Don't know if this is well-known, but in SA2B I found an easter egg about the original SA2. In the cutscene before you fight the Egg Golem (it should work no matter which story you choose, as I recall.) There is a shot of a door opening and Sonic and his friends coming through. Well, if you keep pressing A while the door is opening, you'll see Big instead.

The sound effect when the car screechs in Outrun is in Sonic The Hedgehog when Sonic skids to a halt.

 

It's similar, but I don't think it's the same sound. To me, it sounds more like the whistle noise from Fantasy Zone (or Sonic 1 SMS/GG's bonus stage)
