Nicknyte 20 Posted July 20, 2012 Happy Ramadan, everyone. (July 20, 2012 - August 17/18/19) Although a Christian, I thought it would be nice to have well wishings for this very important month of the Islamic Calendar. I am participating as well to bring some religious closeness to me and my wife. Anyone else partaking in the fast, because I am just down right hungry at the moment. 6 Rinzler, Jeffhog, -Robin- and 3 others reacted to this
Rinzler 389 Posted July 20, 2012 Ramadan Kareem as well! I'm fasting today also as are the rest of my family. The first day is always the hardest, but it gets easier as the month progresses. And there is all of the delicious food at sunset. 1 Nicknyte reacted to this

Rinzler 389 Posted July 20, 2012 I've never done the fast before. It is my first time. I am trying to get a better understanding of Islam, and in turn, I think it's making me a better Christian too. God works in mysterious ways.
Nicknyte 20 Posted July 20, 2012 I am not going to get a snack. Evil foods. 8 hours left to Maghrib. <_>
Motwera 314 Posted July 20, 2012 Yep, first day so good so far, but this summer has the longest day time span, so its kind of hard to stay out of food till Maghrib

batson 942 Posted July 21, 2012 Winter: Easy Mode Summer: HARD MODE You should try a summer here in Sweden. Im not a muslim myself but i've heard many of them lament over how the night only lasts a few hours here. Hell, up in the most northern parts of the country the sun never sets during the height of summer, so i seriously dont know how muslims there handle that. SuperStingray 2,386 Posted July 21, 2012 (edited) I can't imagine going through with Ramadan; I can't even make it 4 days into Passover without submitting to my craving for something leavened. Edited July 21, 2012 by SuperStingray
Sami 10,800 Posted July 21, 2012 Ha ha, I generally have a pretty easy time with Ramadan, even in the summer. All I really need is something to keep me occupied throughout the day and I tend to forget my hunger anyway. Ramadan Kareem, you guys. 1 turbojet reacted to this
