I would have no problem with this whatsoever.

This genuinely looks excellent, if there's nothing super-exciting out at the time I can see myself getting this day 1 or close to it. The adventure-sounding single player, transforming vehicles, fantastic visuals and locales, etc all have me excited to see how this turns out. I definitely want to see more before release but it's off to a good start.

adventure sounding and transforming vehicles are queues from DKRacing, Sad that this is the only other sonic game out this year but at the same time it means that Sonic Team and or Dimps will have more time to develop something without throwing it out unfinished. I tipically never pick up two types of the same sport genre on a game platform expect on the N64 with Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing. But I might do it again with MK7 and this game. I will first wait and see how awsome Casino Night and Chemical Plant look on the 3DS.

It was odd to find out that Kirby was /is being considered for the game over the main mascot Mario.

I think Nintendo branching out from their main seller to a different game is great.(if this is true) Edited by Albert Wesker

I've been a heavy supporter of the first game. Man i dunno how many fun races i had with a bunch of you guys here on retro and stadium on 360.

I'm a big kart racer fan, the first Sonic SEGA All-Stars racing had the most solid drifting I ever experienced in any kart racer, including Crash and Mario Kart.

------------------

One thing I hope to see is more tracks and characters of variety. I hope to see most (not all) racers who made it in the game at least have a track from their own series and not mainly focusing on Sonic and maybe 2-3 other franchises.

Another thing is different lobby options.

Character Selection...

Most people go by first come first serve but I just find it unfair at times that not everyone switches up their characters.

As an optional setting, a random character selection feature for all players would be nice.

Course selection..

Such as:

-the host being able to choose the tracks of his/her will...

-random course selection feature

-voting/veto'ing feature. (Players vote on which track to play next)

Different game modes (not just racing being able to be played online...)

Examples:

-Prix mode (after a set number of courses have been played, a winner is determined)

-Battle Mode.

-Collect Chao/ Chaos Emeralds

-Knockout race. (player in last place is eliminated after every lap until one player is left)

-Team races

-Baton races

-Any other Game modes Sumo can come up with..

Remove the host's inability to start the race because not all players are ready. As a host I find it completely annoying to not being able to start a race because the players can't get ready. There should be a set time limit in which everyone gets ready. I don't want to have to keep kicking players so I can start a race..

I'm really anticipating this game and I hope to see more continued support for this game (after release) than the last one.

If I can have "one character request". It would be Axel from Streets of Rage (Bare Knuckle) in a police car. Include a 80s/90s inspired city with a "Go straight" blasting in the background and I'm sold.

Finally caught up on reading all 13 pages of posts in this thread...it was a good read! I used all my likes too sad.png Anyway, I am very excited about this game! I loved the first one, and this one looks so much better. The only thing I'm not happy about it to hear that the announcer is gone. I found him quite entertaining in the first ASR game and I enjoyed his commentary.

racing through seaside hill 3 times was a bit repetitive sometimes.

If I see Seaside Hill one more time in a Sonic game...I am going to scream.

Yay! Another game that I will buy, making me poorer. I'm so glad Sega loves me so much.

Haha, I hear you. But it looks like money that is going to be well spent, right? This game looks amazing. I will more than likely be buying this game a minimum of 3 times: 2 Xbox 360 versions (one for me and the other for my nephews) and the 3DS version. Take my money Sega...I'll have no regrets smile.png

AWWWWWWWWW YEAH! I am SO going to get this game! Loved -- absolutely LOVED -- the first one! Everyone who missed it, missed out on something awesome.

Looks like they're really going all out with this one. And I glad this game will have more of a budget to work with, and is getting a much bigger push!

I'm liking the new characters revealed already, but as for returning characters... If some are being removed, please do not remove the Bonanza Bros! Oh please, on a cranberry chocolate sundae don't remove them!

*Fingers crossed hard.*

Still, either way, I'm already sold.

If Ryo gets cut, and if I don't see Hank Hill, I'm finding the tallest building the area and leaping off of it.

Everything else is swag as hell though. Can't wait.

Ryo seems to be pretty popular; I'd be surprised if he got the boot. If Segata Sanshiro's really in and he gets a motorcycle (like he damn well should), then I can maybe see Ryo being left out so the game doesn't have two relatively normal Japanese guys on bikes in it, but otherwise I'm sure he's safe.

The one character from the first ASR who I'm genuinely worried might be cut is (well, are) the ChuChus. I don't even like ChuChu Rocket! that much, but they're just so glossy and adorable~

I actually have money on Zobio and Zobiko being cut. They were in a game the western world hasn't seen, and I doubt anyone mained them in ASR.

I hope the Bonanza Bros. stay though. Love those guys.

I wonder if there will be different battle modes for the different vehicles? I would assume so. It would be cool to have each with their own arenas.

Do we have any sales figures for the first game? According to questionable VG Chartz, the original sold just over 3 million on DS, Wii, 360 and PS3 combined. There's the original crappy iOS version, the new iOS version, PC version and Arcade versions that have to be considered as well. I think the original was perhaps more of a hit than expected if it really did turn out 3 million. And that's only going to make Transformed better.

Any Banjo rumours splashing around?

The game has just been announced.

Like, yesterday.

Come back and ask a hell of a lot closer to release, I don't think you'll be hearing anything for quite a while yet, if at all.

This game creates a pack finish mainly by good balance... however there is a "1st place attack weapon", but (unlike the MK blue shell), with some good driving it is avoidable... It's mentioned in one of the reviews/interviews on one of the web sites. But you'd have to read em all cos I can't remember which site it is...

Oh dear... I don't remember seeing this mentioned. I hope this weapon isn't as annoying as the blue shell.

A "1st Place Attack Weapon"? Does a game like this really need an equivalent to the Blue Shells?

Not having a 1st place attack weapon was one of the plus points to ASR in my opinion. I really don't welcome this news.

Oh dear... I don't remember seeing this mentioned. I hope this weapon isn't as annoying as the blue shell.

ASR already had the massive blue rocket that was a brilliant counter to the blue shell problem. You launched it, watched it on the map and detonated it when you wanted. And it could be both dodged and shielded against. You knew it was coming because it showed up on your radar way before it was within striking distance. I hope this is that weapon. Otherwise... :(

Couple more things. One, a Now Gamer preview with a very good quote to pull out every time someone cries Mario Kart 7 copy:

We were sitting in a meeting room at work watching the E3 conferences and Nintendo came on and we all wondered if they’d be doing a new Mario Kart,” Lee exclaims.

“Then they had a montage of things and you had a kart sprout wings, and we all looked around the room, and then you saw a car go into water and we were all like, ‘No fucking way!’ But then they went into each one in depth and, although it’s kind of flying, it’s more falling with style.

"Whereas the driving underwater… that’s not boating. There will be a few people who think we’re copying them – but no! We’ve been making this game for 18 months.

And from Dreadknux over at Spong, a few more interesting tidbits:

  • Amigo, for instance, scoots around on a Samba de Amigo-themed Train on ground, which transforms into a steamboat on water and a classic biplane in the air.
  • Tricks on the L1 and R1 buttons have been replaced with a barrel roll manouevre, which still results in a burst of extra speed upon landing but can double as a quick mid-air cornering function.
  • Double-tapping the trick button whilst on ground can also result in a quick dash to the left or right.

You can avoid it at least, so it's already less annoying than the Blue Shell.

You can avoid the blue shell, too. What worries me is if this weapon is as limited in ways to avoid it as the blue shell.
