I think there's already a thread for the comics or at least there's a thread about the where that particular plot is being talked about.

I made the comic topic but nobody went in it. :P

Soooo...Iron Man 3. Irooooon Maaaaan Threeeee. I'm really not all that sure what to say about it. There were some things I really liked, and a lot of things I really didn't like. Namely:

The Mandarin just being a paid actor. The scene itself was funny and well executed, but...really? No, I wasn't expecting him to live in a CASTLE OF EVIL and have ten magical rings that shoot laser beams or whatever like in the comics, I *knew* straight away that version of the character probably wouldn't work on the silver screen. He still could have been the leader of the Ten Rings group though; a damn menacing and intimidating one at that judging from Kingsley's performance of him in earlier scenes.

The real problem, though, is that with Mandarin out of the picture the movie has no interesting main villain. Guy Pearce in a polo shirt (I am calling him this since I have completely forgotten his character's name already) is the personification of blandness, made even blander after being overshadowed by Manda-sorry, TREVOR.

I'd still like to know who this Harley kid is and why the fuck he's do damn smart, and my eyes were constantly rolling after Pepper "died" because I didn't buy it for a fucking second. However, I didn't really have anything against the rest of the movie. It had some good action scenes, the humor was spot-on as usual. I loved Tony's character arc and how the events of Avengers have given him anxiety attacks, which is something we rarely see explored in comic books or other superhero movies, even though it should technically be incredibly common among superheroes.

There was a lot to like and I had fun watching it, but that twist really ruined a lot of the movie for me. This is like if halfway through The Dark Knight we found out Joker wasn't real and the villain was actually that lawyer that tried to blackmail Bruce Wayne. I hate to think about what we missed out on by pushing Mandarin into the sidelines like this.

Hulk, Ant-Man & Doctor Strange Focus Of Marvel's Phase Three

On the heels of "Iron Man 3" hitting the billion-dollar mark this week, Marvel Studios is opening up about which superheroes they intend to bring to the big screen in coming years.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed which characters are favored to land in their multi-film project known as Phase Three.

The first officially confirmed project? Edgar Wright's "Ant-Man," which is slated to hit theaters in November 2015 (just six months after "The Avengers 2" is released).

"We started working with Edgar on that movie right in the dawn of us becoming our own studio," Feige revealed to EW. "It goes back so long you maybe even remember our 2006 appearance at Comic-Con -- Edgar was on that panel talking about 'Ant-Man.' And it had been a few years [of planning] at that point."

"Ant-Man" features a superhero with a suit that allows him to shrink in size and communicate with insects and creatures. The lead character has yet to be cast.

Also a contender is Doctor Strange - the surgeon-turned-sorcerer tasked with protecting Earth from supernatural threats.

"I would love Strange to be a part of [Phase Three] only because he's a great character. He's a great standalone character," Feige said. "He's got a great origin story, for the most part. And that world of pure magic, we haven't done yet."

Adding, "There's a whole supernatural/magic alternate dimension going on in the Marvel comics that we haven't ever touched on. So I think that's exciting."

Also in the mix is a "Hulk" feature, starring Mark Ruffalo (who plays Hulk/Bruce Banner in "The Avengers").

"Mark could stand in his own movie... We're talking about it," Feige said. "We're excited to sit down and go, 'What is a standalone Hulk movie?'"

Hopefully they introduce one of the best villains in Marvel's history in Ant-Man.

So there is going to be a Fantastic 4 reboot. And guess who is going to be playing Johnny Storm?

This is going to be glorious. This also means that Susan Storm will be black as well. White Washing be damned.

They are mutants. Well, They are Magneto's kids. In the Ultimate Universe, they are also lovers(yes, brother and sister incest). Quicksilver's power is superspeed. Scarlet Witch's power is causally rewriting and retconning Marvel story lines. I'm not even joking when I say this.

I thought MCU couldn't use mutants as they are strictly in the X-Men realm. Then again, they used the Iron Patriot which, last I checked, was Norman Osbourne.

With Quesada and Slott both on the Committee of MCU that pretty much is in charge of how characters are, hell no. They'd want their Spider-man on-screen. The loser. The character that never learns and never develops because being an adult is too hard to write for them. The only person on that committee that I trust with the character is Brian Michael Bendis and at least Sony makes the effort to solely contact him on the issue and disregards Slott.

But for the sake of the movie I'm sure they'll limit her power to her fortune fuckery powers only.

The deal is that both Marvel or Fox could use those two, but the former can't mention they're mutants/Magneto's children, and the latter can't mention their Avengers membership.

...This is the dumbest.

By the logic, it would also explain the Iron Patriot...except for the part that Iron Patriot is a direct alias to Norman Osborne. If I wagered, the random and recent addition of Tony Stark wearing the Iron Patriot suit in the Ultimates during the Divided We Fall act was really a legal move to muddle up the designation of the alias so if Sony got uppity  Marvel could simply point to the comic with Tony Stark as the Iron Patriot thus is a Disney owned property.

Shit.

Since RDJ doesn't want to be Iron Man anymore..............

and they pretty much ended his character arc in 3..............................could they use her to essentially get rid of Iron Man?

No, they'll just get someone else to play Stark is all.

I'd rather not have that happen considering how utterly perfect Robert is for the role (check the comics: Tony Stark even looks like RDJ long before they cast him), and how good he is at it, he pretty much IS Tony Stark for me, and I really couldn't see anyone else doing the role without utterly failing to fill those massive shoes. I'd rather they just write him out somehow and lay the character to rest for a while: his character arc is pretty much over after IM3.

Considering they wound't be messing with 50 years of canon and Peter started that way, in a MCU Spidey movie, that might not be the worst thing to happen.

They just won't show Iron Man out of the suit and they'll get someone who has a similar voice to him to say the lines.

And it begins. God, just keep him away from Loeb, Quesada, and Slott.

I somehow doubt this will happen, but stranger things have happened this year. At this point though, I couldn't care less about Spider-Man.

Though it had some of the same issues the Raimi trilogy had, as well as it's own problems, Amazing Spider-Man was a pretty good movie.
