blaze remembers Crisis City, then Sonic probably remembers Elise and vice versa... That means that neither Amy nor Blaze are going to win his heart and "Worth a Chance' is a love song about --

Just messing about. tongue.png

Not necessarily. In fact, if I recall correctly, Blaze is probably the only character who WOULD remember Crisis City because she was sent to an alternate dimension before the time reset (Solaris may be transdimensional, but he can still only affect one dimension at a time, otherwise they would've never been able to defeat him).

Which is weird because you'd think she'd also remember Sonic in the Rush games.

I think Sega just doesn't care about clearing up Blaze's backstory.

Speaking of board tricks, one has him doing a trick similar to the one he performs in Riders 2 when he gets and 'X' rank off a ramp. (a frontflip where he momentarily does a pose while upside down)

Never thought of that skydiving pose myself.

Also, I'm pretty sure someone already noticed this, but there's a mission called 'Way Past Fast'. SatAM references ftw.

Maybe Sonic 06 was a prequel to Sonic Rush and Blaze might have lost her memory of Sonic and Silver during her sacrifice when she was sent to her dimension.
