Anyway, I gots stuffs to say about the release. To all of those involved, this applies to you.

Good news!

 

The album's mastering is almost complete! Last I checked with EAR, he's got most of the tracks down, and should be finished by tomorrow, if not sometime next week! With all the album covers in tow save EAR's (which should come with the remastered tracks, though I'll have to check with Sean on his back cover - thanks for pointing it out, Mike!), that means that The Sonic Stadium Music Adventure 2012 is almost done!

 

 

Yes, yes, excite!

Emergency Bad News Bears

 

Remember when I talked about your artist profiles the last time I made a notice like this? And the time before that? That's KINDA needed for the website. As of now, I only got 10 out of the 50some folks. On that front, I'm disappointed. If there's no website, then we can't distribute the album. The biggest part of that website is the artist profiles, and we couldn't even get those (basically the easiest of things you can contribute) by the end of February.

 

 

With that, you all have 10 days to send them over. By the end of that, that's it! Your profile will remain bare, and you'll revoke your early access to the album, so you'll end up waiting about as long as everyone else will. That's mean, I know, but that's how it's gonna go. After those 12 days, I'm not waiting any longer.

 

 

Wha-NO. NOOOOOOOO. BAD. NO MORE PUPPY EYES, NO MORE EXTENSIONS. I'VE GIVEN ENOUGH OF THOSE ON THIS PROJECT ALREADY. I AM LAYING DOWN THE LAW NOW, SO NO. THAT IS IT.

 

Basically, send a short write-up/autobiography, links you'd like to share (YouTube, Soundcloud, deviantART, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, ANYTHING), an 80x80 icon to go with your profile, and (optionally) a Related Project you'd like to advertise. I need all of this by March 12th. That's 10 days from now. That's more than enough time to put something like this together.

 

Send me those details either via PM, or at vizardjeffhog@sonicstadium.org, alternatively (even better if ya have me on Facebook!). If we can get those, the website, and the album ready, there won't be anything or anyone left to keep the album from going public besides me.

 

 

To the musicians who want to help making the website easier, I'm on a bit of a scavenger hunt. As you might recall, the site for last year's album had matching images with each song. This year, we're aiming for the same thing. If you want to help accelerate the process, find screenshots of each stage/theme that you'd like to use (preferably at a high quality) and post 'em here (to keep my inboxes from being cluttered with the artist profiles).

 

As for the 16 originals we have on board, try to use screenshots that match, preferably not artwork belonging to another artist as it likely won't get credited (no offence on that department, as we're simply trying to avoid trouble). Marvin's "Lost in the Sunset", being an SatBK-esque track, can use an SatBK image, Joshua Taipale's "Blazing Citadel) can use a Bowser's Castle-like image since it was based on the idea of Sonic going through such a stage, and etc.

Next time I post a notice like this, I hope to god it's for the release of the album.

For the track images Jeff mentioned, please, please, PLEASE make them good quality. For older consoles that means emulator or PC version screenshots at native resolution (e.g. 320x224 for Mega Drive) and PNG or GIF format. Newer ones, PC screens or good captures at full res, PNG or good quality JPEG, and not taken from a video! You can source from Google Images or wherever, as long as they meet these requirements

 

I know I probably sound really demanding here, but images for 100-some tracks will take up a lot of space, and I need to do as much as I can to limit that. That unfortunately requires images that I can manipulate well without losing much quality.

As for the images for my song, kinda having trouble finding a specific thing in mind. For my Reach for the Stars one, I was hoping to find a super crystal clear HD image of this right when it hits 0:56 with the green pixels and stuffs but haven't found any luck and any Youtube video I grab from looks grainy and weird.

And to further my dumbness, I can't hardly even find a screen shot of Levitated Ruin that's bigger than 500x500 XD.

BMN I'll e-mail my PSD if I can to you, I don't know why you want it though as a lot of the layers beneath Sonic hide some pretty nasty gaps and mistakes, including missing guitar strings beneath Sonic's SOAPS.
