My Corpse Princess dvd's came in a week before release, today definitely didn't suck! I've been wanting months to finally get this show. And I got a free T-Shirt with it, it will hang in my closet for an eternity, I won't wear that thing in public.

I saw School Days, main male protagonist was an asshole, glad he got his just desserts a long with that slut, I felt sorry for the poor girl in the end, but she owned everyone.

The ending of School Days was a major "O_O" in my opinion due to how graphic and insane it was. I felt the series in general was a big "WTF?" being how surreal it got.

Apparentally, this show is being made by Gainax, and the staff who made Gurren Lagann and FLCL are developing this series.

Intresting choice of style as well, Kinda reminds me of a cross between Dead Leaves and Powepuff Girls. Dunno about you guys, but this looks like a lot of freakin fun. I'll have to keep an eye out for it sometime.

Panty and Stocking looks uhhh, interesting, to say the least. Seems like it'll be full of LOLSEX jokes (just look at these comics if the trailer's orgasming bg music didn't convince you), but I think I'll still be taking a look when it comes out.

Aside from the art, Taku Takahashi doing the music should be all the incentive you need. And even if the humor or story is retarded, the action might be cool enough to make up for it!

I mean the more information I look up about this series, the more reasons I find to check this out. This can be pretty entertaining.

Except with HotD the director is actually such an enormous idiot that he thinks the show is literally about fanservice. This is Gainax, fanservice has to be in there somewhere, it's their thing, but it wouldn't be too much.

Well, Highschool of the Dead was good in the beginning, but I'm starting to get bored of it... So I moved on to Shiki. Personally I think Shiki is a lot better than HOTD, and it's actually a little creepy, though animated horror barely phases anyone.

Highschool of the Dead is retarded and even though a lot of anime features heavy doses of fanservice, few have surpassed the level of Matrix Boobies. Also, the fanservice gets in the way of the plot, way too much (from what I've read).

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is supposedly an action/comedy show drawn like a Powerpuff Girls episode that will almost certainly take the piss out of the fanservice every chance it gets.

Basically, it is like comparing a softcore porn movie to Austin Powers.

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is supposedly an action/comedy show drawn like a Powerpuff Girls episode that will almost certainly take the piss out of the fanservice every chance it gets.

Basically, it is like comparing a softcore porn movie to Austin Powers.

I don't think it's quite apples and oranges, since all of this was already existent in the manga and the anime actually softens up things that were already existent in the manga.

That and it follows one of my least favorite part of earlier horror films, which yes had nudity in them from every series to Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Living Dead series, it was something that was headbanging enough in the 70s-90s. I'm not saying I enjoy the fanservice in HotD, I think it would be better without it too but at the same time that's how it was in the manga and the company is just sticking faithful to the source material, though I think maybe they should of done what they do in some anime adaptions with ecchi and remove it for plot development, what happens sometimes when anime adaptions come off things that originally had ecchi in them.

But my point does remain, ecchi was intended all along by the creator of the manga to be in it, just as in Panty & Stocking a focus on sex is intended all along, thus though different stylings the intended effect was always there even if the direction both take about it is different. HotD takes the 70s-90s horror film philosophy where horror and sex come together while Panty & Stocking is more of an American style cartoon with sex as the focus. The only difference is HotD is equal parts character driven, horror, and sex while this seems to be... Sex with comedy and action, I'll say equal parts action and comedy when I see it. The reason people think it's bigger is since I understand people were off-put when a series that took itself fairly seriously got an unserious fanservice taste opposed to an action/comedy series focused on sex, but those are differences of genres as horror films in the past have had this exaggerant tone of nudity and sex scenes in it's films (not all but many in the past) while this clearly makes sex the forefront.

The reception to Panty & Stocking here is good but I do see a lot of people around the web not interested in it for various reasons so I guess to a lesser extent it'll get backlash still. My point in all of this mainly is that sex was an intended point on both sides and people who claimed they couldn't watch HotD for exaggerated fanservice seem OK with a series that, no offense, is fairly focused on sex and fanservice at it's core and seems every bit as exaggerated if not more though I do understand style of the series and animation do make a difference. I just think it's interesting.

I didn't really like the comic either, when I saw it months ago I was like "o gainax how the mighty have fallen" but the trailer seemed awesome.
