I didn't like how Ricitiello (sp?) implied that first person shooters (or any singleplayer game) which lack online multiplayer are worthless.

Some of the very best games around don't even have multiplayer features.

This is unfortunately the way things seem to be going. I've seen more than one quote recently about how 'constant online' is now 'standard among all gamers'. Um, no, it's not, and I doubt I'm living in the only place in the US where everyone doesn't have stable, full-time connections. If all gamers had constant online access, I wouldn't have to keep hooking friends' units to my network to get critical updates or download games. It's not merely a matter of cost, either, this just isn't an area with any big cities or big infrastructure. (I live in the local 'big city' - of 5,000 people.)
