Strangest thing(s) you found in a Sonic game?

Because similarities between different things means one of them is stolen from the other.

Stolen/inspired from, whatever. It's not uncommon. I'm not saying they definitely did, but there's an 85% chance they did. Apart from the red being changed to grey, they're the same. The game was very popular back then too.

If anything, it's pretty neat. I guess fan games can influence the main series after all. So they're not that useless.

Another strange moment was how Eggman dies in three of Shadow's endings, but Sonic dies in none despite Shadow's intentions to do so. Maybe just because Sonic has plot armor due to being the mascot, but I felt kind of cheated. You get to see Shadow ... kill Eggman however way with a simple chop of his fingers three times, but Sonic's death is always implied.

That reminds me of Mario's drowning in SM64 (they gave him a more cartoonish drowning in 64DS):

The "damns" in Shadow the Hedgehog. Wh did they even bother? I still have the game to this day and purposely fail Sonic's Lethal Highway mission just to hear him say "DaMn, ThEy GoT aWay!"

You know what your avatar just reminded me of? The facial animations in Sonic Adventure of course. They made the heads look like they were made of jello or something. xD Very strange the way they looked.

To put it in a pointlessly wordy way, you're meant to assume that it was previously some horrible substitute, like the other PA jokes that indicate that Eggman's theme park is not a very nice place to be.

Am I the only one who noticed how odd it is for Birdie to have a locket around his neck with a photo and Chaos Emerald inside it?

I mean, it's not like Birdie is very sapient is he? So why would he have a photo? And where did he get that emerald from exactly?

I always thought it was odd, how much SA takes inspiration from NiGHTS. Hell, Windy Valley is essentially the airborne spawn of Spring Valley and Stick Canyon, and then the whole Casinopolis thing.

But hey, imitation is the best form of flattery, and if you're going to emulate any game's style, you might as well emulate NiGHTS.

My personal weird moments in Sonic games:

- One of the images in Sonic CD's sound test with the muscled human-esque Sonic in it.

-When Eggman told Knuckles in SA that Sonic is after the Master Emerald shards as well, when Knuckles encounters him, in all 3 versions of the encounter, (Sonic, Tails Knuckles) with them that leads into a fight, Knuckles says something among the lines of 'Hand over the Emerald, now!' Even in his own version when he spots them before attacking them he remarks about the green Chaos Emerald looking like a piece of the Master Emerald since they are the same color, and he still says the wrong line. If he just said 'Hand over the Master Emerald pieces!' Sonic would have shown him that it was a Chaos Emerald and Eggman's trickery would have felt through.

-Big being able to somehow pilot the Tornado 2 in no landing gear-mode off the Egg Carrier while lying on the plane with holding the controls (watch the CGI cutscene of the Egg Carrier malfunctioning in Big's story and spot it for yourself) and managing to fly it all the way back to his home in the Mystic Ruins jungle. Although I guess this was done on purpose to show that Big isn't as retarded as people would think.

I saw Big running down the road in City Escape in the G.U.N. truck part in the original Sonic Adventure 2. The first time I saw that, I thought he was crushed or something.

Then I saw him multiple times later in the game. Not that I wanted to.

Just his bad temper showing. Sonic did frequently act temperamental in SA and it's understandable considering the amount of setbacks that he goes through during the story coupled with the short tempered side of his personality.
