Didn't really look too closely at the second two Riders games, so I have no opinion on their music.

I tend to like the jazzier Sonic tunes, as the majority of my list indicates. The series is full of good music of all genres though!

This one. This is just fantastic. I had gotten my dreamcast when SA 1 came out...........I played for like an hour and when I got to Windy Valley. I heard this song. I almost cried at how good it was. Jun Senoue is a genius.

Too many.

But especially anything grandoise like Wing Fortress Zone/X-Zone, or intense like Chaos Angel Zone/Crisis City Classic, or melancholy like Egg Rocket Zone/Jungle Joyride Night, or simply lovely like JP/EU Collision Chaos Good Future/Windy Hill for Windy Valley/High and Broken. And the majority of the boss themes, Robotnik-related or not. Oh, and anything that's really sad, like Gamma's theme or the Last Scene... or the Mega Collection Extras/Options theme. So basically, 80% of everything.

Wait, lyric themes? Well again, most of them, even though I find it annoying how they always overshadow the level/boss/etc themes of their respective games all the time.

Nearly all of Sonic 3K's soundtrack stands out for me, but my favourites include Lava Reef Act 2/Hidden Palace's music (A very underrated track actually, I always thought it sounded beautiful.) As well as all of the tracks in the Vs. levels (Chrome gadget probably being the best, for reasons I can't really explain)

Actually, I'm torn between Chrome Gadget and Endless mine. Some remixes of Chrome gadget have sounded just as brilliant as the original, but no remixes of Endless mine that I've heard have ever done the original justice (It's almost as if I interpret the melody and chord progression in a way that no one else does)

As for Sonic CD, I think the Japanese soundtrack has the better level music, and the USA soundtrack has the better jingles. I'm quite a fan of Wacky workbench's good future, and Metallic Madness' bad future, as well as both futures for Stardust speedway. (The 'Act clear' jingle in the american soundtrack I also think is pretty good)

The first two games on the Game Gear/Master System had great soundtracks, my favourites being Bridge Zone, Labyrinth Zone and Sky Base Zone from Sonic 1, and Gimmick Mt. and Crystal Egg from Sonic 2. Gimmick Mt. kinda sounds like a remix of Collision Chaos' bad future (Or Collision Chaos Bad future sounds like a remix of Gimmick Mt, whichever you prefer). As for crystal egg, if it were properly arranged, it would make a great 'new age' style piece of music. It's no wonder the tune got remixed in Sonic & Knuckles collection, though I can't say I'm partial to that arrangement.

Oh, and I really like the Saturn version of Rusty Ruin's music, though it's so different from most other music in Sonic games I hardly ever associate it with the Sonic games.

As for the 3D games, there are a lot of great tracks as well; tracks in Sonic adventure that stand out for me are Tricky Maze (Again, it's not the most sonic-y sounding track in the series, but it's brilliant both in the game and on its own), Twinkle circuit, and Militant Missionary.

I find Knuckles' tracks in Sonic adventure 2 a bit sucky. However that doesn't stop tracks from other parts of the game, like Lost Colony, Metal Harbour (That's the way I like it) and as other people have said, Sky Rail (Mr. Unsmiley)

Sonic Heroes had some pretty good music as well (Like a mask to cover the true horror that lies in the game itself) with Bingo Highway being a personal favourite. I've always liked those wacked-out tracks from the Sonic series, and any game to be honest. The remix found on the OST(?) is even better than the original, I feel.

Sonic 06 had a few memorable tracks, but I find it to be a bit overrated. (The E3 version of His World, as well as the LB vs. JS remix of Dreams of an Absolution, were probably the best tracks)

As for Sonic Unleashed, Skyscraper Scamper and Jungle Joyride were probably my favourite tracks. I also liked both the Day and Night versions of Dragon Road

I prefer the classic remix of Sky Sanctuary in Sonic Generations to the original. The bassline and drums in this version really make the song much better as a whole. during the climactic part of the song, it really sonuds a million times better than the original, with an ominous tone really conveying the sense of peril one would expect from a crumbling ruins suspended in the sky.

I am quite a fan of Metallic Madness Good Future - Japanese/European version. As I remember someone saying before - it makes you feel like you've won the game already and I agree. It's so cool. There are so many good songs out there though, it's difficult to pick a number 1 favourite. I also love Sonic 2 - Wing Fortress - probably for the same reason . You can't really sing along to those though, which is where songs like Open Your Heart and Live and Learn are good. Depends on your mood really, doesn't it?

For the classic era, pretty much everything from Sonic 2, especially the 2 player result music for nostalgic reasons. I was so happy to see it brought back in Generations!

For Dreamcast/Gamecube Era: Open Your Heart, Live And Learn, EGGMAN, I am All of Me, Waking Up, This Machine, Team Chaotix's Theme, probably too many to count.

I haven't played any of the modern games aside from Sonic Generations (yet) but I really loved both remixes to City Escape, Speed Highway, and Rooftop Run, as well as the modern version to Chemical Plant and the VS Shadow rival boss.

I'm pretty much in love with the Sonic Generations OST right now. It has so many wonderful remixes and hidden tunes from the classics. My favorite from the OST though, is a tie between Water Palace (Act 2), Boss Battle: Big Arms, Planet Wisp (Act 1), and City Escape (Act1). I also enjoy listening to the S3&K music tracks.

I have way too many favourites. Any form of Stardust Speedway will do, regardless of country it came from. And no, Metal Sonics theme is Stardust Speedway Bad Future. D;

I agree with whoever enjoyed the entire Sonic Generations Soundtrack, total ear candy.
