Oh here's a another one.

Whenever someone says Sega should sell Sonic to Nintendo, I feel the the unstoppable need to slap said person through their computer screen.

The automatic labelling of people who like or happen to prefer the Japanese voice option in the games, the Japanese designs of the classic characters and/or the Japanese storylines prior to Sonic Adventure as being weeaboo's.

This would only be so if those people's preferences for these things are solely because it's Japanese/of Japanese origin. Having an appreciation for excellent and emotive voice acting isn't being a weeaboo. Neither is having a preference for and/or liking the character designs and storylines in those old manuals.

This is no exaggeration, every single instance I've read of those pulling-up/criticising people who happen to like aspects of JP Sonic over the Western designs, stories and English VA'ing has culminated in the word "weeaboo" being thrown around without rhyme or reason, showing how much this word is misunderstood.

Word. I happen to think Junichi Kanemaru just sounds better than any of the American Sonic voice actors, so I prefer the Japanese voice settings.

Anyway, I've thought of additional peeves:

~ The size of the touch controls in the iPhone ports of Sonic games, namely S4E2. They could at least make the touch analog stick button larger so that you're given a bit of leeway when it comes to where you put your finger on the screen. Too many times have I had Sonic stop dead because my thumb moved a centimeter to the right.

~ Iizuka declaring Knuckles' Chaotix as non-canon. Yes, it's not a recurring event but it still disappointed me nonetheless, as Chaotix is a game I like.

~ Jet the Hawk, in general. (Okay, not really. Posting this cause of Nepenthe. :P)

Whenever people call Vector an alligator. It's nothing big, it's probably because I know a lot about animals. But still I get a little bit irked when people call him an alligator.

Also I get a bit annoyed when two of my female friends (who are also big animal people) argue over whether Vector is a Nile Crocodile or a Saltwater Crocodile

.... One day we're going to have a serious fight about this, and you'll be like, "Man, I wish I didn't get on Penth's tits about that awesome Jet the Hawk fellow so much." D':

  • Ship wars(like Sonamy vs. Sonally, despite both being from different continuities.)

I NEVER understood this one...

different narrative continuities... the characters, the dynamics of the relationships, the situations, are NOT the same!

The whole notion of character seniority equalling character superiority.

No, character's predating other characters doesn't make them automatically better than them. Like characters for their personalities, appearances, abilities etc, not for how long they've been around. That notion of prizing characters for their seniority above other later-introduced characters and then deeming said later-introduced characters as being inferior because they were introduced later is such empty, prejudiced bullshit and is an amazingly shallow reason to prize/hate a character.

It actually bugs me a bit when people say Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 have 'aged really badly'. Pesonally, I can't see it, myself. Admittedly, maybe that's just a case of playing them so much over the years that I'm used to and overlook their flaws, but still, I just can't see it. Maybe a little, but still.

I was thinking something very similar, but was afraid to say it. Having said that, there are three glitches that stick out to me (all three of which are in SA1), one on Emerald Coast, one on Final Egg, and one small one on Sky Deck...

People who draw Sonic porn on deviantART

I have had many an afternoon browsing ruined by this

"Yeah but that should have been in the games to begin with." That line just really makes me mad. Okay, we get it. That was a fundamental that they finally got right. But they FINALLY got it so do you have to try and not be happy that they fixed it?

Well, I guess it would be the fact that Sonic's friends don't serve much use anymore. If there'll be a game next time where Sonic's friends are re-established, then they'll always be known as "Sonic's Shitty Friends"

Sonic porn? That's it?

Dude in this day and age, your whole childhood should be ruined due to "rule 34" by now.

Speaking of which (again), I also hate it when someone other than Sonic or Eggman appears (even if it's one of the older characters in the series like Tails), and commenters immediately declare the game "RUINED FOREVER" just because one or two of "Sonic's shitty friends" (which is sadly labeled on anyone not Sonic or Eggman) merely appeared. People are still doing this as shown by Generations, even though Sonic's friends did little in that entire game altogether. Ugh.

No, but I've seen fan fic writers and artists do so.

Kiss would had been less awkward, but she would had still sucked otherwise.

Kiss would had been less awkward,.

Why? It was still out of nowhere.

"Hey, I sort-of like you even though I've no idea who you were before 2 days ago. LET ME KISS YOUR CORPSE!"

The problem wasn't her species, it was the writing.

I meant that it was less awkward that a awkwardly proportioned female hedgehog would be kissing an awkwardly proportioned dead male hedgehog in order to bring him back to life, rather than a female human straight from the Uncanny Valley kissing a awkwardly proportioned dead male hedgehog in order to bring him back to life.

Well, at least to me anyway it would had been less awkward anyway.

Fair enough, I don't agree one bit, but to each their own.

At least you didn't put "Bestiality" as the argument.

Can I say that it really annoys me how much praise Sonic Generations get when really it wasn't that amazing? It was too short, too easy, had the worst final boss in history and it was just so underwhelming, more so than Sonic Colours.

It's unjust that Sonic Unleashed gets worse reviews when it's 10x better than Generations! If this is a sign of what future Sonic games will be like, I'm NOT looking forward to it.

See, I agree that Unleashed is better than Generations...

...But they were both pretty much the same length. The difference was Unleashed's forced medal collecting and long cutscenes. If you just play the levels/missions you need to finish the game, they're about the same length I'd say. Sure, the Werehog stages are longer than Classic Sonic, but to many that's a negative thing.

Three words my friend: Sonic the Werehog. That is why reviewers think Unleashed is inferior to Generations. But what really baffled me is that reviewers gave Unleashed a lower score than 06! I mean seriously, what the hell?!!!!!?!!
