Your Perfect Sonic Voice Acting Cast

Let's say that you where in charge of voice directing for the series and you could pick any voice actors(or even just actors) to portray the characters. Who would you cast? These would be my choices:

Sonic = Tossup between Billy West or Josh Keaton

Tails = Greg Cipes in his "Beast Boy" voice

Amy Rose = Tara Strong

Knuckles = John DiMaggio

Eggman = Mike Pollock(why change what isn't broken)

Shadow = Nolan North

Rouge = Grey DeLisle

Doubt anyone would agree with my choice, but this is who I'd pick.

In all seriousness though, I have always thought it a real shame that they never got Megan Hollingshead to voice Rouge, especially when we had the 4Kids cast. I've always thought she had the perfect voice for Rouge, personally, even back when hearing her as Mai in Yu-Gi-Oh.

Oh, also, only being half serious here, but I do sometimes think they should replace Shadow's Japanese voice actor with Ishida Akira. And start writing Shadow with Zura's personality (Gintama reference; seriously, anyone who watches the show, amirite? XD)

I think Billy West's Fry voice sounds like what I think Sonic would be.

Josh Keaton's Spider-Man sounds perfect for Sonic

Tara Strong is a talented voice actress and I think she could pull of a good Amy without sounding too Minnie Mousey

With Greg Cipes I know people with think he sounds a bit too old for Tails but I think his Teen Titans Beast Boy voice sounds enough like a young preteen male's voice.

John Dimaggio's voice is perfect for that "gruff tough guy" role. I imagine him sounding kinda like Jake from Adventure Time.

Grey Delisle's voice for Doctor Holiday is how I imagine Rouge sounding like except maybe a little more sultry.

Nolan North's Superboy voice in Young Justice is pretty Shadow-like.

Current voice-cast.

Haven't had enough material from them yet to pass any substantial judgement, and I want to wait and see before completely making up my mind on whether I would want them replaced.

I don't have any nostalgia/attachment for a particular voice-acting crew, so I suppose that doesn't pollute my view of acting skills. Right now, I feel the best acting was in Colours, but I still think there is room for improvement as actors fit into their roles better and hopefully stories thicken into something which actually gives the actors something substantial to work with.

The first cast ever (Sonic Adventure) is my favorite.

Sonic's voice is just perfect, confident and badass.

I love Tails', because he actualy sounds like a 8 years old boy, and not like a girl ¬¬

Amy doesn't sound too young or too retarded

Knuckles' fits him perfectly

Eggman's... GET A LOAD OF THIS! ALL SYSTEMS, FULL POWER! Do I have to say more?

Never cared for Big's and Gamma's, but they're also good

I also love Shadow's and Rouge's on Sonic Adventure 2.

Like I said, the first wave was the best IMO.

The others are fine, I don't really care. But the current actor for Knux seems to just be mimicing Dan.

My personal belief is that Dan didn't come to the auditons, and if he had, he would have been cast. But that's just my opinion.

If I was to recast Sonic himself though...

Billy West is a good choice for Sonic, but I think is "Fry" voice is based off Marty Mcfly. Urm... how about Michael J. Fox then?

Although my personal favorite is Balena production's take on him. Heavily based off Ryan Drummond, but yet somehow inflicted with Griffith's "Soul" and Roger's sarcasm. He's personally my favorite take on sonic.

Sonic and Eggman have perfect voice actors now. There's no room for improvement here. Amy's voice actor can go shit in her hat though.

On the topic of VAs, though. Ryan Drummond was shit. Absolute shit during his entire run. He was only remotely tolerable in the Adventure games. I'm not saying Griffith was all that great initially either, but he actually improved SUBSTANTIALLY to the point where I actually liked his voice as of Unleashed.
